@ZXEAN anime always simplify the artstyle or character design to be animation friendly

plus the colors are great
@deg Let me correct myself "Over simplified".

No the colour looks dull.

@Infernalization Haven't you seen the PV. They simplified the artstyle as usual and the colour is bit off.
@ZXEAN It's a 44 second preanimated PV. The trailers which actually represent the anime will be shown somewhere later in 2024. I remember people being disappointed in Production I.G. when the 1st PV released in December and them being relieved with the trailer which dropped in August.

@Infernalization according to some its not preanimated pv since there is no staff credits (like different staff) on the pv this time

@ZXEAN It just doesn't make sense because we're talking about a studio with a clear art style, and we have a list of names and a teaser that highlight that the anime, whatever it is, will follow the studio's style. This would only make less sense if we were talking about the KyoAni or Trigger show.

@RobertBobert Mm, that seems to just come down to preference. I can't say too much because I'm not super interested in the anime so I apologize for being a brick wall here haha. It's sad when what you expect doesn't match the director's vision, it could be worse anime adaptations could be like Hollywood adaptations lol. I was really scared when I first saw the Dororo announcement because at the time I thought of MAPPA as yaoi studio. Not to say that's totally comparable, I just mean to say that it's a valid concern to worry about the staff, studio, creative vision, and such. You're right that SARU doesn't tend to stay on model all the time, or in some shows cases most of the time.
@Teirayo Well, MAPPA was originally conceived as a studio for bold experiments and attempts to help less-than-financially ideal projects. Apparently BL is really popular among the authors of such shows :D.

@Infernalization If we can only wait for the full trailer, then I think people have the right to have both high hopes and low ones. Because as you yourself said, we still have a minimum of information.

Since it’s Science Saru, this most likely be a 12 episodes series and probably won’t get a season 2. It’s their first manga adaptation(i think) so who knows.

@Park_Pierce Devilman was also a manga, by the cult mangaka Go Nagai. Although, as is usually the case with his works, the anime was its own interpretation of story.

@Infernalization Has anyone ever said something like that about Doga Kobo? Yes, people criticized some of their shows, but I don't remember anyone criticizing the studio itself as a whole. Recently one dude called them a studio with no name and he was literally roasted. People literally consider them the kings of CGDCT anime.

This was a long time coming lmao!
I did have this on an interest stack for predicting future anime adaptations. Here's the accolades (if you care)

@RobertBobert in pv I thought they only changed colours a little bit, though they’re practically the same as on covers of manga. And night scenes (I’m talking about first building scene and Ayase’s kick scene). Body colours reminded me of monogatari movies artstyle, and they seem to stick to original artsyle of monsters and humans.

Person in charge of monster design designed mp100 characters and for character design it’s inuyashiki’s and shingeki no bahamut’s designer.

Person in charge of script also worked on CSM and JJK, we already know that they saved original story literally showing plot from every panel of manga.

Director worked on devilman and some episodes of shows of this studio before, but it’s seems to be their’s first time work in that position. Idk if it’s a good decision or not, but we’ll see.

Also by their art for this anime we can see all monsters from original manga and it’s in artstyle of original work, like literally looks like cover from original work.

Overall, I have a hopes, but we’ll see everything we need on trailer. Though, shueisha started to really advertise this manga, as I can see, they even sponsored gigguk. It’s somewhat very popular right now in japan, but by actions of shueisha with their manga plus app and everything else, they might start actively working towards western audiences imo, maybe they realised how big it is outside of japan and how much more money they can get, so I think they might (and probably will) do something if this anime will be trashed on the internet.

So if analysing by actions of shueisha towards this manga and stuff working on this project, it is REALLY promising. And they for sure will not let one of their top manga turn into trash because of mid adaptation. So even director might be talented young dude (hopefully without weird aesthetic ideas)

@Zipzup3781 I didn't say it would be a bad anime, just that the "studio has no influence on it" argument made no sense in this case.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

@tragedydesu tbh that tag is a bit of a reach. The romance between the two main characters is actually really well done, one of the better handled romances in a 'battle shonen' series in a longgg time. I recommend it!

The description seems pretty interesting but so far I haven't liked anything that came from Science saru (except Heikei Monogatari which was still very confusing), it just ends up being really abstract and weird.
I read the first volume last month, it's actually really good and the main duo has great chemistry.

As for Science Saru, have you watched Keep Your Hands Off the Motion Pictures Club? The first episode is also really good, I'd say give them another chance with that show.

deg said:
i hope the PV is not preanimated because its too good

plus new fans will be happy if its like that in the PV too on model always and have smooth animation best of both worlds for them but that kind of animation needs a lot of production time so im not expecting it to be that consistent in later episodes

if its 2 cour i hope its split cour to have some enough production time
Indeed, let's just hope for the best.
