But there is a significant difference in information content between "she rejected me" or "I'm in the friendzone now". The latter often implies that the person is still communicating with their love interest on a friendship level. The former just means that you got rejected and might imply you're not planning to even talk to them again; e.g. asked her out, got rejected, moved on. In summary, the latter provides more information, and is thus a useful concept. |

| All of my best friends over the years have been male. It always ends in either me or him (usually him) falling in luv, or at least wanting something more. And the opposing party never seems to want the same thing, so the friendship either slowly dies, or just ends abruptly. Kind of ironic how I always seem to end up loving the guys who don't seem to have any interest, as opposed to the ones that do. It just makes me wish I could get a female best friend now, because I've got a feeling that male BFFs are just never gonna last. Unless they happen to prefer dick perhaps. |
