| It was good episode, but it was annoying to constantly hear Asuka moan at every situation. "I'm Asuka Langley Sohryu." "Nice to meet you." "What Are you, Stupid? (Anta Baka?)" "This is my chance!" "So look at me!!" Reminds me of women who always blame everyone, but themselves for their misfortunes. Still, that Angel that can fuck your psychological levels just with a shining beam is OP! Imagine what it could do if it can spread it to Non-Eva related machines. It would have screwed everyone at NERV. Also, that Elevator scene. Talk about awkward XD Since I'm watching this in BD. I'm guessing these are the director's cut. Gonna be interesting how these ends in 4 episodes. Will they retrieve Spear of Longinus despite already going further from the Earth's location. Rei really stole the show!! Glad she is getting a good amount of cutscenes! Onto the last 4 episodes! |

| That felt like the longest fucking episode. If Asuka is so fed up with everything she could have just taken a page from her mother's book. Maybe I wouldn't have had to sit through the same animation looped like 6 times. |

| I'm surprised that ikari still has some secrets left. Now I can't blame Asuka for being a major tsun. Her childhood was so tough and she even decided not to cry ever again. It's like she's always on the high. And whatever people say, I don't blame Shinji really. He's like this only because of his dad. But still he's trying his best, being compassionate and all. But living life like Rei, like an emotionless doll would probably be the easiest way to deal with their situation. ;_; |

| (original version) they never said what happened to toji??? after the dummy plug unit 01 attacked his eva???? they are using biological words, mitosis, necrosis, apoptosis, to describe the evas now, so they are obviously living beings. how can anyone still choose to work at nerv after seeing how crazy things are over there. it's Messed Up dudes and what, shinji is just back to normal now? the guy literally vanished from this plane of reality and was reborn and that's it? what happened to the psychological explorations this show was doing? i loved that stuff. but nope they just suit him up again and done? also nothing about kaji's death either? people in this show sure love ignoring traumatic events, no wonder they are all repressed as heck rei and asuka were standing in the lift in silence for FIFTY SECONDS then rei started speaking. FIFTY poor asuka though. trying so hard to be independent and do everything herself, when will she accept that needing help is not a sign of weakness and now what is the lance of longinus?? other than it holding adam to the cross |
| (director's cut) i do love asuka's character, and i love all the additional scenes we got in this episode!! especially the bathroom scene. i like seeing the vulnerability she tries so hard to hide behind her loud mouth and confidence, but underneath it all she's just like shinji, she wants attention of any sort, whether it is praise for piloting her eva, sexual attention, etc ASUKA ASKING THE REAL QUESTIONS THANK YOU how is shinji apparently back to normal after literally dematerialising for over a month??????? and this time the elevator scene didn't feel as long?? maybe because i knew it was coming? but all i felt was just a rising tension that exploded when rei finally spoke, it seemed a lot more effective this time round when rei pulled the lance of longinus (what even is that thing) out of adam and he bulged and grew legs..... kinda creepy...... but man everyone in this show is so messed up, nobody is free from mummy and daddy issues lol |
| What a thrilling episode, I've been waiting to see more of very deep character development and this just was a psychological beauty. Feels Asuka's development as a character finaly reached it's absolute peak . She is pretty much a helpless ,poor thing that feels like it was misunderstood this whole time and that scene with her and Rei in the elevator feels such an amazing thing to watch, where we almost get 1 minute of pure silence and already start predicting actions that will happen next. I'l be lying if I won't say that this is one of the best Evangelion episodes out there and the director's cut version probably made it even better. |

WTF is up with Asuka. Asuka and Rei in the elevator. Dat slap. Kensuke. Toji's still in the hospital. An Angel. Asuka launches. LMFAO AT HALLELUJAH CHORUS! Asuka's been defiled. Gendo wants Rei to use the Spear of Longinus. Dat throw. Destroyed it. The spear. Dat ending. LMAO at the Hallelujah chorus playing. Had me dying. So Asuka was on her period. |

| They did Asuka dirty this episode, as if shit wasn't hitting the fan enough for the main cast rn. Some slight hints about her past, and it isn't pretty. Honestly most of it answers well to why she acts like she does now, but it seems even before the attack from the angel, she was suffering from some split personality disorder of sorts. Either way the classical music sure did put salt on that wound, watching Asuka mentally break as classical music played in the back, was not something i imagined myself doing on a Sunday night. The angels are starting to get pretty advanced with each one that appears. Orbital attacks that shoot rays that enter the targets mind, i wonder if there will be a point where, even the Eva's can't keep up. Damn Lance of Longinus sure is one hell of a name for what appears to be an outer space lance that can piece through A.T. Fields like foil. Seems it was also jammed in Adam, however when Rei pulled it out, Adam seemed to have, grown or expanded? Hope more gets revealed on wtf that lance is, and what happens next. |

| I didn't mind the elevator scene. Asuka explained in a monologue just before that she hates everyone, especially Rei. Also, I found fanart of that scene where they turned Asuka into a futanari, so that made it better. What I wasn't a fan of was how many times things looped during the breakdown scenes. "Hi, I'm Asuka Langley Sohryu." will be burned into my memory forever, and I don't know how many times that door was opened. Overall, however, beyond those few issues, this has been the best episode so far. |

| So first, we get to see the past and mental of Shinji, and now it's Asuka. Will Rei be next? Who is she really? I couldn't find the Asuka metal breaking down scene to be serious, not with the song playing in the background. Hallelujah. Rather funny than serious. So this is the elevator scene I've been seeing a lot. Also, things got so serious that they didn't add the opening. |

| Asuka sure taking shots to her ego which is there for a reason. The doll was a great analogy to humans, rei in particular, evas, etc. Then Asuka talking to her eva like a doll as her mother talked to 'Asuka'/doll. I began to empathize with Asuka in this. I understand why she has so much faux pride, competitiveness and jealousy covering her wounds. A lot of this show has so much to do with relationships with parents, growing up and puberty. Psychological warfare from an angel. She's suffering psychological pain just like her mother did. The Hallelujah song along with the movements of the Eva was masterful. I feel like ALL relationships and everyone's psyche can only disintegrate further from this point on. Say whaaaa...'second impact wasn't caused by contact with an angel' ? |

| The elevator scene was so long that I actually started feeling uncomfortable lol. So is no one gonna bring up anything about Kaji? Dude literally sacrificed his life for this organization. Asuka is in a really bad mood. And her periods make it worse I presume. Also that bg music when the angel attacked was like some weird church choir. I was able to pause at one of those flashy texts being displayed when Asuka was attacked and one of them said "Menarche"... The Angel is trying to understand the human mind?!? What even is that spear? Great episode ngl |

| Spooky episode.. I guess Asuka had it pretty rough, but there're still some things I felt weren't really touched on. So after her mother had that psychotic break and ended things, her dad got another wife, but what then? We know Asuka was pretty traumatized after everything and didn't accept the new lady as her mom (and still doesn't even though she plays nice with her over the phone), but what about her dad? He seemed like he cared for her, but I guess she never cared much for him -- or at least as much as she did her mom? They said her mom never paid much attention to her in the first place so it makes sense that she yearned for maternal love, but from the way she acts, I assumed that she didn't even have a dad. Anywho, I guess the only other person she actually enjoyed was Kaji (RIP) and you could say it's because he's a conventionally attractive guy who gave her attention, but I think it's more than that. To an extent, Kaji represented the independent, adult life that Asuka wanted so badly after the incident with her mother. Him rejecting her advances only further troubled her because it reinforced the idea that she was a child who needed someone to take care of her. Tbh, the hallelujah chorus sort of took me out since that's more or less a meme song -- I also liked how we got to see Misato piecing together more Nerv secrets. I think it would be cool to see her continue Kaji's work and expose the truth behind the second impact and Nerv's goals. |

| This was such a mindfuck episode. Also I was watching it at night and those flashes burned my eyes. I really love Atuska, but I hope that she'll get a little less prideful. Yeah her childhood was really hard and I sympathize with her, but that's not a reason to treat others badly. I can't belive that there are only 4 episodes left. I watched this too fast. |
