I feel similarly on this ending as I do with Demon Slayer and it's ending, with a few a differences, but generally I get the same question that pops up in my head and it asks "Really?" Above anything else I'm just disappointed. Things like Todo and Nobara coming back were cool but until I realized like we're like right there at the end, it just means so much less now. In Nobara's case, she just conveniently comes back, and helps in landing the cleaning blows. Those last 10 chapters just felt so rushed, and as I went on I just noticed more things like the dumps of text of Sukuna basically doing the same thing and over of realizing he's screwed but he's actually got another move to help prolong the fight EVEN LONGER. I don't really need every single open plot resolved, but there is definitely a lot of things that JJK left me wanting. I think what makes it more disappointing is that the parts I liked, I REALLY liked, but the lows, were pretty low. I think overall I still like the manga, but right now that ending definitely soured my perception of the series. I think in a few months I'll check how I feel on it.

This chapter itself was really good with the Gojo section and Sukuna's conclusion. I also liked the final panel. Unfortunately it's hard to look at this chapter alone knowing what this series could've been

meh ending on meh series. was interesting on it's art and action scene, but then it get overly convoluted for it's own good, resulted in never ending narration because they have to explain it somehow. 6/10, fine time wasting, not much invested on it.

I'm beyond disappointed. There is so much he could have done with the ending and he wasted it on a random story of the couple getting stalked by a curse user.
You can't change my mind that Gege actually hates JJK. He wanted it to be over. JJK could have changed the shounen world but Gege ruined it with a complete mid ending.

amazing how many haters this manga have brought together.

anyways, solid shounen. it's quite original in its unoriginality, great and memorable characters, and a extremely well thought out power system

its strong points is obviously the fights: they're cruel, unpredictable and, instead of the usual "i punch harder and more consistently than you" that 99,9% shounens have; in jjk the characters come up with smart and believable plans and that's the funniest part of it.

the weak points goes to the mumble jumble of cursed technique/domains/cursed energy, you can see Gege was having a hard time transcribing her brain to the pages. It's fine tho, this is literally her first manga.

a new classic is finally over, people will definitely read this in 20 years time. For me, it's timeless.

Another mainstream Shounen ends and on the same note as it's predecessors, complains about a bad final arc and a bad ending.

The manga clearly peaked at Shibuya but I still found the Culling Games and Shinjuku entertaining with some really great moments (Maki vs Zenin clan, Hakari vs Kashimo, Yuuta's colony, Yuuki and Choso vs Kenjaku, Sukuna's enchain). Culling Games could have benefitted with a not so linear writing and giving more to Yuji to do but overall I like it. As for Shinjuku, it also had some really great moments like Gojo vs Sukuna, Yuji and Yuuta vs Sukuna and everything that came after Yuji's Black Flash rush. I do agree that Kenjaku was kinda wasted and the Sukuna fight got repetitive during the initial gauntlet (and I didn't liked how predictable the Kashimo and Higuruma fights went, specially how wasted Kashimo also was) but overall, I did like the arc and enjoyed most of it and had a lot of fun reading each week.

Of course, Jujutsu did have it's issues and that was the writing, it lacked in character interactions and developing the plot better but this is an issue that was present since the beginning. Jujutsu Kaisen selling point was always the cool characters and the awesome fights while it had a more simple story and the is nothing wrong with it, not every single manga needs to have a complex story (specially because some failed horribly at this). Its the same thing I thought with Demon Slayer where people started complaining (after the rise is popularity with the anime) about being carried by Ufotable animation. In the end I expect Jujutsu to be better received with the anime.

As for the ending, the resolution of the Sukuna fight could be better. I wouldn't have brought Nobara back and instead make Sukuna fail at expanding his Domain, this way Yuji can win by himself (after his bravado it was kinda lame he needed Nobara to save his ass) and it also connects to all the effort done by the gang, specially Gojo. And I would have given a proper conversation tu Sukuna and Yuji at the end. For what came after, yeah it was handled poorly, Gege failed at showing the coping with the consequences of that fight (Gojo and Choso's death), he didn't explain what will happen with Japan now that curses are public knowledge and the US invading (we only had Maki saying they would rescue the kidnapped people). As for Jujutsu Society, it could have been explained better but I guess it kinda got addressed with the death of the higher ups, the Zenin clan extermination and the new approach of the survivors regarding education instead of monopolizing knowledge, equipment and secret techniques. The final chapter gave some closure to Yuji, Sukuna and Gojo which were the highlight of this last three chapters.

It was a fun ride, with high and low moments as expected, but overall I really enjoyed this series for what it was (like Demon Slayer), really liked the power system, cool characters and the fights. My only issue with the manga was the last three chapters really but all in all it wasn't a horrible ending (Horikoshi really did Deku dirty) and the final arc was still better than some the likes of Bleach, FT, Magi, MHA and NNT (this one is the King of shitty final arc).

I will wait for the next seasons of the anime and pray Mappa does them justice.

@Thunder_lol MAL counts extra chapters in their official chapter count (for example AOT has 141 instead of 139), and sometimes those can be released in physical volumes. JJK's final volumes come out in December so they cannot give it a final chapter count and mark it as completed until then.

JJK really peaked in Shibuya, but the maki arc really felt deserved. Everything after that just slowly started to fall off. The anime surely does justice to the series more than the manga did.

@Yumacchi The Maki part in the culling game is the worst of the worst. Random power ups out of nowhere, a giant clan reduced to a joke, and yet her power amounted to what? 7 pages against Sukuna.

Disney kaisen is real but i do appreciate some things here :

- gege admitting he's bad at drawing through the mangaka guy (chapter 270)
- mahito sulking like a child
- gege trying to deny gojo thirsty fans and trying to make yuji the mc (honestly 90% of the time i forgot that he's the mc)
- wide eyed nobara
- jujutsu zero gang back together
- sukuna admitting defeat even after all the uraume glazing few chapters ago

For a work that's inspired by bleach both ended in a similiar manner. None are better than the other. Had fun with both just disappointed with the ending. If gege comes back with part 2 i will still read it. But if he writes a new series nah not again.

The final convo we see between Yuji and Gojo was beautiful. Seeing Gojo's dream come into fruition. He changed the Jujutsu world. Sukuna admitted his defeat in how he lived. Yuji changed the king of curses view on life. Yuta will forever wear the scar of Kenjaku. Safe to say that the future is bright with Gojo's students around. At least finally, he'll be looked back at as more than a monster or a weapon.

Thank you Gege.

Unfinished storylines and unanswered questions are common issues in battle shounen, especially in series that deal with complex world-building and a large cast. JJK is no exception to this. Characters like Megumi and Nobara had potential for further exploration. While Megumi’s story saw some developments toward the end, Nobara, in particular, felt somewhat unsatisfying, which can be a common pitfall in battle shounen where some characters get more focus than others as the series approaches its end. While I wouldn’t list it as a notorious example, I would have preferred some foreshadowing before her return, as it is, I would consider it bordering on a deus ex machina. I was also expecting a deeper dive into aspects like Sukuna’s origin.

I do believe Jujutsu Kaisen will be remembered as a solid, well-executed series, while it may not have reinvented the wheel, it did an excellent job of refining the existing battle shounen formula. One of the standout elements of JJK, cursed techniques, I found to be an intricate and well-thought-out power system. It had a fast-paced plot that kept readers engaged without the fatigue of slower arcs. And it did well to balance its dark, horror-inspired themes with light-hearted and comedic moments, which is critical in modern shounen. It ends on a relatively positive note, with an emphasis on friendship, legacy, and overcoming curses, this to me feels in line with the spirit of many battle shounen. JJK’s decision to end on a hopeful note cements its place as a classic, uplifting shounen at heart, even amid its darker themes. The ending feels fitting and I am somewhat satisfied with it.

Honored its biggest inspiration and decided to go out with a whimper. Bleach is getting buffed by the anime adaptation and i expect Mappa to do the same with Jjk; but this last stretch of the manga doesnt really stand up on its own nearly as well as it should.

Will probably check out Gege's next manga if its different enough but if its just another battle shounen/similar, i will assume its just another product from the same brand of mediocrity and move on.

The ending was fine enough. I would have preferred less characters to miraculously not be dead, since it kind of takes away from their supposed sacrifices, but I otherwise can't really see how else it would have really changed the ending without dragging everything on even longer. There are way too many people here who can't be satisfied by anything.
