SPECIAL EVENT: SUMMER ANIME COLLAB ROULETTE  Hello everyone! Can you smell the salty sea air already? It's starting to feel like ๐ SUMMER ๐ has arrived! And that means its time for another seasonal roulette! Just as a reminder, this is a seasonal event that will happen every 3 months! HOW DOES IT WORK? ใ— Everyone submits two anime to the pool. ใ— Then we take turns picking which anime we watch. ใ— Whenever an anime gets picked, it gets removed from the pool. RULES
ANIME YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO NOMINATE OTHER INFO ใ— You will earn 2 points for completing this roulette. ใ— You cannot skip or re-roll. One week after the final picks have been made, if you don't want to watch/complete the anime you picked, you can make a new post in this thread requesting a new anime that's still available in the pool. Tag me in your new post if you wish to do this - your change will be not be confirmed until I see it. New picks will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. ใ— You can choose to read/play/etc. the source material for your anime if you prefer. If you're participating in the collaboration with the Anime Watching Challenges Club, you'll need to watch the anime. ใ— Completing this roulette will count towards your skip/re-roll cooldowns. ใ— Do you like manga? I think it would be fun to match them (for example, a Summer Roulette only using Summer anime). — I would advise against genres, since another club is doing those currently. — I'm not fond of the idea of doing a roulette based on types, since it's rather nice to have the chance to pick a movie or something shorter if we will have a busy month and still want to participate. — There's not much else I can suggest sadly. There's always doing roulettes by a specific letter (has been done already)... or maybe a theme, but then those kinda fall as genres... what about also considering characters? Like a roulette of adults in anime, of teens, of a colorful haired cast (lol) but those will end being a hassle to check. Oh, there could be roulettes of series from big Studios/Companies... or heck, maybe even a Scum Roulette! mwahahahaha.... okay, fine, sorry xD ADDED TO POOL. |

Yes (Optional, see main post): Feedback on 'THE FUTURE OF SEASONAL ANIME ROULETTE': Seasonal restrictions are feasible and would add more variety, everyone would have things to submit still, and its obviously relevant to a "seasonal roulette" event. Types, especially ONA/OVAs, would be rough. With OVAs/ONAs, many people just don't watch enough of them either. May also be rough towards those without a lot of free time for a TV-restriction. Decades, especially pre-2000s decades, would be tough. A lot of people either don't like or don't watch enough pre-2000s. There's also the fact that there weren't as many 1-cours made pre-2000. So it could again lead to the pool being not too friendly to those without a lot of time (a lot of 2-cours likely in the pool). I wouldn't be opposed to Shey's suggestion about maybe some character-related restrictions that wouldn't be too hard for the host to enforce / the participants to find. In any case, I think seasonal restrictions are the safe bet, and over the next year other restrictions can be thought of. We could also occasionally spice things up by replacing the simple format (submit 2 pick 1) with a slightly different format, like the Halloween Roulette (but it would serve as the seasonal roulette, rather than running 2 at once). A lot of roulette option so far have been TV so maybe it would be fun to do an ONA/OVA/Movie roulette sometime. Airing could be great no matter the year (well except if it's too much in the past) to help fill out AWCc's aired in year challenges. ADDED TO POOL. |

Yes Feedback on 'THE FUTURE OF SEASONAL ANIME ROULETTE': I don't think doing a specific restriction based on genre/season would be necessary, but it might be a good idea to disallow anime that were nominated in the most recent batch. As in, none of the anime nominated in the Summer roulette would be eligible for nomination in the Fall roulette, and so on. It would bring a bit more diversity to the pool of options from one roulette to the next. (@DimitrovN I neglected to add this feedback when I originally posted, so I'm tagging you now in case you don't look at these a second time; sorry for the ping!) ADDED TO POOL. |

I think it would be sad, particularly for those who have seen a lot of anime already or that have particular tastes.
