| I would like to preface this by saying that I do in fact enjoy the show. I noticed that a group of people think that watching and enjoying LOGH makes them "elite," or whatever. There are exceptions with people like Higashi, aeonic, gholy, and Yeezus, who are cool people. But generally, I noticed that LOGH has a fanbase full of people who think they are the arbiters of good taste. Has anyone else on MAL noticed this phenomenon? Why do people think that enjoying this show in particular makes them more intelligent than say....someone who enjoys Naruto or Sword Art Online? |

| Meh. I never got it too. The show is quite simple, and not as complicated/intellectual as some of the fans claim it to be. There are quite the few answers I think, but I'll go with "They deceive themselves into believing thinking that watching something old with faux-politics and a mature cast makes for an objectively great, intellectual show." |
| Not having watched LOGH, im sure that it gives you more to think about then Naruto or SAO, at least when it comes to wits, or so i would say given the way the show is often portrayed by many of mal users, althought that shouldn't justify any sense of 'elitism' |

| I don't find these people on MAL. I find them on YouTube and Hummingbird. Truthfully, I think that these people think they're smart because it's a good show that's old and isn't popular at all. It also helps knowing that it is a show about "smart' characters. Sure there are shows that are kind of like it, like Death Note and Code Geass but LOGH is better than both. Legend of the Galactic heroes is a pretty straight forward show. I don't know why anyone would boast about their intelligence while watching a show that has a narrator literally tells you everything while the action is right in your face. People should read the Ravages of Time. It's what Legend of the Galactic Heroes would be like if it didn't spell everything out for the viewer and was actually complicated. |
