| that was definitely the weakest episode so far, don't really care about mechamaru and i don't like mahito, so majority of the episode was on two characters i don't care about lol but that gurren lagann type effect and some shots were cool. get in the fucking eva koukichi! whole ass mecha fight. but gojo is here now so it'll definitely get better. |

| Good ep. RIP Mechamaru. Some of those fight scenes definitely gave me Gurren Lagann vibes! Although the animation was a bit hard to see at times. Some of the explanations were a bit complicated. Keen for next ep. |

| The fight between Mechamaru and Mahito was an absolute spectacle in terms of animation and visuals. I couldn't agree more that this had huge Evangelion and Gurren Lagann vibes. At certain points it almost seemed as if Mechamaru had the upper hand, which is of course very naive thinking, since Mahito already gave a glimpse of what he was capable of in the first season. Unfortunately, it was foreseeable that Mechamaru would be killed. I mean, let's be realistic. Even in a utopian world where Mechamaru kills Mahito, he then faces Geto. So whatever happens in the Shibuya Incident couldn't have been stopped at this point anyway. However, we were introduced to a very interesting technique in the form of the Simple Domain. This means that in addition to simply overwhelming another domain with your own, this also offers an opportunity to do so. It was definitely a smart move on Mahito's part to dissolve his domain and let Mechamaru believe he was dead, which only further confirms why Mahito is so dangerous. We may not have had the greatest connection with Mechamaru, but it's still sad that Miwa's wish to get closer to him will never come true. RIP. The last 7 minutes gave a first glimpse of what awaits us this season, although I have no idea why this 400 meter Raidus veil was lowered at this particular point, nor why all these people were literally sucked underground. Some new characters were also introduced, which we will almost certainly see in action soon. Yuuji, Todo, Utahime and Mei Mei were the only characters we didn't see anything about. However, with Gojo entering the inner part of the veil, the stage is now truly set for the Shibuya Incident Arc. With everything I've heard about it, I can't wait to see what happens in the next upcoming months. |

| lol, I dunno man, that artwork and animation looked pretty average this episode. Quick frames and high speed camera action masquerading it all. Hate lazy looking fights like that, where it becomes a little difficult to comprehend what's actually going on. |

| Decent episode overall, but to me that was by far the worst storyboarded and directed episode this season. And probably one of the most outrageous use of dimming in an anime produced by TOHO. |

Is it just me or was the fight with mahito vs Mechamaru very hard to follow? like the animation is fine ig but it wasn't as fluid or crisp as last season and the lighting just made my eyes hurt. Idk they tried to go over the top and it just didnt work in my opinion I hope other episodes are not like this 🤷🏾♂️

| Sooo I don't think we'll be seeing Mechamaru again. Honestly didn't care too, too much for him but seeing Miwa talking to Mechamaru while he was “sleeping” was kinda rough. From what I saw from the PV and from what Mahito did on that train in the OP, I don’t know how well this arc is gonna sit with me. Already not a big fan of random people dying in this show so I know I'm gonna be in for it next episode. Hoping that Maki gets a fair amount of screen time during this arc. She's in a group with Nobara, Nitta, and her father(?); so that gives me some hope. |

| Holy fuck the animation for Mechamaru v Mahito was insanely good and a crazy fight for a prologue. Transitions were pretty smooth, the camera work was great, and plot wise they managed to make the fight carry some weight to it with Mechamaru's feelings to Miwa and how if either side won it would feel like a big impact on the plot. But shit that ending with Miwa talking to a mechamaru droid had me heartbroken. Also i swear in the fight i noticed like several references to scenes from neon genesis evangelion. A few like Mech-Mechamaru running, sliding down the hill and opening it's mouth to roar had similar camera angles to scenes in NGE + rebuild movies of Eva 02. If it was an intentional reference, that's cool as fuck to still see NGE getting referenced in modern shows. |

| well mechamuru was fighting a losing battle from the start. i knew unless help arrived he had no chance. big f especially with the blue haired girl wanting to get closer to him just like he wanted to get closer to her too. ripppppp the fight was ok, too much of a mess, things flying, didn't really get what they were trying to do many times. didn't feel any impact or any "holy shit" or "damn" moments like we did with fighting scenes from say season 1. and gojou satoru has arrived. real shit begins now. |

| The episode was alright. The fight was pretty good, but I really just don't vibe with Mahito. Ends with Gojo showing up to steal the show and be ridiculously OP yet again. Idk, I feel like the story is degrading a bit into just a circle jerk over Gojo LOL |

| I thought it was fine. Obviously, on the animation, it was full of references to older mecha anime, which was great to see. Especially that sequence which was practically a frame-for-frame Gurren Lagann homage. However, I can't help but feel that it was lacking in quality somewhat. Now, I'm sure some people will just attribute that to the 'old school' animation style they were emulating, but I just think it felt really unpolished at times. The lighting and dimming were really off in the Mechamaru fight, to the point where it was difficult to tell what was happening at times. (ik that this is ostensibly done for safety/epilepsy prevention, but still...) The sequence with Mahito jumping through the trees and stuff while transforming into a bunch of different creatures was really cool, but it looked super janky up close. Maybe parts of that are stylistic, but when we compare it to fights we've seen before, it doesn't really match up imo. That said, looking forward to this next arc. I'm sure MAPPA will bring the heat on the big fights that are bound to be coming up, but we'll see! |

| The animation was the best part, but goddamn do I hate the power scaling/system in this show. The top tier characters feel so stupidly overpowered. Mechamaru was a side character so I didn't expect him to defeat the two main bad guys shown so far, but given the destruction he was delivering the past two episodes you would think he would have damaged one or both enough to get to Gojou before dying. It's just a weird ass thing to have this side character working with the enemies in exchange for regaining his body, but then fail to alert the others and die anyway even after coming up with the mech suit thing. It's like, what was the point of all that? |

The traitor student plotline could've easily been implemented into the Shibuya arc instead. Would've given the author more time to build up Mechamaru's character and make his death a lot more impactful. Same can be said about the simple domain. No reason for Mechamaru to be wasted so early on.

@vvvvjuuu Mechamaru could've easily escaped death before the fight began, but chose not to. Mahito's and Geto's intentions are irrelevant.

There was zero chance in hell mechamaru could've survived this, and you would know that too if you thought about it for more than 1 second. |

Mechamaru could've easily notified the school for help after he got what he wanted from Mahito in order to aid his escape. There were a ton of different ways this could've played out.
| @StaleNut No, Geto lowered a veil specifically so that he doesn't contact anyone outside and he had to kill Geto or get him to lift the veil before he could do anything. Bro just stop, it's clear you don't know what you're talking about. |
