Next time, just don't bother.
I'd rather have the black plague come back before you do.
"Not here to discuss politics, just showing how happy I am that religious bullshit gets passed"
Anyways...
This is really bad news, for everyone.
Forcing women to have unwanted kids is NOT a good idea.
Today we estimate that one of the biggest factors in violent crime reduction in the 80s in the US was due to this legislation, you can expect a rise in the next 20 years...
As a guy who's had to stress about a pregnancy result when it was NOT the right time for us to have a baby, I can just begin to imagine the hardship of this situation for many women.
So, for those of US girls who may be someday in that kind of shit (yes, even you religious pro life nut, we'll see how you feel about this when you got that thing in your belly and 0 ressource to raise it), here's what will be still possible in the short term :
- Know the states where abortions were legal prior to Roe. Here, no surprise, the coast is where it's at.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_the_United_States_by_state
Alaska may be the best option if you can go that far, if not other northern states (Washington, Oregon, New York) may do. I mean, not teaching anything new here, just avoid fucking Texas.
Canada stays also a safe option, abortion is legal there in all states :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_Canada#:~:text=Abortion%20in%20Canada%20is%20legal,and%20provincial%20health%2Dcare%20systems.
It may cost you more than for a canadian citizen, who are covered for it by public healthcare.
You can have it in France for free even if you're a foreigner (and many of us would be glad to help you there), but long distance flight is not often possible, and it's still limited to 14 weeks of pregnancy here.
- Learn about pro choice organizations like Planned Parenthood (and maybe join them), they are the one fighting for your rights and may help you in this issue in some way or another.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_Parenthood
- Protest, demonstrate, join organizations, and fight back. If you show determination, numbers and unity, you will show strength, and people in power will have to take your voice into account. Those are also a great way to socialize, and exchange advice and help between each other. I'd advocate for mine and try getting you into an Union (god knows we need more women here too), but I think this may be more efficient :

All in all, stay strong, this may be a shitty time for now, but remember those are just your typical religious idiots' last breath, they'll eventually go away if we keep fighting.
Don't despair, the lines are actually moving the other way in other parts of the world, like in South America :

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-60477700
...but that's only because people fought for it ;)
Good luck girls.
Edit :
@Narmy
Indeed, this was one of the main arguments to legalize it in France too. |
