The child abuse scene from erased. For a stoic person, I particularly get emotional whenever a child is involved..

Yosuga no Sora's last 3 episode was pretty high up...
But really the most painful thing ever is Rent-a-Girlfriend.
I can't believe I actually got into a mood where I wanted to be in pain for 4 hours straight and watched season 1.

I can't think of a better (worse) example than the final scene of Familiar of Zero s2. Sometimes I get the feeling the producers of that show hates it's audience.

Also, honorable mention. This unforgettable moment:

Too many to list, but I suppose despite all this time Classroom of the Elite sexual assault scene in episode 6 just angered me for all the wrong reasons. In a nutshell a young girl with symptoms of agoraphobia and self-esteem issues relating to how men leer at her is nearly sexually assaulted, only to be saved at the last minute by our heroic protagonist, who tracked her cellphone signal down for some reason. This makes the woman fall head over heels for someone who isn't so much as nice or kind to her but simply didn't view her in a sexual manner.

There's a ton wrong with this scene, but this scene wouldn't be so awful if her falling in love with someone who to her essentially just did not do anything to her is framed as positive, alongside dismissing any resulting trauma and lingering health issues of a girl who was already not mentally well in the first place. It is as if stopping a rape attempt meant that one wouldn't have any trauma from being pulled into an alleyway by a stranger and being nearly forced upon as long as the penis was not pulled out in the end.

Another scene is Aldnoah.Zero where we somehow blame a nearly murdered victim for her own murder attempt instead of the gunmen, one of whom is standing there blaming her for the shitty decision she made to try to kill someone in a violent fashion.

In terms of actually great scenes? That one scene from Made in Abyss where Reg is trying to amputate Riko's arm is so unflinchingly brutal. It isn't necessarily the goriest scene, but I felt deeply uncomfortable for the same reason we all flinch at fingernails being ripped off but not heads smashed to oblivion by anvils. It just hits to close to home for people in terms of injuries we might have had in our own lives. Seeing a character try to break an arm off with a sharp rock and trying to cut through arm bone is very stomach churning to me.

Also, obligatory Eclipse from Berserk.

There is also Himegoto, which in the penultimate episode, the student council tried to get a very feminine looking man (A "trap") raped while filming it. That...is just so disgusting, and the anime does acknowledge this, but personally? They do not deserve to be forgiving. Standing by and videotaping being raped is not forgivable. You have to be an extremely fucked up person.

This is an unacceptable answer, the question was what is the worst SCENE, now I demand you go back through all 148 episodes and rank every single scene, and then come back here and tell us which one was the worst.

Every second of Golden Boy was a struggle from an ethical standpoint. Watching it with other guys likely made it even more awkward, but my God did that show test my moral standings.

At least Golden Boy gave me a few chuckles (and I must confess that the artwork is good). Haruhi Suzumiya is even worse for me, what with her exploitative ways. It was so bad that I don't think I'll revisit the show to finish it.

Welp there are many scenes but from what I can remember, I skipped the majority of scenes from gintama involving otae being a massive bitch. I just can't stand the obsession of gintama's editors shoehorning her into important moments as well

There were also the pedophilic moments in mushoku tensei, i get the setting but i don't like it.
And there was that "sasuga rimuru-sama" every damn second in tensura

I remember the most uncomfortable I was while reading manga must be the uzumaki fetus mushroom scebe & stone ocean toe-nail ripping scene

ok ok, came back
the scene where a kid turns into the mature version of himself out of nowhere because the mangaka didn't know how to defeat the villain, that was impressive in its own way of how ridiculous and stupid it looked, imagine reading so many nen explanations for dozens of episodes and reading wiki about it only for it to be shattered in that scene. That was a huge middle finger towards the audience, no matter what it happens the protag will always win with some random power up outta thin air

When Wolfram kisses Yuuri in OVA 3 of Kyo Kara Maoh but since Yuuri claims to be straight he had to kidnap and tie him up first before forcibly doing it, but since Wolfram can't do anything wrong he had to be possessed by their god-like being who said he wanted to grant his wish. Every single scene that has Wolfram in it is terrible actually except the one where Shinou ripped the key out of his hear, bastard should have stayed dead.

Kill la Kill ep 12, when Mako interrupts the fight. I dropped the show on the spot.

SNK when armoured titan spills the beens, on his and the collosal titan's true identities. One of the two stupidest moments in the show that has reached legendary status.

The scene in Shield Hero where Naofumi defended slavery on the basis that it is legal in the kingdom.

Actually he defended himself when he was accused of owning a slave, based on it being legal, while the other heroes were openly supporting the current regime upholding slavery. It's a subtle but very important difference.

There's enough slavery in isekai, you don't need to change what actually happened in that scene to make a point.

Huh?? I remember a plant monster attack, but I'm pretty sure Kirito stopped it before anything could happen, SAO Alicization is way more graphic

Rent a Girlfriend was terrible but then when I watched it I was actually in the mood for something trashy, Yosuga no Sora I actually enjoyed and ignoring the real world implications of doing what they did I actually found myself crying with joy that two people who clearly passionately loved each other were finally able to realise that love and go off into the sunset and live happily incestafter.

NTR: Netsuzou Trap  - many of the characters in this apart from Takeda are horribly damaged,  especially Fujiwara who seems to view Hotaru as a punch bag/ sex toy, add in the fetishy girl on girl scenes and the weirdly out of place cutesy animation.

Usually scenes that are meant to make you feel second hand embarrassment on purpose. I tend to skip them to not cringe.

it was very difficult for me to watch the second cour of clannad AS. i was constantly feeling anxious about nagisa. was legit scared to keep watching. then the episode 20 last scene happened and had to take a 3-4 days break to feel normal again as it completely broke me. so much so that it was very hard for me to come to terms with the ending. just couldn't believe it.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
