Yeah this doesn't make any sense.

Courtesans sleep with men, that's the whole point. The most famous ones just get to sleep with less people.

"Yuugiri was a virgin all along, honest" is a really cowardly move for the show. It's just to make her more traditional idol like.

I mean, i wasn't really expecting a realistic backstory because it would be too depressing for the tone of the show, but come on.

This ep was so interesting and had a totally different vibe from usual. It was a big surprise to find that Kotarou's ancestor was in love with Yugiri and it was really fun looking out for the Franchouchou girls (or their ancestors at least!). Itou is sus af and I'm pretty sure he's going to be the cause of Yugiri's death.

it can't be a movie, lily is way to short, and for 1 second that Tae appeared she was normal, so, its really her backstory.

Could someone translate the letter that was shown in the end?

im too interested in that one, as it seems an important letter

Supporter of the target is increasing
Cannot confirm the whereabout of the target
High chance of expansion (of the movement)
**** the target on sight

From the context, the target is assumed to be the head of Saga revival movement (Xu Fu, the necromancy geezer; his name is in the credit below Itou), and the order is probably to terminate him.

What do you think a courtesan is? Lol

I do know what a courtesan is and what services they provide. But in this story Yugiri is an irregular.

And how do you think she rose to fame? By just playing some koto or shamisen? LOL. She would be called a geisha then, not an oiran. Jesus some people...

Interesting shift to have a 2-parter focusing on Yugiri’s backstory. I think it might be taking itself a little too seriously with Kotaro’s ancestor’s friend being a spy and all. The cameos for the other girls was also kinda odd because it takes away from Yugiri’s spotlight some, but it wasn’t that big of a deal.

This episode quite intense, but some literally franchouchou cameo breaks the cold, very nice to see people arguing about bartender from first episode

Definitely not. Every oiran started somewhere, she is no exception. She slept with some men, played instrument really well, became really hot, everybody vied for her until she became too expensive to be bought. Just imagine the most expensive escort. Do you think they are virgin? Cmon man be realistic and think for a second lol

Well Yuugiris backstory is the one that I've been waiting for since season 1, just a shame that they had to shoehorn in all of the other characters into it, that really cheapened it for me.

They finally tell his story and it's interesting. And the ending...hmmm, let's see what happens. Very good chapter and yes Yuugiri looks very cute.

I think it's pretty obvious that all the girls in the episode are just making cameos (because the show is about them so they have to be in the episode in a way), they are not supposed to be ancestors or anything.

Yuugiri's backstory, FINALLY! And as appropriately dressed and timed in the Meiji Era .
Finally , so she a Courtesan and she in love with a certain rightwing guy Kiichi who wants to bring back Saga.....I'm guessing that it would be Kiichi's friend who would bring about Yuugiri's demise.

At last the Yugiri backstory. And such an interesting one at that. Seeing all the Meiji selves of Franchouchou was as
amusing as unexpected. Looking forward to see where this will go from here.

At last we finally got Yuugiri's backstory! Feels like we are getting some plot progression as Kiichi, who obviously is Kotaro's ancestor, not heavily supports the revival of Saga but also revealed his grandpa speaking some 'nonsense' on his old powers of raising the dead.

This ep feels like different anime.

Yuugiri nee-chan, what a gentle beauty. 😭

Oh no, there seems to be an assassination attempt behind the scene, I don't like where this is going.

There's a glimpse of Tae, who seems to be an oujou-sama.

It finally happened, ladies and gentlemen. Yuugiri got her focal episode and, considering the time she lived in, this episode explores the history of Saga. During her life in Saga, Yuugiri meets a young man named Kiichi, who is determined to restore the past glory of the Saga prefecture, despite some resistance from the locals. I never expected Zombieland Saga to travel so far back into the past, but I'm interested to see how this goes.

We also meet characters that just so happen to resemble our favorite zombie idols. Ancestors? Previous incarnations? A big coincidence? Your guess is as good as mine.

Anyway, this was a fine episode and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Now that we're finally getting Yugiri's story, I'm actually really glad they waited until the second season. It definitely wouldn't have been the same if they rushed through some of the details of her life, in one episode last season. So I'm really glad that they waited until there was time to breathe, and give us a backstory on Yugiri that looks and sounds beautiful. Great stuff.

Usually i'm not that interested in period pieces but the best girl finally receives her day in the spotlight and automatically this plot (already honestly fitting well with the events of present day) becomes a must watch.
