Can someone remind me, so “arise” power has no limitations on who kill the target?
Because until now I was sure that it was stated somewhere, that for arise someone, Jin-Woo needs to do the kill. Otherwise… why not go on graveyard and “resurrect” everything that is long dead, like a good necromancer?
@dimidrum you will get the answer in season 3

Let's be real the writing is never going to win any prizes, but despite that I have consistently enjoyed this series so far and the OP and EDs have been some great bangers.
The studio hasn't slaked off with the animation either with lots of great sasuga moments.
I am looking forward to the next season, hopefully the wait won't be too long.

1st season was a great adaptation, they cut some things, did small changes but stayed true to the source for the most part. If they had kept the quality then this could've been an easy 9/10, but episode 3-10 have dragged this down to a 7/10. I wonder how s03 will progress (if we get one)... at the rate they're going they could finish up with another 12 episodes. lmao

Very solid end to a solid season. It didn't promise much but it delivered more than we wanted. Can't really complain. Were there faults, sure. But boy was it entertaining.

To be honest I have no idea what people who are talking shit about this show are about. I can understand not liking the type of anime or the story. Even finding it bland and boring. But it's well executed and entertaining. If you don't like this kind of thing, just don't watch. Saying "it's bad" or "boring" is dishonest and downright stupid.

And now we are left with the biggest problem... the temptation to read manga when we know third season is coming, probably in a year's time.

@Memore Exactly. Hopefully. With that level of quality, I'm not so worried.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

It was incredible to see Beru’s transformation in the manhwa, and it’s a pleasure to see him animated again. Great final chapter and I’m looking forward to the continuation.

The limitations were mentioned in S1 when he got his new powers.
The chance of resurrecting something decreases with time. So a graveyard is not a good idea. Also they would be very weak shadow soldiers.
The best is to arise monsters in dungeons.
Also he doesn't have to be the one doing the killing. Basically he's just extracting the soul from the corpses.

No words, an incredible season from start to finish, easily surpassing the first one. Great battles alongside Sung's evolution with each fight. Each episode kept getting better, at times even surpassing the manhwa. Sung faced four major enemies: "Baruka, Kargalgan, Baran, and Beru," all of which had insane animations. The final episode was amazing, building up a huge hype for a potential season 3, which I don't think will take too long. The focus on Sung's face in the final scene was awesome and I actually preferred it in the anime. Anyway, season 10/10 with an easy 10/10 rating, adapting up to chapter 110.

I mean, yeah, was pretty obvious that he was to revive healer bro to save Haein, legit was no need to make that the cliffhanger of last episode but yeah lol. Besides the hype ass fight of last episode ofc, this scene was probably my second favorite scene of the whole raid, Jinwoo cancelling the healer's extraction after he revived Haein that is, as it's just a good scene and interaction between him and Yoonho. After all that's said and done though, it's time to finally leave the island once and for all, with Jinwoo paving the way for everyone in case... though, not before arising some more ants first though xD

But with that, yeah, the raid is officially over now. Not without some last couple cheeky impact frames to fully show off ofc. Really though, they didn't need to go full One Piece for a second there for such a tiny scene lol. Everything else that followed was pretty much just closure to the arc and everything else. Which ofc as well as now that Jeju Island is safe and back to normal, the whole thing that's been setup since the beginning of the show, there needs to be some setup for the next season... which yeah... so excited... And ofc ending right where season one of the manhwa ended as well.

Yeah, after this, to me, this series takes a massive dip in quality, that was already shown a bit with the cracks in the writing departments in this season, but from here on, yeah, it gets really bad. Hope the anime can do something to better that, and I'm pretty sure they will with how much they like to add some new shit, so if they contiue on with that, then maybe, jsut maybe, I'll like it more than the abborhent manhwa's direction.

This season wasn't as good as season one for me, but still pretty enjoyable overall.

ffs went to see peoples ratings and spoilt within the first 2 sentences by a guy with a naruto pfp can today get any worse.
@Flying_Hawlucha Ah yes, I just love when the people that have no profile picture criticize my profile picture!

Enjoyed this a lot more than the first season. Gave S1 an 8. I liked these final episodes so much that I'm going giving S2 a 10. The consistently entertained me for several weeks.

It was nice to see him interacting with the other S-ranked hunters this season instead of doing so much of the level farming he was doing in season 1 which was getting old. So, now that everyone has a good idea who he is, and also now that we've been introduced to these other seemingly powerful characters, moving forward hopefully we can get a bit more plot and a lot less of him trying to clear dungeons by himself.

Ehh it is what it is, it's like a popcorn movie, yeah yeah move on the the pointless drivel of a plot and get on to the next fight. Of cooourse there were more powerful enemies lurking in the shadows, he will obviously need someone to fight now that he has proven more powerful than everyone on Earth. Wonder how the Japanese staff reacted to the politics the author shoved in here with the Japanese being sneaky schemers who got their asses handed to them, while all the Koreans survived. Wonder how long after the Revolution it took for Americans to stop hating the British?

Finally gave us a look at Cha's wounds
LOL yeah you don't survive something like that. 9_9 Also are they really going to have her just lusting after him from afar? Dude saved your life, you're not even go introduce yourself? Korean romances are weird.

I completely agree with you. The final episodes of this season have been nothing short of perfection. You're absolutely right that his increased interactions with other hunters make the story even more engaging.

The next phase should be even better, with stronger adversaries and deeper revelations about the origins of the Gates and how our MC got his powers. Everything will start coming together, making the plot even richer and more intriguing.

I’m really looking forward to more. I know it’s not possible, but I’d love to see Season 3 next year, following in the footsteps of Seasons 1 and 2.

The way Jinwoo managed to heal Cha-san was so smart, extracting the dead S-rank healer to heal her and then canceling it right away, man I was so impressed I never expected this scenario. Looking forward for season 3 hope it doesn't take long. Overally the anime is crazy and worth a 10 but the way Jinwoo is exaggeratedly invincible plus ripping off HxH (that's a tough one XD) I think I'll give it an 8/10.

I actually liked that they brought up that some people are criticizing him, saying that if he had been there from the start then they wouldn't have lost as many lives as they did.

It's great that he saved them & all, but if this was real life, there would definitely be people calling him out on that.

Hell, the whole "aura farming" thing has become a meme irl because of this very thing, so I'm glad it's brought up here.

And with that season 2 of Solo Leveling wraps up. So much happened in the finale. We got to see introduction of China's strongest hunter Liu Zhigang and I must say they introduced him perfectly. Jinwoo can be ruthless but at the same time, he has compassion. He respected the wishes of Baek and after Byun-Hu healed Cha even without even being told to and cancelled the extraction. Truly admirable.

Gotta say Jinwoo really stole the show in the Jeju Island raid. Some saw him as a hero while others say he was responsible for some of the deaths and had he shown up earlier things would have been different but it was thanks to him that the raid was successful. He completely obliterated those ants. Dude just can't stop leveling up and now has hit a milestone level. He's basically flexing at this point.

S3 needs to be announced soon and if they reach that far, we might get to see Jinwoo vs Hwang and Thomas.

Better than previous season. The animation and Hiroyuki Sawano/LiSA OST is putting in a lot of work but this season was more enjoyable since Jinwoo interacted with the other S-ranks more, too bad he made them all look like complete scrubs though, and he resolved the revive mother part of his goal. I hope some of these new potential powerful new character teasers are actually powerful and not "Goto powerful" going forward into season 3.

Short but great funeral scene, with Yoon-ho telling Jinwoo not to listen to the those saying he should've been on the island sooner. It's just a quick interaction but it both shows that Jinwoo is in fact acknowledging that he could've save many more, and that Yoon-ho doesn't hold it against him for not being able to save one of his best friends... and that none of them would even be here today if Jinwoo hadn't shown up at all.

Season 1 is still more impactful overall imo with seeing Jinwoo's rise to power. There's more gripping-the-edge-of-your-seat stuff there than here in season 2 which is more of just pure spectacle. Jinwoo absolutely dominates the battlefield in this season, and of course that's what we all want to see. But honestly, as far as this solid adaptation goes, nothing yet has topped Jinwoo vs. Igris, imho.

Gonna give season 2 a 7/10; solid, highly enjoyable, and excited for more. What would've easily bump it up to an 8/10 would be including the content that was unfortunately cut from the manwha. Nothing was excluded that was absolutely game-changing, but they would've together overall elevate the experience a little bit. That, and maybe having the animation be less.... choppy, and more... fluid? Being totally picky here when the animation is already really good, but idk, was expecting just a little more perhaps? Going back to glazing Jinwoo vs. Igris, something about that fight just made it flow so well, and I didn't quite feel that that essence was captured in any fight here in season 2.

Whatever, grasping at straws here. Solo leveling slaps, recommend it to your new-to-anime friends, and even those not new to anime. Again, a 7/10, and I genuinely think that at least 7 out of 10 people you recommend this to will end up enjoying it. It's just plain old fun, and I'm pretty sure that most anybody can get behind that.

edit: had to come back to my post here because I've been more critical than I should've, and Solo Levelling deserves much more praise than it does critiques. Nothing wrong with this show, just saying it could've easily been even better. But what it does get right? It doesn't do a bad job at all. For this last episode, really like how it was directed. It sets up what is to come, but at the same time feels final and wraps up the season and this arc very satisfyingly. This is probably thanks to Jinwoo's monologue at the end. Which was, an anime original? Idk, maybe someone can clear that up. Speaking of things that are original, yes I griped a bit that they cut a lot of minor content. But now let's switch gears and praise it for the things they ADDED, such as the fight scenes. They didn't just recreate what happened in the manwha, but they've added quite a bit more. Big props to the team at A-1 for this. The soundtrack is killer, don't need to say any more. Jinwoo extracting the healer's shadow? Well done in the anime. They really captured that moment well as the healer (sorry I really don't remember names) giving one last smile as his extraction is cancelled and is set free. Yeah the small things that were not included could've added up, but all the little things that they get right add up to surpass that easily.

So before I go on rambling about nonsense too much again, TL;DR, Solo Levelling could've be even better. But then again, that applies to... pretty much everything. What it is is just a freaking good time that leaves you dying for the next episode. And what more can you ask than that. Still leaving it at a 7/10, but just know that it is a very high 7/10.
