The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat, Episode 1
My Thoughts:
We got shown both worlds: ours and the one where the hero is going to go.
The hero is cold-blooded and really good at his job as an assassin.
Event Summary:
A young woman is crying while a maid is applying makeup to her. The young woman tells the maid that she doesn't want to look pretty.
There is a fancy party taking place. On stage, a girl wearing golden handcuffs is presented as "Item number 6, from Swoigel, 13 years old, 155 centimeters tall, weighs 41 kilos, blonde hair, gray eyes, in excellent health, no external injuries." The guys at the party are bidding for the girl.
In the VIP balcony, a rich-looking woman remarks that they have burned the girls' villages to the ground.
The featured girl is described as "Item number 7, from Alvan, 14 years old, 145 centimeters tall, weighs 38 kilos, silver hair, blue eyes, in excellent health, no external injuries, no dental cavities." She magically obtains a key that she uses to free herself from the golden handcuffs and proceeds to kill the guys at the auction with a rifle that she also gets magically. The guys working at the auction were under the orders of Marquess Collide.
The maid applying the makeup is an ally of the girl killing the bidders.
Marquess Collide is the woman in the VIP balcony. She escapes.
Magic requires time for the chants to be voiced.
Lugh and Maha are outside the castle where the auction was taking place. They say that this was an investigation. This investigation confirmed their suspicion that Marquess Collide was behind it.
Maha says she followed the money and discovered huge profits of unknown origin. They attack villages while disguised as bandits and kidnap young girls to sell them off to other nobles.
Dia and Tarte are the undercover agents.
Lugh shoots at Marquess Collide, but it is not shown if he kills her.
A guy with a powerful rifle is killing people at a distance, aided by a woman who is his spotter. They kill six named individuals but leave the rest alone. The woman protests leaving the rest of the mafia members alive, and the guy explains that they only kill who the organization tells them and no more. Maybe the organization only wants to kill the leaders but leave the structure intact, or maybe there are undercover members of the organization. This location doesn't seem to be near the castle where the auctions were taking place.
The guy with the rifle sees a drone, gets in the van, and tells the spotter that now they are running. The border guards start to pursue them. They rig the van to continue driving and set up a gun to start shooting at the border guards. They jump from the vehicle, and the fuel spilled inside the van ignites, leaving the border guards with the impression that they eliminated their targets. Something about the drone spotting them doesn’t add up to the sharpshooter. He is much more knowledgeable than the spotter.
The sharpshooter was born into the organization and raised by it to be an assassin. The spotter asks the sharpshooter if he harbors resentment towards the organization and if he is proud of being their best tool. She asks if he has emotions, and he tells her that assassins don't need emotions—that emotions only cloud judgment. The sharpshooter is too old and is retiring to start a new job with the organization in Japan. He will become a trainer of new assassins. This mission was also a test of his skills as a teacher, which is why he teamed up with such a novice.
The spotter and the sharpshooter get fake American passports. The new identity of the spotter is Mila Martinez; the sharpshooter’s new identity is Allen Smith.
Allen Smith’s passport is shown: Type P, date of birth 12 March 1955, registered domicile California, USA, date of issue 23 November 2015, date of expiry 23 November.
The depiction of the planes is very realistic.
There is an explosion on the plane Mila and Allen are on. The news says that the plane was hijacked. Allen suspects that putting him with Mila was all part of a plan to assassinate him. The plane hijacking was just a cover for the organization to kill him. There were no kidnappers on the plane, but a mine was hidden behind the control panel. The plane was shot down by an F-16 under the excuse that the fictional hijackers threatened to hit critical infrastructure.
Allen is confused by the betrayal of the organization. He can’t figure out why they did it.
Allen finds himself in a crystal place. He asks aloud if he is dreaming. A female voice tells him he is not dreaming. The Goddess summoned Allen after his death. She offers him two options: being reborn with his memories wiped or accepting her request and being reborn in another world with his memories intact. Allen asks who the Goddess wants to kill, since that must be the reason for involving him. She tells him he will be reborn into a world of swords and sorcery. She wants him to kill the Hero.
