Not really important ones but it just kinda bothered me that they weren't there. For instance, the book scene where Yuu explained that the Vampires can survive light rays because of protective badges on their uniforms.

On this episode, I personally think they adapted the manga perfectly fine. I was a bit disappointed that they animated Yoichi's sister's scene so early because an offhanded mention would have already did the trick (in the manga it wasn't till he "faced his demon" that it showed up, and the impact was pretty good there), but other than that this episode really didn't stray from the original material much.

The manga also showed his sister's scene actually. Yeah, people really need to be patient instead of bitching about every unexplained things when it's still just ep 2. More so with this author's story since I heard one of his LN, Denyuuden, took 22 volumes setting up the stage and fleshing out characters for the main story lol.

Yeah, I've noticed that too in ep 1 but it didn't bother me much tbh since none of that really comes into play so far in the manga. And that will bring in more stupid questions like how did they get the books about vampires in the first place, did the vampires wrote that and for what. Not like we hadn't have enough of that already here.

I meant the missing dialogues in this episode. The only things different from the manga in this episode are, iirc, one of Yuu's monologue, the teacher warning Yuu about the vampire in the class and the rearranged fight scenes. That's really faithful if you compare it to lots of adaptations that came out in recent years.

I'm finding it amusing that so many people are complaining about insufficient world building for an anime that's already penned in to have two split cours. Do you seriously believe that they're going to give you guys every single detail about the world in the first two episodes? Seriously?!? Have a little patience here.

The school setting makes sense here. Considering that the world population was reduced by 90% and the sudden appearance of a superior species that can easily dispose of normal humans as you saw in episode 1 (and don't think they can't do the same to adults just because the victims in the first episode were hapless kids), you'd think that even the kids need to be educated somehow about the new world. Also, the school just so happens to be in one of the very few safe zones occupied and controlled by humans (think of the world of Warm Bodies and you'll get the picture, only the weak mindless Zombies have turned into cunning Overpowered Vampires), so it's not really that big of an issue for the change in setting. Also, this show won't be as shonen-esque as you think it is, once the humans start dropping like flies (personal feeling there is that it's more AOT than anything else) just to drop ONE single vampire.

If you're patient enough to stay for a few more episodes, you'll see the true setting of the world that is slowly presented as they gradually step outside the safe zones to fight. This has all the elements for a great show but for those who can't wait, well, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. It ain't our problem if you're not into slow building goodness.

Ah, Sawano. You never disappoint, do you? Both the opening and ending are awesome.

The episode was interesting, though there are some weak points, mainly the population being reduced to 1/10th and seemingly nothing has changed as a result. I wish the fight scenes would be a bit more dynamic, too, and hopefully we move away from anime cliche #1 - high school setting.

Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable. Looks like we have ourselves a Mika 2.0, and obligatory female companion. So far so good.

I liked this a lot.
At first I was irritated to see such a normal high-school setting (with the mc sitting next to the window, of course), but luckily it seems that this period isn't going to last long.

Some cliches, but otherwise an episode I really enjoyed watching. The OP and ED were also great.

Why should it?
It was a virus not a meteor.
And 1/10th of the population is still about 800 million people left, if anything the world is better off less stress with overpopulation.

That was awesome episode 2!
The OP was outstanding! both music and the animation that played with it!
And ED was epic also. Both OP/ED was made my Sawano!
Tsundere MC is tsundere!
Badass Guren thumbs-down yow!
The effects when Guren killed that vampire was uber cool!
At the end of the episode Hyakuya had proof that he made friends and was finally accepted on the Moon Demon Company along with Shinoa & Yoichi.

why so many MAL haters here...

thought we were getting answers to how humanity survived after the virus and how they managed to create that zone without vampires.

It surely feels like the generic shounen anime and the MC is exactly like so many other I have seen, was very excited for this one but it was a let down :/ Guess i'll stick with it for a few more episodes hoping it will redeem itself but I can almost predict what will happen for the rest of the series and I haven't even read the manga..

Can't remember the OP but when I heard it I thought it was pretty good, the art is another thing that is good about this series, seriously the amazing backgrounds are breathtaking!

Another great ep. This is definitely the highest production value show I've seen this season.

Shinoba is a great addition.

Vampire fight was pretty awesome. The fluidity of the action scenes is pretty.

Also loving the voice work.

OP was kind of a spoiler, but I had a feeling.

ED song is epic!

At least the combat in this anime is awesome.

Lol the inserted yaoi tease tho. Then again, Guren's reaction was too extreme, "He? A friend? How dare he!" Shinoa is cute, I always loved her character design, and her personality is pretty cute, too. Hyakuya ain't a bad protagonist. He is like a better ver. of Eren.

Omfg this was even worst than 1st episode. Copy/paste Attack on Titan all over. Characters are just outright idiotic nd mirror copies from AoT.
MC = Eren, crying faggot = Armin, Mikasa = purple girl.

However, that would be still OK, yeah, if not for those incredibly stupid phrases and dialogues.. jeezus that was embarassing.

The only saving is grace is music. All hail Sawano.

Though, I'll probably stick with it for a little bit longer to see if it can get any better but really, what a let down...

Ha. haha.. ha... what is even remotely the same between them aside from being female heroines.

All of them will get more character developments in this season compared to those in AoT S1 so that already makes them better than mere "copy-pastes".

It's not like comparing these characters alone but rather in whole picture. And you can't feel nothing else that Attack on Titan copycat when you look at this. They are identical characters in identical setting. Btw let's not pretend that they have more layers than that. They are shallow as spoon. (in AoT and here so far as well)

I don't want to throw the towel right off the bat but really, everyting would be acceptable and OK if not for those cringe-worthy dialogues. They were so poorly written.

I hate Hyakuya so freaking much. Omg guys it's so unfair why doesn't he get his way all the time? The world is so unfair to him it's completely obvious that he should be put on a pedestal and have everyone give him what he wants! And why should he have to take someone else's orders when he has something else in mind??? The most entitled freaking brat has arrived, guys.

Also, lol "you called me weak and told me not to avenge my sister but you're so brave because you fought that vampire!!! Let's be friends!"

Finally the ending was total bs. They admired Hyakuya's act of "putting his life on the line to save everyone else" because his top priority couldn't possibly have been anything other than saving anyone besides himself.

Although the battle with the vampire was pretty cool. The rest of the episode was pretty bad, though.

I have a few speculations based on what I've known of the story so far but for now, it's because of the "prophecy".

and if they know where the enemy is, why havent they done anything?

Lol, cause they can't do shit against a city full of vampires with all damn nobles in there. Just wait till they fight the vampire nobles in the anime.

A somewhat interesting if uninspired post-apocalyptic future overrun with vampires? We better set it in a Japanese high school just to be safe.

Also, "Hey, main character, the plot calls for you to make friends in order to get your suspension lifted, so we're your friends now!" And the old "murdered friends saying goodbye in a dream once you make a new friend" cliche. "This wimp you met fifteen minutes ago is following you around now, so I guess that means you're finally ready to start moving on!"

The comparisons with AoT in this threat are absolutely ludicrous! Way more than I expected...(not sure if trolling...but well) kudos for that and thank you for the laugh!

Anyway, I really liked this episode! I've got...no complaints.
Ok maybe there one particular scene...

Those action scenes (we had already seen in the trailer) are a feast for the eyes. Looking forward for the big battles that are to come!

Unsurprisingly the OST really stood out, Sawano delivers once again (ngl I was afraid it would sound too much like AoT or A.Z but I heard some distinctive tracks... looking good so far).

And whoa that OP sequence sure is something. I can't fathom how anyone can dislike it... Best OP of the season for me (with Fate's on a close 2nd)

Bonus points for Shinoa. Shinoa best girl? Shinoa best character.

And I am sorry that my critics gave you a headache.

So what? We're only two episodes in, is it clear enough? Not enough to criticize it. Just be patient and give it a chance. maybe it will turn out to be surprisingly good. There's a reason why the 3 episodes rule exist.

Yes I do because it doesn't matter whether it's 2 episodes in or 12 when they present us hideous dialogues. There is no excuse for this. It left me wondering whether they do not have any form of editor or someone who can tell author to stop smoking that shit in Japan. Btw it's not a phenomena exclusive to this work but rather a humongous problem occuring in 3/4 of anime/manga.

Really disappointed, I thought this anime was going for a post-apocalyptic setting, turns out they get to live a normal highschool life, while being super heroes at night. Mc's best friend, who's suppose to be dead is alive and is basically the Sasuke of the story. Inb4 "The vampires aren't so bad, they just want to live."
