It's weird to think that after all this while, the brainwashed Sho would settle in the White Clad being taken care of by Haumea and the others as their captain, doing nothing but be a sitting duck. But after a mere moment of witnessing Shinra, the urge for the brothers' meeting is strong, at least for the younger brother wanting to see his older brother with Arrow accompanying him in disguise.

With Company No. 8 all together again in the face of more danger with the Great Cataclysm coming soon, the pairing game on Iris's end sure has everyone all clamoring about forcing ideal partners on each other. And for Scop to finally resurface again, the Lushan mole had his own endurance arc against the Hell Hound lol. Sure, that story is worth telling, but it's layered with so much fluff in-between that nothing much of it is significant, until the relevancy of the Lady in Black in regard to the catastrophe incoming.

As the White Clad assumes the Pillars together, Scop puts in the word that trying to decipher pi would bring the world to ruins, which everything has already been put in place unlike the last. With Obi's secrecy on his informants from other companies who're willing to support Company No. 8 or not, help may be small, but it's significant in the long run.

Together with Scop's evidence of the man-made earthquakes that Sister Sumire concocted, the first of 8 Pillars is erected...and the Great Cataclysm has finally begun.
This will be a long race to stop the White Clad for the calamity they're about to create once again...

Calm ep

Sho has now been truly enlightened and has now escaped from the grasps of the White Clad for now.

Whole lotta funny faces and now we are discussing ships.

Now the summoning of the pillars commence.

This ep adapted from ch 207 - 210. Some events were rearranged and sum characters got cut bc they were fodder.

Really looks like 216 is the end goal for this cour.

9/10
@JayDaAnimeLord there's no way they're going to be stupid enough to try and adapt the next 100 chapters in 12 episodes I sincerely hope they don't it would be the peak of kodanshas incompetence
I'd rather die a free man then live under the rules of idiots

I mean, it was an OK episode, at least much better than the last one. I personally liked the bits with Sho and his livings in The Nether, something I feel like should have been explored before, especially his relationship with his protector, Arrow, a character that has been shown so much in the anime, but never in the perspective of being Sho's protector.
The middle of the episode was a bit oksish, since they were only talking about things that we already knew about, and some comedy in between. Seen some people complain how the comedy was really badly place, but I am honestly not even surprised, and I think the anime did much worse before, but yeah, this is yet another example of that (they literally be talking about the end of the world, and still make jokes in between, this anime has a really hard time taking itself seriously).
The pilar appearing at the end made me wonder what is its function.

Not like that girl was ever going to betray Sho anyways, so I do think he was right by being a bit too vigilant, but yeah, she a nice girl, so don’t be so hard on her:) Btw, we’re really getting the detours this season, don’t we? Till last episode it was the thing with Arthur and now Sho. Though at least Sho has a genuine reason with him. That is that though, at this point I think Hibana should just join company 8 lol, because it anyways looks like she’s already a part of their group.

Iris rooting for the pairs, but somehow not naming Lisa and Vulcan felt like a crime. Really they had fun this episode, but genuinely speaking, THE ENTIRE YAP OF THAT FUCKING MOLE SCHOP OR WHATEVER FELT LIKE IT LASTED HOURS… seriously, like pls fast forward through those kinda segments. I mean we've important things to deal with right? Good that Obi and company 8 are getting the support of the other companies, as yeah they'd very much need it.. first pillar has finally came out, I mean.
@Softhenic03 Scop reminded me of Excalibur from Soul Eater with the story lol

Shit is about to go down HARD.

Iris can be so devilish sometimes lol, she felt like a fkng redditor with all that shipping lmao

I wanted to see Hibana explain the food poisoning and Sumire's plot to see how Iris would react to it, but because of Scop that never happened, she told them off-screen 🫤
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

And Iris talking about ships and not even mentioning the obvious Vulcan x Lisa smh.

For a 12 EP series I am really disappointed. Fire Force had a lot of potential, but tbh if they're going to do all of this filler it should have been 24 EP, not 12, for this season. Most EP's don't come to a satisfying conclusion and just jump to the next plot point, which is clearly the let's reshape the world by blowing it up. Never seen that concept before. Haters will hate, but really, this was one of the most unique show concepts that fell off hard for me : ( My favorite part of this series is the ending. They put more effort into that than the entire season so far. Banger ED w/ amazing animation. I'll admit I have never read the Manga so I'd hope it is a higher standard, but I don't see anything satisfying coming out of the last two EP's. Sadness.

So the 8 human pillars will be followed by 8 giant concrete pillars raised by that creepy old nun? I did not see that coming.

Once again though, the writer's obsession with the number π/pi -and more generally their seemingly complete STEM illiteracy(?)*- renders the plot risible, and suspension of disbelief in mortal danger.

π can be neither 'deciphered' nor 'decoded', because it's neither an obscure ancient script nor an encryption algorithm; it is simply an irrational number.

Claims of "calculating" π also make no sense if no digits are defined (like here), since that could mean anything from 3.14, which is easy to 'calculate' without a computer (you just draw a circle, crudely measure its perimeter, and divide by its radius; that's it), up to trillions of digits, for which a computer algorithm is required.

Calculating π to more digits is of high value to science, engineering, astronomy etc And, lacking a GPS system, to geolocation accuracy. I assume what the writer is trying to pull with their crude mentions of π, and why the first Cataclysm was only partly a success is this:

Lacking some other way to accurately pinpoint geolocation you need to use geometry - and thus π. The 8 Pillars will probably form an octagon on Earth. The more digits the White Clad have calculated π to the more accurately the octagon's 8 points/pillars can be placed by the old hag.

For some reason very high accuracy of the pillars' position must be required for the Second Cataclysm to be fully effective, and thus tens or even hundreds of digits of π.

So, while 'calculating pi' alone makes zero sense, "calculating pi up to the 100th or 150th digit" would have made perfect sense. But then again we're talking about a writer who had the genius of the team claim gold gets... "more magnetic with higher temperatures" 🤦🏼

*No one is that STEM illiterate, so my guess is they've simply been using scientific impossibilities as lame plot devices - i.e. the direct opposite of what Dr Stone's writers do. Pity...

I fully enjoyed Scop though 😊

Pretty slow episode, but at least we have Hibana joining the crew. This is one of those shows where I have no idea who to ship, but I guess Shinra and Tamaki would fit together quite nicely.

Now that I'm 10 episodes in, I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed with this season, for the same reason I'm disappointed with Mob Psycho 100 S3. I still like the first 2 seasons, but I wanted a certain thing to happen in this season, and it didn't happen.

So the Great Cataclysm is happening as we speak.

It was funny to hear the Eighth Company talk about the potential romantic matchups and it seems that Shinra has a thing for Iris and Hibana has had a thing for Shinra since their battle back in Season 1. That’s why he’s the only guy that she goes out of her way to be nice to. Companies 2 and 4 are also gonna lend their aid as well.

Scop’s entrance was something, and he has a knack for going on and on before getting to the main point, and it seems that there are more mysteries about what’s going on. I gotta mention though, THAT DUDE WAS OBVIOUSLY PISSED BECAUSE YOU ATE ALL THE POTATOES.

I guess we’ll have to wait for Sho’s reunion with Shinra.

Let’s see how all this goes down.

Sho immediately beelining it out of the Nether when he got his memories of Shinra back is great. He's got to see his brother again before the earth becomes the sun 2.0.

Scop's tale was full of valor and tenacity and unlikely bonds. It's a shame his information wasn't the most helpful, but it's still nice to see him again.

More of Arthur's origins are revealed, and I am loving it. This episode also got me to thinking how some people's fantasies keep them going, and bring out the best in them. It doesn't matter if it is real, it is 'real' to them, and it keeps them going in the right direction. This is true for Arthur, and it's true for a lot of people in the real world. In fact, this can be connected to mental health. In short, if a fantasy reality brings out the best in someome, who are we to burst their bubble?

Honestly before the White Clads take the final step and do their entire cultist scorched earth plan, i lowkey kinda wished we got to see like a couple episodes of them outside of fighting and instead just hanging with each other and bantering, like a one off episode or something that just explored what they do outside of Evangelist activates would be fire.
I also find it cool that White Clads have dedicated Guardians for pillars, i feel like it can also make for some cool short of how various Pillar's and Guardians interact with one another and what they're relationship is like, Charon and Haumea i 100% want to see more off, Shou and Arrow's would be interesting since both seem to be cut from the same cloth, Inca and Ritsu would also be funny to watch especially after learning from this episode they both share the same wave length of crazy.

A relationship talk between the 8th was not what i was expecting in the same meeting as the start of a Dooms Day clock countdown, but Sister Iris being the the one to stir the most i found pretty funny, Shinra folding instantly to her words also felt relatable lol.
Insane respect to see Captain Oubi still his neck out days after his capture to personally meetup with other Squad captains to gain support, similarly so to see how much respect other squad captains have for him and willingness to join arms because of their trust in him despite not knowing the full story so far.
