| YES. Steins:Gate is very good.. But is not that exceedingly good that someone else claimed. It is definitely better than your standard anime, but I can name a few that is DEFINITELY better than it. HERE: 1. Shinsekai Yori - The ending is freaking amazing, and the plot holes is not as large as in Steins:Gate. This one made me tear up in the end.This anime should be a REQUIRED VIEWING for any people that wants to learn how an anime could transcend medium. 2. Any works of Satoshi Kon. My favorite director known for his mindscrew. 3. Mawaru Penguindrum - If symbolism is your thing, MP is definitely one of the better in the last 5 years. The ending is bittersweet. It is an intellectual anime that you need analyzing. It made me smart. 4. Baccanno! - One of the most critically acclaimed anime on the last 10 years. Baccano! is awesome and there is no boring parts of it. You owe yourself this one. etcc.. AND THE ELEPHANT ON THE ROOM.. Cowboy Bebop - I still have not found an anime that is better over all than this masterpiece. From direction, to acting to writing, there is no better than this. SUMMARY: Steins:Gate is good, but there are certainly better animes than this. There are still lot to explore, and I think you will benefit from watching other anime too. |

| I used to be like you. Steins;Gate used to be a personal favourite of mine. I loved it from the first episode while it was airing where the show was getting very little attention and when it was, people weren't liking it. When the show finished, I thought to myself "wow, never will I find something I like more than this." Then I kept watching anime and realised that Steins;Gate, while good, isn't nearly as good as what most people would consider the best of the medium. Also in retrospect, Steins;Gate is pretty poorly made for an anime because it retains much of it's visual novel style, though it does tell a very good story. I'm not going to recommend stuff to you though as I'm sure as you keep watching anime, you'll find stuff you enjoy more than Steins;Gate. I did. And as you find more stuff you like, you'll realise it was just a phase. Or maybe not. |
