Final episode next week!
I wonder what kind of setup they're going to do, if they are doing a 2nd season of this (wonder if it'll be a 2 cour also)

Poor Dictus losing her teeth randomly mid banter LOL

Winning live wasn't a unique song this time huh, instead they used Next Frontier.

Lookin forward to next week!

Congratulations, Oguri Cap.

Super Creek's disqualification in this episode was a reference to the counterpart real-life event where she was disqualified from the race by cutting Mejiro Durren's path.

What an amazingly intense and at the same time wholesome race! Oguri finally entered the Zone and surpassed Tama while having fun racing side by side.

The Winning Live is always a treat in this franchise and this is definitely it.

Absolutely loved this episode, I knew the results thanks to the donut eating contest in season 1, but I was curious to see how Super Creek would get DQ'd, though I thought she'd be closer to 1st place. One more episode left of the season sad to see it go. Hopefully we'll get more uma anime in 2026 whether it be CG S2, Starblossom or an ONA.

Here we are at the episode which is kinda the culmination of everything, and I don't have much to say, because the show did it all. Race sakuga moments, backstory segments, usual inspirational dialogue, thanksgiving speech and a winning live!

They really stretched the part of the race that didn't happen for even 1 min irl to about 15 min, though flashbacks and spectator observations run amok. I really wished they showed how Tamamo came from really nowhere, and nobody expected anything. It was worse than Oguri, including some horrible debut performances. But that's the thing Ig, this is the most Tama chan will get as a temporary deuterogonist.

Beautiful hug at the end, and all game players know they became roommates in Tracen dorms. It will be cool if the next episode shows Tama chan becoming Oguri's roommate. Although it is named "New Era", which means
tease?!

Irl Tamamo Cross wasn't in the best shape for this race and there was sulking from his camp about the loss not showing his true capabilities, despite being good friends with Oguri camp. Meanwhile his retirement was a decision from the owner (represented by sick old man in the anime), because he wanted to see Tama's offsprings before he passed away.

I like how they even kept Soccer Boy Dicta Striker losing a tooth from irl event.

Meanwhile hard lesson for Creek. That was one big horse and referees will always see these maneuvers as "blocking".

Comparative weight of Creek compared to Ogurin and Tama [1998 Arima Kinen]: Creek: 518 Kg, Ogurin: 492 Kg, Tama: 448 Kg

The "Next Frontier" winning live was a pleasant surprise. Sundays gonna feel very empty after next week.

Ngl, it was so difficult to notice Creek blocking Durren from this video. Either way that's the IRL race in 1988 x

Shout-out to Jun Fujiwara (Gen Kondou) for having fantastic a 3/3 of banger episodes this year. The hype is definitely worth it.

Honestly, I was kinda sad that they didn't do "BRIGHTEST HEART" for the winning live, but I guess the song wouldn't work well as a trio. Not to mention Tamamo and Dictus wouldn't really relate to the lyrics either. Nonetheless, "NEXT FRONTIER" is a lovely choice, and I wholeheartedly love that song when playing Pretty Derby.

This episode is a certified CRYBABY/10.

@dazedcowcow62 the thing is, "Brightest Heart" is a solo song. "Next Frontier" is a Winning Live song reserved for the Tenno Shos and Arima Kinen.

Oh. My. Goodness.
Pure peak, my bois.
Goatguri flashing back to what her mom said and realizing who she needs to surpass is herself had me smiling. When she entered her Zone, I was smiling.
When she crossed the finish line and opened up to Tama always being her rival and goal and Tama saying the same and they hugged, I shed a tear. Cinderella Gray part 2 was gonna be a 9/10 for me but because of this episode, I'll be giving it a 10/10 when this cour is done.
T3 anime this season for me overall and it's not even close.
Holy peak. The performance at the end was even gold, haha. Loved it.
Congratulations, Goatguri. ❤️❤️ Proud of you.

@Laplace_kun "New Era" meaning it's not about "her" tease. It's about handing over a peak horse era from Tamamo to Oguri. But, we will see "her" as a tease.

Oguri finally did it. She entered the zone. Grey phantom. Dicta Striker is also hella cool but girl has no luck, at all. I hope we see her and Oguri compete properly someday. But for now I'm just glad Oguri won. Look how far she has come.

Fantastic end to the Arima Kinen, and an amazing win for Oguri Cap, she did end up reaching the zone after all and had a great moment with Tamamo Cross before the end of the race, even if it makes no sense that they’d have that conversation lol, I guess it’s more of a reflection of their state of minds rather than it actually happening, and it’s anime so I can’t really nitpick that lol. What I can nitpick tho is that Oguri reaching the zone was kinda unsatisfying imo, the moment she reached it was really good but then it didn’t really do anything for her in the race, she was already in the lead before reaching the zone, Tamamo was right alongside her before and after, so for that reason I feel like it could’ve been done better, however everything else was very well done.

As for Dicta Striker, that hit to the head had to catch up to her eventually, I thought she’d fall all the way to last for that reason but she maintained 4th anyway, which then became 3rd because of Super Creek’s disqualification, you gotta wonder how well Dicta woulda done had she not hurt herself but that’s real life baby, some really unexpected things can happen, but at least she came out of the race feeling good which was apparent from her moment with Oguri, that chipped tooth is unfortunate tho lol. Going back to Super Creek tho, a real shame she got disqualified, her one maneuver late into the race broke the rules apparently, a bit surprised she didn’t think about that as someone that’s supposed to be really good at timing, but that’s another real life moment for ya, at least she has a great trainer in her corner to cushion the hurt tho.

And that was a very nice Winning Live, I wish we coulda got it in full, uninterrupted by other characters talking, but we did get a good bit of it still, Oguri sure was dazzling up there on the big stage, she really deserves to be there, Dicta and Tamamo were great as well. And now we just have one episode of this cour left, not ready to say goodbye to Uma Sundays once again but I’m looking forward to the finale, hopefully we can get a Season 2 announcement too.

I liked the episode, but too many flashbacks ruined the pacing for me. Not gonna sugarcoat it, the oguri x tama talking heart to heart during the last 100 meters like they're freaking naruto and sasuke is too shonen for my taste. Other than that, it's still a good, intense and emotional episode.

Damn I knew Creek did something bad when she switched lane, maybe because she was too close to another uma musume which wasn't the case with Obey.

The idol sequence is a bit funny because Dicta still has a missing tooth lol

Next episode is the last and I'm guessing it's gonna be a slow closure for the season.

Next Frontier is a fitting song for Oguri's first G1 win since this also marks the beginning of a new era after her first true rival Tamtam decided to retire. They are pretty much head-to-head all the way to the finish line. Oguri managed to figure out her purpose in racing, which also successfully draws out her best to win the race. Too bad for Creek, she's swinging too much this time so she got disqualified as a result. Dicta's last spurt animation looks just like Jungle Pocket's from the BNA movie lmao.

Oguri you beauty!

Absoloute cinema.

Finally unlocking Phantom gray. Dicta going full ham with Shooting bullet. Creek making her way through in the middle. Tamamo thundering across with white lightning.
What a four way dead lock it was. Phenomenal.

Unfortunately Dictas injury caught upto her, loosing so much blood on top of that her previous injuries. There was no way she would be able spurt all the way.

Tamamo and Oguris last minute conversations was just chefs kiss. The throwback from their childhood, acknowledging each other as eternal rivals. It was bittersweet considering how tamamo didnt want it to end, so much she wanted to do but this is her final race at the end of the day.
I loved how the last run there was no aura no hype just pure running from both of them, just enjoying the moment and having fun in the final moments of Arima kinen. Really hit in the feels.

Oguri finally winning her G1, giving a big hug to tamamo as a friend and eternal rival <3 Really had me in tears.

Tamamo you will always be the aura queen!

I feel bad for dictus she really gave it her all and even lost her teeth lol. Hope her injuries arent severe.

Poor Creek also got disqualified for blocking, props to nase for cheering her up and supporting & encouraging her for the future. Good stuff.

I was surprised with them using next frontier for the concert but yea still enjoyable, its one of the favorites.

Oguris thank you speech again made me emotional especially her mom watching and smiling. Also kitahara in tears seeing how much oguri has come far, from the clumsy first win dance to this stage.

Also shoutout to belno again, she has been the biggest supporting pillar to oguri from the start to the end.

Great episode to commemrate oguris biggest achievement. Congrats to the glutton queen!

This episode was very special. One of the best of the franchise IMO. I kept thinking that uma musume would benefit greatly by having seasons of more of one cour and the delivery here was amazing. I think it would've been even more amazing if they had combined this episode and the lats one as a 40-minute long special... though knowing how anime production is that might've been too demanding...

Uma musume is surprisingly light with the terminology. I watched this episode with Netflix's JP subs and apart from some racing terms here and there it's pretty easy to understand for my level of the language. i think i'll rewatch some of the earlier seasons in JP.

Next Frontier as ending song!! it's my favorite song in the game, i never skip the concert for the grand prix. I felt that making Striker dance after that injury might've been a bit too harsh from the URA's part, but looking up the IRL horse apparently it wasn't that hard enough of a hurt to cause retirement, so I assume its depiction was mostly an exageration here in these last two episodes.

Edit: I read it wrong, Soccer Boy did retire after this, thank god!

I was wondering if they were even going to play the DQ route with Super Creek in Uma, but they did.

That being said, this was easily one one of the best episode of the season (all anime), so the workup to this seems to be worth it. They even covered the injury to Soccer Boy (Dicta)

but... they were just so cute as little umas

What an amazing finale to this race! It was very hype, especially when Dicta Striker unleashed her spurt. The animation for this moment felt like it came straight out of the Uma Musume movie from last year and it looked insane! It was a shame that she lost strength towards the end.

But I'm really, REALLY glad that Oguri Cap finally won, not only against Tamamo Cross on her third attempt, but also her first G1 race. The moment the two of them shared with each other after the race was really sweet and touching. It was a shame that Super Creek got disqualified for her earlier move, which looked far less offensive compared to what Michelle My Baby did to Oguri in the Japan Cup, but regardless, her performance was still pretty good.

Not sure how the last episode will play out, but regardless of what happens, I see myself scoring this second cour in Cinderella Grey very highly.
