| God, I was about to rip my hair out in anticipation for the reveal of who was under that mask. It was absolutely hilarious!! Who woulda thought the dude on Sanji's wanted poster was an actual person?! I kinda feel sorry for the guy lmao poor Duval XD |

| So this episode was mostly one to show how far the crew has come up until that gag at the end but it was fun and it had some wonderful moments. My favorite was actually when Hachi apologized to Zoro for hurting him with his 6 sword style and Zoro took offense like "YOU DIDN'T EVEN HIT ME", Hachi is already growing on me. Misremembering that badly, he definitely has a good image of himself. His dumb optimism works very well with Camie and Papugg. It was also nice to see Brook's plight from the filler come up again. He's so grateful to the Straw Hats and all he wants to do pay them back for the kind things they did for him and pull his own weight. So it was nice to see him try really hard the way he did and show off his water running and super jumps. It seems he has the ability to manipulate weaker willed enemies with music! It can make a crying child laugh but it can also make kidnapping flying fish biker bandits fall asleep. The Franky, "are they talking to me?" gag got me really good. Franky has heard so many times in his life that he was a pervert for his attire, just hearing it must make him think people are referring to him. The different reactions to Duval were probably the best part. Especially Franky's sympathy for him crying his eyes out and Luffy's outright fear!!! I thought it would be a "who are you again?" moment but instead it was so much better. As soon as Luffy got all shocked and recognized him I knew we were in for something. Lastly, it's easy to forget about sustained damage in shounen. However, the concept is pretty directly linked with Zoro. I had already stopped thinking about the ramifications of his loss to Kuma. He shouldn't have even been able to live through that pain on top of his own. He had never been that hurt before as Chopper said. And, full of regret and motivation he pushed forward, took off his bandages early, and trained hard. He's destroying his body by not letting it heal because, that's the kind of person he is. This goes all the way back to his Mihawk scar that stayed relevant and affected his fighting prowess all the way to his fight with Arlong. I recall his wounds being relevant in Skypiea too where he made a jump in the fight with the gunner and could hardly stomach the pain as he landed. Zoro is a character who's somewhat defined by sustained and affecting damage and I think it was very smart for Oda to remind us of that. Luffy for instance may get these "healing" periods in the show but from what I remember his injuries from gear power ups don't come back in the same way as Zoro's wounds, at least so far they haven't outside of the moments after reverting back to normal. And the other characters don't often get their injuries done like this at all. Overall it was a cool way to see how far everyone has come. Even Nami was fighting on the forefront! And that Duval joke was wonderful. Oda is a funny dude. |
| There were a lot of funny and really cool moments throughout this episode thanks to every single member of the Straw Hats being able to kick ass together with some Takoyaki on the side~ It's a nice detail that Zoro's still healing from his previous injuries but I hope that it won't lead to anything too drastic later on. I was really wracking my brain thinking of someone who might've had a grudge on Sanji and fits Duval's appearance but it turned out that his appearance was something that I never would've suspected. My cheekbones hurt from all the smiling and laughing I did lmaooo |

| I'm glad to see that Brook has some skills other than his swordplay. They already have a master swordsman on their crew! I think Brook is starting to become one of my favorite characters now. It is also worth noting that the crew has been able to work more as a team than as individuals ever since Thriller Bark. The chemistry between them has improved drastically. They are able to work together and synchronize their attacks without saying a word to each other. Oh my god, I'm dying at Motobaro's face! I now understand what Luffy meant by "You've seen his face a lot." |
