| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well this was like the third movie like I remembered with Major and the intimacy she shared with Akira. Too bad for the assassin that went after her though. But yeah, this episode probably highlighted the most often that she showed human emotion imo out of all the episodes so far. It looks like Batou rean into some trouble of his own though while Akira is confronted by Major. |

| So episode 1 and 2 comes after this episode 8?? It's a bit confusing for newcomers that haven't watched the movie like me. Anyway, I guess I'll rewatch the first two, as this series really got me into GiTS after so much time only hearing about it... If not for the confusing cronology of the first two episodes, I'd say that's a great way to start watching it. The philosophy about fake memories and what constitutes a human being in a heavy sci-fi enviroment its very nice, moreso now that we use so many devices and smartphones all the time, it could be thought inducing for some. And Kusanagi talking about "wanting someone to tell her she isn't a robot" was sweet too... I also like a lot how they're able to fit so much in a 30 minute episode without feeling too much rushed, shootouts, questioning, investigation, the conspiracies and the infodump on the futuristic world background... All seem to flow very seemingless scene after scene. So... maybe I'll start Stand Alone Complex after the last two episodes and the 2015 movie? Let's see if I find the time. Great series so far. |

There were a few a lines that really show how much of an oddity Togusa is to the team and why having him makes him valuable. One notable omission was when Togusa confronts Motoko about her boyfriend, she threatens him and insults his human eyes. It lessens the impact when she comes to him later and asks what his eyes see, since as a human, there are things he sees that cyborgs don't notices. yeah in every episode there were these removals of scenes, some unimportant, some that take away from future events a little (like the one you stated) i watched the ovas right before this came out...so i just kinda skimmed each episode after watching the first 3 or 4 |

| Yeah i didn't like this episode. Major in a dress, being swayed by her emotions thus affecting her judgement. It was an awesome revelation that Major used to be a guerrilla commander way back in the day. Next two episodes are the new content called "Pyrophoric Cult". It'll explore the Fire Starter hacker that started in "Ghost Stands Alone" arc :) |

| Thus ended the intriguing mystery of the guerrilla Scylla and the issues that revolved around him. An arc not bad, which should be evaluated for other aspects only hinted at, such as the evolution of cybernetics and all that is connected to it; an aspect that has always worried me, since I saw the first GITS film. |
