SO sorry for such a late reply! I was busy at the time and then I completely forgot about it. I rarely get any comments on my profile after all.
Personally, I always like to talk about The Sky Crawlers and Texhnolyze together. If Texhnolyze exposed how any abstract purpose in life is fundamentally meaningless, The Sky Crawlers ponders on how to live in harmony with such an existence. After all, if all our actions ultimately amount to nothing, if all our mental constructs are destined to fail because all humans have conflicting values and interests, what's even the point of doing anything at all? To that, there's no definite answer, but The Sky Crawlers argues that even if we can't change the ultimate result, we can still try to make small improvements in our lives. We can find reassurance in the small things that change as we go through life (new friends, new places, new experiences), and hope that someday we find ourselves in a better place.
