Their method was harsh, but so is [childhood] bullying. I'm glad we're past this part because I can't stand this stuff :v

So that accident even connects Hikki to the Yukinoshita family huh

What reference? I'm trying to think, but I can't find any.
Also this Rom-Com is different then most I've watched. Like Hamichi and Yuki they don't like each other, but don't hate one another, and we know Yui likes him.
But yeah the pace is different, I like it watched eight eps last night, XD
Overall liking this anime, a nice change from what I'm use too so far.
Although can we stop with the whole Totsuka thing already. Like that's literally the only thing I hate so far.

I do not remember. It was something like "I will the God (or ruler) of the new world", with that Light look Machiavellian.

Another great episode!! Ranked up to 10/10 after this!! This is getting smoking hot!! This show is on fire!!!

It was a nice psychological tactics played by my boy Hachiman. To reveal the true self from fear, well played.

The limson owner was Yukinon family!! What an mischievious fate.

Looks like next episode will develop Yui feelings toward my boy.

Hayato might be a little more interesting than I'd thought he'd be at first, maybe later we will get to know him better?

Also I'm starting to suspect that Hachiman seriously is gay lol. If we had Ruka from S;G instead of Saika it'd probably already happen :>

I feel as thought their actions were a little controversial. For two reasons:

1. It didn't solve the problem
2. No one ended up happy

The girl decided to save everyone from assault, and she still ended up the loner. No one cared for her, and yet everyone felt accomplished. Besides the fact that it made all of them seem like assholes to the children, it also somewhat tarnished the relationships among them since they reverted to primitive instincts of survival. I don't feel like the plan was well thought out, and it was conducted more as a way for Hachiman to prove Hayato wrong than actually benefiting Rumi.

Regardless, still a good episode, a little strange that they carried the minor plot along two episodes. It's still one of the best Slice of Life's I've seen.

This show sure does have some depressing topics, you don't normally see this in a slice of life, where all the characters are usually happy and friendly.

Those poor little girls, I know what they were doing was wrong, but they're probably traumatised now lol..

Hm. I don't get why Hikki's plan was bad :/ the girl ended up saving those other bitches. I know that doesn't necessarily get you "in" right away, but yeah. Confused.

I liked how she could relate to Hikki though and followed him around. That was q. It's too bad when she walked past him at the end though, not acknowledging him :( I guess she knew it was his plan. Oh wells.

The part where Hikki said you need to be the God of a new world got me shook >:O that was so badass coming from him LOL.

At first this seemed like a series of self contained episodes with character development as the running theme, but it looks like the car accident is tying in with the relationships between the main characters to form an overarching plot. Nicely done

I want to think this will eventually help Rumi accept who she is and make real peace with her irregularities, rather than conforming to the norms and trying to figure out a way to fit in just for the sake of fitting in.. which is a problem most of us "proud loners" secretly go through. It gets difficult to even know whether our dreams and wishes are truly our own, or if they're a mere by-product of a cruel society.

I too was -and to an extent still am- a shadow in a corner. This episode almost reduced me to tears. Great series.

Great episode! Hachiman being the center of the episode. If he actually took it seriously and actually put an effort, he would really be a amazing leader in his class.

That was probably Yukino's limo that hit Hachiman.

Honestly, this scenario kinda reminds me of Nisekoi. Although both came out in 2011 (manga and light novel) and Yahari came a few months before.

Even Chitoge and Yui has the same VA, but their roles are reverse (one is rich and one is more outgoing).

Cant' wait for the next one!

i like how they have defined the term true friend here, i mean the loner girl saved that group of girls who are being scared at that time. hikky said that amidst she have done it, that dont make her friends with that group but he also said that she saved them knowing she's not their friend thus she is a real friend.

I LIKE HOW THE APPROACH USED IN THIS ONE. it is indeed true that its a little bit low or harsh but those circumstances will really put to the test the character among each other as it shown here that during the times like those, that group are already being selfish wanting themselves to be saved thus blaming others already. it even come to the point where someone have pushed her friend...

love this one

The fuck with that first scenes, SaixHachi really intensed. Lmao!

Looks like they would go all out to resolved the little girls problem of bullying. The crazy method, once again, came from Hachiman, the master of loneliness and the destroyer of relationship. Yet, he was succeeded, with the great consequencies: lost his friendship with little girl. Its okay. He was good. Atleast he got a wonderful stunning moment of Yukino. And great fireworks fest after that. Not bad campfire at all. Its perfect, smooth, and without any great problem. Only to realized that the real one was in the end. Finally they prepared the shocking drama in between Yukino's own family problematica....

The amount of joke were decreasing. Thanks to the increase number of drama that surrounding the little girl own thread. Even she couldn't understand that it was all just a setup. Yet, its still funny with their reaction and expression. Oh, well! Alas, even the comedy thingy might decreasing so high. Eventually, i got some spicy looks for all the girls. Yup, what else than the bikini's parade. Its beautiful events on summer! Oh, that ghost costume changing might a little satisfaction too. Ofc a creepy look from Hachiman never need any costume to become a great ghost. Lmao!

Thats it. Lets just moved on to the last arc of this season!

"Is he gonna give me a good morning kiss?"
"If only I could soak Totsuka"
"I'd go for the Totsuka route without thinking it twice."
Look at that wildness. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The first half had some fanservice bits, Hachiman's "world cutest", the gravitation law thing and Yukino being angered at Hachiman mentioning her flat-ness were really hilarious. The problem with Rumi's loneliness seems to be scalating quickly, and Hachiman wanna use the valor trial for it to be mitigated; I like the characterization Hayama had this episode, especially that ideological conflict between him and Hachiman, he defiinitely is a good guy, though those last word about Hikigaya-Hikitani were confusing (at least to me); also, I loved the fact that Miura played the role of villain so effortlessly, it's kinda ironic, she's interesting but a b*tch nonetheless; another thing was the slight change in the art in the villanous scene, it was a bit over-the-top but it sold the tone pretty well.
And that scene at the end, the limousine twist was unexpected, but a bit forced tbh, it feels like it's sole purpose is to create drama, that's not bad by any means, but it's a plot twist of the kind "the world is small enough for this to happen", that and the Yui's dog plot twist felt much more natural; I still like it, and I'm sure we'll see some good stuff out of this, but it bugged me a bit.

Also, the last thing I was expecting in this show was a Shaft-alike head tilt; curious, as I've find Oregairu similar to Monogatari at some degree. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

lmao that death note reference shinsekai no kami

yukino is such a babe i love her

not sure what all of that was for, there seemed to be no conclusion - it didn't seem like they ended up on good terms/friends with rumi? was that a plot device to push hayato's narrative? either i'm too dense or i just didn't relate to this episode. also if they did that IRL the camp would probably receive endless complains from the kids' parents that was kinda in bad taste lol

the characters are really growing on me!

Why has Yui got a costume that looks like it came from Victoria's Secret? Hardly appropriate for Elementary school kids, I bet a few young boys had some strange feelings when they laid eyes on that!

Hachiman's plan didn't work, but neither did Hayato get proved right. Girls of that age really are horrible, rumours spread like wildfire and well, if your favourite friend tells you someone you like less is a slut/bitch/snake then you're probably going to believe them, aren't you?

My mum got bullied at school, it started with one group and gradually spread to the whole year. All her friends left her one by one as they couldn't take the bullying. One girl said and I quote "I like you Britishblitz87's mum but we can't be friends anymore, if I say mean stuff about you I'm sorry I don't mean it" another said "You're a good friend but If I'm seen being friends with you then you'll be the only friend I'll have". Her best friend tried to see her after school but got beaten up by the bullies and switched sides when she could'nt take it anymore. One by one when they were free of the hell that is secondary school they all apologised and said they knew she wasn't a slut, even some of the worst bullies from the other group realised how horrible they were and asked for forgiveness. Gradually she found out it all stemmed from one girl. Just one person corrupted a whole year group of nice, friendly kids into breaking friendships and abusing each other. Quite terrifying really, the need for acceptance is one of the strongest human urges.

Don't judge them too harshly, I wouldn't even have the first clue how to solve something like that, anything involving the teachers will just turn you into a grass/teacher's pet.

I wonder if the pictures Rumi took will come back to bite them in the ass?

This is probably my favorite episode so far. Yumiko had a good moment, Tobe is also kind of cool, but WOAHHH, what was that from Hayato, telling Hachiman that "we probably still wouldn't have been friends", am I missing something? because that "I'm just kidding" felt like the most empty follow-up I've heard, lol.

Interesting view on this grade school relationship, so sad to see shit like this happen so early in life. I STILL DON'T GET YUI, yes that was probably the car that almost hit your dog like Hachiman said in his mind, but why is that so bad? It was your dog's fault and it's not like the car killed someone from your family. I'm interested in Yukino's backstory.

MY EYES ARE BEING DRAWN IN BY AN UNKNOWN FORCE

I like how Hachiman is kind of just like "boobs" with Yui, but when he turns around and sees Yukino, he's like WOW BEAUTIFUL..... I mean, he's not wrong. Yukino is definitely a beautiful ice queen. I'm just sad with the art style change with the next 2 seasons, she kind of loses that beauty imho.

I'm actually surprised that Hayama and his friends went along with Hachiman's plan, you'd think they'd want to maintain a good image in front of young kids. They did plan to reveal to them all that it was all just a ruse to make them realize how fragile their friendships were, but they didn't anticipate the loner girl (sorry, forget her name) saving them all and running away. They don't show them clearing it up with the young girls later, maybe it's something that was cut out from the light novels, but I wouldn't think that they'd just leave things as they were. As for those 5 girls themselves, they don't even show them reconciling with the loner girl, but I guess we are after all supposed to assume that they are now re-thinking their ways and probably considering not shunning her all the time anymore. We go a bit in depth as to why people are loners, particularly in Hachiman's monologues, but I didn't really get it so I'm just not going to touch on it.

Back to Hayama agreeing to Hachiman's plan to destroy the girls' relationships, that could've gone wrong, as sensei states that was a slippery slope to begin with. I'm sure they didn't tell her about it because she probably wouldn't have allowed it- or would she have? Anyway, I'm just gonna say that those young girls MAYBE should've thought something was up when their highschool counsolers (idk how to spell) were acting pretty strange. Like why the sudden change in character all of a sudden? Were they EVIL this whole time? Not to completely scar them, and not that they weren't effective enough already (they got lucky that those young girls fell for it), they should've 'reveal' that they were child traffickers this entire time, and only joined the camp to abudct them! Yeah ok maybe too far for this show, but can you imagine lol.

You could argue that as young elementary kids, they tend to be gullible and manipulated. But come on, this is anime, where even young kids have like 900iq. But since we're taking the gullible route, then in that case, they could have just been scarred for life with that experience. It really was a risky play. Even if they came out and revealed it was all a ploy, no doubt they would still harbour some fear or even resentment on Hayama and the others. It was smart in theory, but I think Hachiman could've easily fked up had it not been for loner girl literally saving the day and having it end with the best possible result and most likely fixing her relationship with the other 4 girls. To which I'm also thinking, why would she do that? Did she actually care for them the entire time despite being shunned by them? I guess she never was like Yukino, an ice queen who looked down on others.

Anyway, they're all back from camp now, so we must assume that everything has been fixed and is all good in the hood. Until Yukino's sister arrives in a black limo, to which Hachiman realizes that that was the one that hit him back then. I wonder what he thinks about that.

edit: also I actually didn't notice this until I read a comment that pointed it out, but yeah, we got Yukino doing the iconic monogatari head tilt. Based anime just for that.

Well their method to helping those kids was awful. I get the idea was to break up the friend group so they're all alone (pretty awful premise in general), but Hayato argued that the kids would standup for each other. That kind of happened with the loner kid "saving" the others, but nothing good seemed to come from it afterwards. Did they even tell the children it was a prank? Cause if not that's pretty fucked up and would not go down well in the real world if the children told an adult. Also the loner kid still seemed to be a loner and the other girls were just awkward with each other. So yeah, pretty miserable outcome.
