I counted about 30 different Anime Nominees and there are 22 Awards. AoT, KnY, SxF, Cyberpunk, LycoReco, and Ousama Ranking are in basically every single Category. Once again, the Best Anime ever made, Mushoku Tensei, is getting shafted and isn't even an Anime of the Year Nominee. Summertime Render isn't even Nominated in any category LMAO. Thoughts on the Nominees?

I very much like Mushoku Tensei a lot for the sole and unique reason that it has a female character who wears a Battle Bikini Armor called Vierra.

very disappointed, they should be more diverse and not just take some of the popular options for everything :/ In some categories I didn't vote cause non of them felt like they should win. xb And how did the anime about music not get into any music category? Healer girl didn't leave any impact at all? Definitely wish summertime render had gotten something. I would also have liked to see Chainsaw man, eminence in shadow and my hero academia in at least one category. I kind of feel like they should put up restrictions so one anime can't be nominated for more than a certain amount of categories, that way more anime could get a chance to be on it and the most popular (according to judges) wouldn't be put into everything, instead they would have to decide which categories they would fit the best into.

It has long seemed to me that the Crunchyroll Awards are deliberately made pathetic and lame, because this is something like a meme. I still remember how they threw Yuri on Ice in half of the categories or promoted someone's favorite ship from Bakarina in the nomination of the best canon couples.

Bleach wasn't nominated because it aired on Fall, it has nothing to do with the fact that it was on Hulu.
Plus there's a bunch of shows that aren't even on Crunchyroll that got nominated, like Cyberpunk and Komi-san from Netflix or Paripi Koumei and Call of the Night from Hidive.

Also, what illegal sites are hosting their own awards? I genuinely wanna know because I don't know any.

Polish sites, they have votings etc. some doesn't, I can't say for english ones as I only check seasonals there.

Fall season is still 2022, so they didn't include something which is supposed to be there. I don't care if they include it in 2023, an anime which aired in 2022 should be included for awards of 2022. That strategy seems to me very stupid on the same level as not allowing Tron Legacy to be nominated for Oscars because of CGI [If I remember correctly]. I wasn't saying about Bleach not being in Crunchyroll cause I've noticed Cyberpunk there, and didn't notice anything else from Fall.

Which is another Anime Awards now in "2022" which has 0 interest for me. Here's example of one Polish site and all the votings they held - https://shinden.pl/pool , so far they haven't added for year 2022, the newest one with those 26 categories is for Fall 2022 voting. [Yes in that site is a voting for every season and than for whole year, which is why I like it more than this weird CR stuff]

When you click the purple title you'll see the stats which also shows what users voted [age, gender etc.]

I think it's kind of understandable that most of the nominees are well-known and popular since that's what most anime fans watch, but I do agree that it would be nice to have some more unpopular anime as options as well.

My votes for the 2023 Awards:

Best Character Design:
Cyberpunk Edgerunners
I was initially going to pick Stone Ocean for sure, but later thought "wouldn't that count as 2021 instead of 2022?" so I ended up choosing my 2nd choice Cyberpunk Edgerunners instead. I also really love the character design of Lucy from Cyberpunk, Jolyne from Stone Ocean, and Yor Forger from Spy x Family.

Best Opening Sequence:
"Hadaka no Yuusha" (Ousama Ranking)
Zankyou Sanka is definitely my favorite from those choices, but I think that one counts as 2021 instead of 2022 if I'm not mistaken, so I went with my 2nd choice Hadaka no Yuusha.

Best Ending Sequence:
"Heart wa Oteage" (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - Ultra Romantic)
Yep, I'd say this is probably top 5 best ending sequences of 2022 that I've seen. Great option!

Best Anime Song:
"My Nonfiction" by Makoto Furukawa, Konomi Kohara (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - Ultra Romantic)
This isn't exactly my #1 pick personally, but I do think it's one of the best ED songs of 2022. It's definitely my favorite from those available choices.

Not sure about the other categories though since I haven't seen that many 2022 anime.

My thoughts are the same as always; I care less about the crunchyhole awards than I do literally every other awards, and I already don't care about those to begin with. All award shows are just glorified jerkoff sessions and honestly at this point I'm surprised everyone doesn't get a trophy just for being nominated.

I pretty much gave up of being an avid anime watcher so don't know much about it to get mad at something. However I did noticed something weird: Fall anime aren't in there. Chainsaw Man and Mob Psycho were a must and they not being in there means they aren't considering anime from Fall. Which is weird since Fall anime have won in previous editions

This year's Crunchyroll Awards is some of the most pathetic stuff I've ever seen, geez. Here's some absurdities I've noticed:

* They nominated Spy x Family for pretty much everything, including making a new category (Must Protect) just so they can award Anya.
* NO FALL 2022 ANIME NOMINATIONS AT ALL. This is absurd, you're snubbing some of the best shows of the year and basically 25% of anime content of 2022.
* What is the point of nominating Mushoku Tensei and 86? These shows are from 2021.
* Lycoris Recoil nominated for AOTY when acclaimed shows like Kaguya and Made in Abyss (which are arguably at their peaks right now) were not. This is a fucking joke.
* I'm sure they tried to snub Made in Abyss as much as possible just like they did with Mushoku Tensei and Idaten Deities in 2021 because of their controversial content. What a bunch of normies.
* Once again, these awards seem to be based on popularity and CR is not even trying to hide it anymore.

Damn, I thought the Oscars were bad, I thought the Game Awards were bad, but this takes the cake...

Surprised that Chainsaw Man didn't show up in any of the categories, I was very much expecting this year's awards to be the "Chainsaw Man is awesome" awards. Definitely relieved that that won't be the case.

JoJo was predictably snubbed though. STONE OCEAN ED2 isn't even nominated for best ending, SMH. :(

I'm slightly disappointed that Stone Ocean wasn't nominated for Anime of the Year, but at least it was nominated for best continuing anime and best action anime.

That said, I mostly don't care. Just like the Game Awards, I'll mostly be watching it for the new anime announcements and trailers. I don't care much for the actual award show portion of it.

2) Still one of the dumbest choices CR could've made. And they'll only be next year if CR doesn't change their rules yet again.
3) This is false. Ranking of Kings was a Fall 2021 show and snatched plenty of nominations last year, including AOTY.

"Thoughts on the Nominees?"

At least they are keeping to their trashy traditions...(for example pushing the stinkiest one - Lycoris Recoil in every category).

PS
I wonder which version of "My Nonfiction" they nominated in Best Anime Song? The one from the show (which is more likely), or the one from the ending (not sure if it's performed by the VAs too)?

PS PS
On a positive note they have nominated The Orbital Children, Uncle from Another World and The Deer King.

It’s ridiculous to see AoT in almost every single category. Other than Dance Dance Danseur, the rest of the nominees are very popular shows. My jaw dropped when I saw Summertime Render because that has to be THE worst show of 2022, but hey what can I say? When were the Crunchyroll nominees ever good? They just get weaker by the year.

I guess my anime of the year vote is either Cyberpunk or LycoReco. I wish Made in Abyss Season 2 made it but sadly not.

Damn one of the worst anime I have ever watch Mushoku Tensei didn't get any big nominations oh well.
