Anyone want to give me the name of that music piece during the ear in the box scene?

It's "Nessun Dorma" piece of Italian opera ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdTBml4oOZ8 ), I think it was used in the worst way possible, it didn't match the scenes at all.

I get more and more shocked as I watch this.
Even though I kinda guessed they would be eating human body parts, it still creeped me out. The guys in those "animal" suits as well...
I can't believe someone can do such a thing to a grandma! The end scene was unnecessary, I didn't want to see Akane's grandma being killed. :(

Ahahaha they broke Mika. So pathetic. And I'm willing to bet she had everything to do with the kidnapping of Akane's gran - you just can't walk in there and take a person, especially when the enforcers are required to always be accompanied by a detective so Togane couldn't have done it alone.

Also, I just really want to know WHY Togane so desperately needs Akane's psycho-pass to turn black. Like, does his old robotic-hag of a mother request it, and if so, why? Or he just obsessed with f-ing up everything as much as possible to get praised by the said hag? Because Akane knows the truth about Sibyl and accepted it and continued to do her job. So what gives?

Two episodes left and no reasonable ending in sight. I wonder how much they can salvage in those episodes because this whole season is becoming a bad joke.

I'm surprised. People are turned off by the killing of animals, but not that of people?

Season 1 had plenty of brutality to go around. What we saw in S2 ep9 isn't much different than what Rikako Ouryou did in S1 - and she even thought of her work as "art." Hell, the MWPSB shot an unarmed and cornered suspect, instead of interrogating him about the crimes. That hostage in episode 1 could have easily been blown to bits if Akane didn't shoot Kogami (yet so many of you idolize that guy, I fail to understand why). If anything, S1 had plenty of WTF moments of its own.

Don't like seeing people getting blown up by Dominators? Well, blame the folks who designed them to do that. Unless of course you want to retcon Dominators so that Lethal Eliminator mode just shoots a self cauterizing beam (I actually wouldn't mind, the gore doesn't add anything for me).

The violence in Season 2 is pushing it, but not over the top yet - there are enough times where it proves a point (i.e. Sybil's weaknesses).

If you want to see truly mindless violence, go watch those 80-90s OVAs like MD Geist or Genocyber, then come back and compare.

Perhaps this show needs more trigger warnings for you folks.

So much going on the show right now that i think only two episodes aren't enough, maybe there will be a 3rd season or the story will carry on in to the movie?

anyway, bloody episode and can't wait for next week.

Since the movie comes out in one month and takes place after season 2 and opposes Akame and the sybil system against Kogami she's resolved this whole mess somehow.

I actually was rather unimpressed with this episode. The cliffhanger from 8-9 ended up backfiring imo as Mika went from being in-tears-terrified in 8 to enthusiastically praising Sybil in the beginning of 9. At first I thought it had to have been an act, but the fact that her psycho-pass was still clear...I'm just so confused.

I know everyone is talking about the eating human flesh and such with the rich people and the people who burn to death in the animal holos, and that is gruesome, but it felt a little forced imo.

Also what on earth was the deal with the ear in the box. I understand that it was Akane's grandma's, but how the hell did Kamui find her? The episode had been setting up that Togane was going to kill her, and in the next episode Kasei and Mika are both acting like they were responsible, but then why the hell would Kirito have her ear? This series is still fun, but so many times I find myself thinking that it makes no fucking sense.

Good god Mika, she was written for the sole purpose of drawing hatred from every viewer. The most epic of trolls.

Also I almost lost my lunch when we saw who the animals were, that was truly sickening.

Meh, I don't really like how this season is demonizing Sybil pointlessly further. They are turning them into some sort of Akame ga Kill government which is frankly bad. I consider dropping this season as a sequel in my mind.

I like how the writer purposely lit a green light for our Shimotsuki hate. She's staying for the Movie? Shit.

I wonder how Togane is going to use Mika to change Akane’s colour, omg that flashback no wonder he’s so messed up, like seriously what kind of hobby is killing puppies? Not that he had a choice or knew any better but still wow.

What the hell Kamui? You’re going to kill everyone? I wonder exactly what makes him think he’s way better of a judge than Sybil is.

Poor Aoi, being used like that

It's only me or this second season is crap? In my opinion they try to reach the audience with a lot of unnecessary violence, don't get me wrong I don't mind some kills here and there, but I miss the vibe it gave me the first season. I can't find any characters development and the psychological side is kinda lacking too.
The idea wasn't that bad, "what's your colour?", but I don't know...

You summed it up. It lacks the intelligence and development of the first season, and the characters also feel void of any personality. On top of that the plot feels full of holes and unsubstantial. Did the new writer even care?

Mika clapping in the beginning.. She just forces herself to do that, although deep inside she's broken.

Togane with those childhood memories...

Kamui's revenge and plan continues.

the psycho-pass franchise always brings up really interesting concepts. the Omnipotence Paradox theory is really interesting, and I'm starting to understand Kamui's motive a lot more. how will it end with the last 2 episodes? i dont know what will happen if Kamui succeeds to undermine the sibyl system.

maybe you just dont understand it? To me, the 2nd season is way deeper than the 1st (which had a very deep meaning too). The character development isnt lacking at all... although, its been so long since season1, ive forgotten about many of the characters.

I wouldnt say way deeper ... persé but its definitely interesting.
I've forgotten about most of the first season aswell, been 2 years for me.

But it's with most sequels, even if it's good people will still find ways to say is bad etc.
Just like SAO2 which isnt half as bad as people make it out to be.

Anyway, seems we're getting to a closing point, Kamui is making his move after having a nice little dinner party with his "friends"

Can't anyone just wake up and see how Akane's grandmother's ear being in Kamui's possession whilst Togane has kidnapped her doesn't make sense?

I thought this series already established that Togane wanted Kamui dead (for reasons). If that's the case, why is he in cahoots with one of Kamui's men and how did Kamui's henchman get her ear in the first place? Maybe it's a double agent thing, but if it hasn't been explained or even foreshadowed, then what the fuck is even happening anymore?

Mika's...Oh whatever, at this point everyone knows what she is.

Togane being evil, because he's evil and therefore wants to do evil things to please his evil mother. Got it.

Nessun Dorma moment was really cool, I'll give them that.

Ok, maybe this is too edgy. But it's fine, I'm enjoying it - with the exception of the horrendous shit they've done to the grandma and the immigrants. Please don't EVER mistreat grandmas, specially not somewhere that I can see. Don't brutally torture anyone either, kay. Fuck, this is horrible.

Wow what an episode!

It's obvious Mika was just playing dumb with their charades.

Still i think the show really showed how flawed a system like Sybil is.

That Akane scene though :D

Still that was fucked up, when those corrupted officials were eating those Alien immigrants. Even more so when the immigrants themselves were being experimented on.

Yeah it doesn't make sense how Tougane is helping out Kamui. Unless he has some sort of grudge to her mother Kasei.

Last 2 episodes, might as well finish this :)
