I don't hate the idea at all. The endless eight arc only emphasizes Haruhi's capabilities and I'm sure that it will bring an interesting development. It's only annoying now because you're watching the repeated episodes every week but if you try to watch it in consecutive ways, I think that somehow you'll enjoy it like I do. Besides, it really helps to let the feeling of 'endlessness' reach the audience *laughs* and because of that, I really feel sorry for Nagato. XD edit: After posting this and reading this: shinigamidono said: Haruhi fanboys had it coming.. no need to apologize.. funny thing is, it's so bad this guy is apologizing for it and the retarded fanboys are still rating 10/10 and reviewing it as perfect. lol What the heck, did I just become one of the Haruhi fan boys!? LOL if you even have to ask (as in you suspect that you might be one or you're one of the retards that rated this show 10/10).. yes you are a haruhi fanboy (if not i don't even know why you would write that seeing as how my comment wasn't directed at you or anyone in particular but at the general haruhi fanboy pile of garbage)... all that aside.. just reading your comment above.. you are the definition of a haruhi fanboy. you can't even admit they are feeding you crap so bad that someone has to apologize for it simply because it's labeled haruhi (i mean when was the last time someone apologized for how an anime/movie was made.. i can't even recall one instance. it's really THAT bad).. if that's not a fanboy i need to rethink my definition :/ |

| We can only hope people to be honest with their feelings and don't buy endless 8 DVD's. I've read the manga a year ago and find endless 8 to be cool. (Maybe because it's not 6 episodes, they concluded the story rather quickly) Before this, I actually thought TMoSH2 will be better because of the upcoming contents... guess endless 8 kinda ruined it huh? |

Splitter said: shadowraze said: The apology's nice, but it shouldn't have ever been necessary. They shouldn't have ever let this happen. To think that they even considered pulling this on fans is practically proof that they enjoy trolling people. KyoAni subscribes to the same marketing principles as Seth MacFarlane. They can insult you, troll you, and make you threaten to stop watching, but they already know you'll be back next week to have more swill shoveled down your throat. Exactly the way it IS. The way they started the rumors, stiring up the fan community for things that did not happen, the twistest way to relanch the first season again (hey, the first season was good enough to be rewatched without all that marketing tricks), the first episode to show alle the fans what they are: consumers who should not in the slightest hint of a very own opinion, which might disagree to buy the merchandise. The truth is: The first series was so unique (far from a perfect, but even though I have to agree to that status compared to the masses of other anime series) that the creators of the season 2 simply agreed that they were unable to meet the expections of the fans by normal means. That is why they try to use marketing tricks, mind games and some other uncommon elements to enforce the view of the series as an piece of art. And a piece of art is unique in it's own way. Like the "artist" who literally nailed a few pieces of shit in transparent bags onto a wall. They even paid him very nicely to display that "piece of art" at a museum (!!!) even though it was thrown out about a week later after they finally realised (or should I say: they smelled it?) what it really was. And since the marketing strategy reminds me so well about that "artist" with it's bags, well, guess what? I did not watch even one EP and I'm pretty sure I will not see or buy it ever - because it will only spoil the strong points of the first series. I don't really know if Yamamoto Yutaka could have stopped them, but deciders always should stay in touch with their peer groups and I'm pretty sure he had confirmed his own doubts to be shared by a lot of his former fans. Which ultimative leads to the decision to quit. Because he is partly responsible and at least he takes that seriously - even though it might also have to do with saving his face or his future career. Who would hire that "artist" of bags any more (the bag artist mentioned still pretents that it is a piece of art, not to be judged by the bunch of people who could not comprehend such unique style)? Hitting the brakes and draw the line is, at least from my tiny point of view, the only thing he could have done - even though it's very, very late. For the fans who still hold out: I hope your faith is not wasted and you could still enjoy the show. |

And considering that he is no longer a member of the Haruhi 2 staff, he really don't have much right to apologize on their behalf as that it has nothing to do with him in the first place. More over, I think the Endless Eight Arc is pretty well-executed, even though I am not too happy to watch a different variation of the same episode over and over again. Nonetheless, I get the feeling that this second season will turn out pretty good by the end of the series, of course. In other words, I think KyoAni do not need to apologize as that they are doing a good job. If people don't like the Endless Eight, they can always choose not to watch it as that there is always a sufficient number of anime series and ova per season. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to KyoAni's dynamic presentation of the second series as that I still have high expectations.^^ True... Although I don't like the fact that there's too much repeat, all the other elements of the anime are still there (great art work, scene execution and world changing phenomenons). Besides, it's not like an apology would make it go away anyways~ If they were gonna do something about it, I wish they will increase the number of episodes and not do anything like that again (Not even for Disappearance of Haruhi arc should this repeat be allowed) |

I guess the "apology" is part of his revenge on KyoAni. Yes, I take it as him badmouthing his former company more than a real apology. Strange thing is that he did the extremely average, generic and overrated Kannagi and still badmouths a studio that (even if I am by no mean a KyoAni fan) usually does a better job than him. |

Strange thing is that he did the extremely average, generic and overrated Kannagi and still badmouths a studio that (even if I am by no mean a KyoAni fan) usually does a better job than him. I think he did his best with Kannagi as he was bound by the generic source material/script. Despite his bad remarks on Kyoani, Yamamoto said that he respects their work and loved working there, and that he wants to carry on their philosophy/approach on animation and do work befitting a former Kyoani employee. And looking at Kannagi, especially the episodes he directed/storyboarded himself and were co-produced with Ordet (#1, #7 and #13), you can see clearly the Kyoani approach, meaning an emphasis on realistic character animation and embuing the characters with life through fuller animation. The other episodes were somewhat weaker concerning the animation, but that was to be expected since A1 can't stand up to Kyoani when it comes to quality, as latter studio does most things in-house (so it's a bit unfair to compare Kannagi to Kyoani series in that regard). And it's interesting that they are seemingly planning the E8 arc for quite a while now (according to Yamamoto), but it's nice to see that they finally abandon their fan-pandering stance. But E8 is nevertheless pretty interesting as they give the episode/animation directors more freedom in creating the episodes, and Haruhi is still one of the few well-produced anime around right now. |

| An amusing apology. The only way I'll forgive KyoAni for this whole Endless Eight shenanigan is with a new Full Metal Panic! season ;) Actually, saying that, I don't mind Endless Eight. They've just dragged in on for far too long now, and it got ridiculous around the 4th time. Now its close to unbearable, but I continue to watch hoping for a conclusion to it. I really started enjoying this season when I had watched about 3 episodes, I thought it was quite clever, guess I didn't expect the Endlessness. |

| Why the apology? I've just watched the 5 E8 eps in a row, and I've found nothing to object The 'promised' 6 eps might feel a bit much though It would be regrettable if Kyoani would handicap the new season from the disappearence chapter because of this issue Also: cyruz said: Fuck the apology, good job talking bad about a company you're no longer a part of. Like many have already said, if Endless Eight had been three parts, this could be acceptable. We're going on six. It's trying many people's patience. Really the only reason I keep tuning in is because the blame for the events in the show keep shifting with each episode I watch. First I blamed, Haruhi, then Kyon, then Yuki, and now I'm blaming Itsuki. Mikuru, don't think you're safe. | they have just found an easy target... they know that even if they do 11 shit episodes + 1 decent one, the fanboys (... and so many of them indeed for this show) will sit and watch it all on tv, then buy the dvd, then the blu-ray, then the merchandise...... in fact they don't even need to include that one decent episode... they can just re-use animation and make nothing of value and they'll still make their millions... if you think of it from a business point of view, they have very little reason to make anything with quality (their only possible reason would be to keep fan loyalty.. but the way Haruhi fanboys are, they are not really in danger of losing any loyalty no matter what kind of crap they put out) |
