He reminds me to the three heroes of Tate no Yuusha, like a mix of Ren and Itsuki. He pretty much acts as if he was the main character of an isekai LN, making every bad decision posible to him and never bothers considering his surroundings (like he never bother trying to deal with Hugo until it was too late). Last episode Basgath (the labyrinth guide) said that the ocean is Water Dragons' territory and that they'll sink any ship and shot down anyting flying inside their territory.

The nightmare's vestiges part was interesting, it made me stop my 16x speed of the AD for another anime/filler part of this episode.

I wonder if Shitstain's party is more enjoyable in the LN, since I've heard that that is the best way to experience this story.
Just to be clear, I hate Shitstain and his entire party (including his brother) and all parts where they are (academy included), but I don't hate the humans. The post-attack scene on the castle, the greatest human sorcerer's episode.. they were great and actually did the whole world building for me while being not only tolerable, but enjoyable.
I will miss the now renowned world building, that everyone who tolerates or enjoys Shitstain's party always mentions... And I am ok with that, because if I forced myself to watch it anymore that I have in the first 6 eps, I'd have dropped the anime/story entirely. The story is unique and great, from what I've heard, the human side is just not handled well (LN supposedly being better) and that's just too bad I guess.

I'll finish the anime and then try LN and/or WN. Hopefully that will save the story for me, that the McProtagonist and his party ruins every anime episode.

Want to know how much the anime has been skipping about the worldbuilding?
This is literally taken from the first page of Shun Chapter 2 (Chapter 1 doesn't count 'cuz that happens before the reincarnation)

See, there’s a skill called Appraisal.
With Appraisal, you can see statuses, but few people possess that skill.
In order to acquire it, just like becoming a judge or an appraiser on Earth, you need a thorough education on how to judge the values of things, powers of observation to figure out the composition of substances, and other such high-level skills. No amateur would be able to manage that.
And even if you could get the Appraisal skill, it’s extremely difficult to raise its level, so very few people have it in the first place.
Really, all it actually takes to acquire Appraisal is paying the right amount of skill points.
But even though that’s technically possible, you can’t get any further once you have it.
Raising the skill level of Appraisal only requires using it.
Every time you use Appraisal, your proficiency rises, and if you reach a certain level of proficiency, the level goes up as well.
However, it’s using the skill that’s the real problem.
On the one hand, it doesn’t require any magical power or energy.
I know what you’re thinking: “Couldn’t you just use it whenever you want, then?” It’s not that simple.
The catch is this: Whenever Appraisal is used, the user gets hit with a headache and a drunken feeling.
The degree seems to vary depending on the individual, but in the worst cases, some people will faint after using it only once, and even more talented users can’t Appraise more than two things at once.
Since each use is so rough, using the skill over and over to increase your proficiency would be incredibly punishing.

Also, some decisions make more sense in the LN.
Here in the anime it feels weird how Shun decided to use the route that goes right throught the Nightmare territory just because Anna wanted this route.

I read the LN and im fully aware of this. I never said i didnt like the human side (i actually found it quite interesting), i said Shun isnt a likable character.

Shun is the far from a generic isekai protagonist.
He may have the archetype's shell but he lacks everything else that makes up the characters themselves-like a soulless puppet.

Generic isekai protagonists all have personality and desires. They act in ways to meet those desires.

Hajime (Arifureta) and his classmates get stuck in another world. They want to go home and when that option is off the table, they take action to survive in the world. Even when they fail to have combat power or courage, they look into other paths like agriculture (teacher).
After Hajime meets his mishap, he changes his actions based on his personality and desires.
Ichirou (Death March) gets sent to another world. He works hard to live there and build an understanding of his situation.
Arisa was also reincarnated and tried her best to improve her family's situation. She even tried using knowledge to better her country.
Saito (Familiar of Zero) gets stuck as a slave and tries his best to run away-even almost succeeding. When things turn south, he reluctantly acts like a slave and still tries to find a way back.
Youji (Gate) and his group explore the other world for their country-but you can damn be sure he'll try to sneak home for manga conventions any chance he can! When his platoon has the chance to sacrifice refugees or avoid helping the princess, they follow through with their own sense of justice despite the risks.
Haruhiro (Grimgar) and the others get reincarnated into a strange place where they have to risk their lives daily. Their personality and desires dictate their choices and actions-even to the point where Ranta and Haruhiro are like 2 walls that face each other, firm in their opposing stances.
Touya (IAW Smartphone) gets killed by Gods slip up and takes it quite well because of his personality. After reincarnating with unrivaled powers, he works to LIVE in the world.
Ernesti (Knights & Magic) reincarnates into a world of robots and goes all out to fight in one. The bastard couldn't even wait-changing the common sense of the world just so he could pilot a knight as soon as possible.
Kazuma (Konosuba) gets reincarnated with an impossible mission. He avoids trying to complete it but doesn't shy away from battle-even after dying multiple times and getting driven into corners by the demon lord's generals. Even when he's lazy, his perversion knows no bounds-visiting inns just to gets succubus dreams.
and countless examples more- (I had 50 series typed out on a notepad and over 40 I could add to it from a quick glance at my WN list and a googled anime top10 lists.)

Edit:
Any one of the countless characters could act like Shun.
There's even a WN where a parasite-like person gets a parasite skill and a free-gold skill. After parasiting others for a while, he eventually starts fighting with his own body.
There's even a WN where a guy who lives to sleep gets reincarnated as a dungeon monster-cum dungeon master. He could sleep forever but he still puts in effort to secure his own dungeon so he can sleep longer, easier, and more comfortably.

Edit2: Fixed Kazuma's name. I wasn't looking at spelling since I was expecting to type out 50 characters before I stopped myself and didn't reread it. -I blame the dub since I remember hearing it like "I am KAZAMA SATOU-", RIP Dubs.

2 interesting dreams Shun. So it suggesting Spooky maybe Kumoko? Wakaba was first implied as her for long, but sounded nothing like Kumoko.
Decent dragon fight for the studio.
Mc body's insane, at least try talking first? but it just goes chomp on anything including a demonlord lol.

I would need to re-read this part but in the novel (and manga) Kumoko has made the "the corpse ended so brutaly mangled that it wouldn't be posible to show it on TV without a censoring box" joke many times.
My guess is that the studio is adapting that joke.

Everyone is so hard on Shun, but he is just a regular guy thrown into hero role. Very few of us would really be great at that, he simply is not fit for that but tries anyway, since that is what's forced on him. Remember, D is not the benevolent god that helps everyone, rather she is mischievous and likes to put persons on bad spots. Someone reincarnating as dragon? Someone as opposite sex? Someone as... spider (well.... that... should... you'll see)? I don't blame Shun for failing to fill the shoes of hero, that really was not his life or choice.

that old guy who was their guide, he sure did age a lot in 15 years. went from looking like a teenager to looking like a 50-something year old. yikes

did the body mind get inside the demon lord's head? is it going to eat her mind now? lol wut just happened. i guess we'll find out. the different timelines keep tangling up my theories

i think Spooky is either Aria or D that's why Shun sees her in hes dreams, cause deep inside hes sense tells him that in a cryptic way or maybe spooky is trying to tell him something in a cryptic way

It's Amazing, also i think it's very underappreciated i mean i suppose people don't think that i would be great cause of the whole spider thing BUT YOUR WRONG its one of my favourite anime out there and I'm really begging for a season 2 which i don't often feel that way when there hasn't been any response on one but for this one im literally going to lose it if they say there's no season 2.
