As always, everything is too convenient, contrived and freely handed to the characters.
We know nothing about the human world except that apparently everything is fine there, despite the fact they were engaged in a deal of sacrificing children, and despite it being warned earlier that the human world wouldn't just easily accept eveyone.

  • Mama is cheerfully forgiven for sending dozens of children to their deaths and. breaking Emma's leg.
  • Norman's gang have completely gotten over their hatred of demons because Emma is that charismatic.
  • he bad guy is given a pathetic little backstory before up and killing himself for plot convenience's sake.
  • The two demon-hunters have apparently forgotten their initial plan of hunting the kids for sport after waiting a few years.
  • Norman's illness has conveniently gone away.

We get a crappy slideshow after which Emma returns and hugs the one kid, which is supposed to be heartwarming but instead is undeserved and unsatisfying. I am long past caring about Emma and the little kid she is hugging (forget his name) is an annoying squirt.
What a piece of shit this show was from start to finish.

The production committee[and apparently the author] didn't give the show its chance, so why should I.

The Promised Neverland Season 2 took my kids........4/10.

Since episode 6, it just kept getting worse and inconsistent in terms of plot and logic. Did the writer start doing hard drugs from that point on? because s1 and the start of s2 were pretty good.
edit: apparently it's the anime team that changed stuff

So we got music playing and a few panning images to cover the whole war to save the world? Can't say I was very satisfied with that. That 30 seconds they were separated and reunited made me feel nothing.

Overall I was fairly into it until Norman came back and all of the empty dialogue started. I don't know how this compares to the manga, but this was a steep downhill ride from season 1. Reminded me of the Karakuri Circus adaptation.

I think it was pretty good and closed everything nicely, sure it does felt rushed but the principal goal of the anime is to promote the manga firstly, I'd say to everyone who wants more, just go ahead and read the manga if you want the full story, it of course will be much better
But I would say the anime did pretty good in the role of advertising the manga and itself wasn't that bad
It pains me to see such bad notes here tbh..

Yakusoku no Neverland has one of the biggest (if not the biggest) score differences between the 1st and the 2nd season, and if you came here, you know why.

It's a shame watching a show you like being slowly turned into garbage. I mean what were they thinking by compressing 15 volumes into 11 episodes? Did the japanese audiences like it?

what the hell were those maid bitches planning? she told emma that she had her own plan and that it happened to align with part of emma's. so what was their plan?! they weren't attempting to free the children or go to the human world...

wtf was that gate? is it the other side of the planet? another dimension? humans don't know about it? don't care that children are being eaten? the demon gate is in a facility, the human gate is...in the woods. nobody's guarding the human gate? they're not worried demons might sneak in and massacre them? wtf such nonsensical trash

some humans stick around to free all the children. ok. sounds cool. sounds like season 3...er...sounds like 3 minutes of ZERO dialogue, ZERO action, ZERO narration. how did they free the other kids? did they free the other kids? do all demons have the crazy blood now or not? wtf happened?

sonjo wanted to eat humans. he literally said so. wtf happened to thath? why did they not address that?

they still didn't explain how minerva made the shelter (and presumably multiple shelters). wtf was that?

all those humans in police/military tactical gear at the start of season 2. did they go to the human world, too? what happened to them?

just a bad, whack final 2 episodes. there were a lot of things that didn't make sense (or that i didn't like) in the first 9 episodes, but at least they were somewhat entertaining. there was nothing entertaining these last 2 episodes. just me looking at the screen like "huh?" for minutes on end

5/10

ps - you know emma's gonna keep going through the gate to see her demon friends. i mean, unless she's prohibited from doing so because of whatever new deal was agreed to? this was so dumb...

Anddd as I expected, a cluster fuck of a finale. Pacing was wonky and all over the place. Things that should have emotional significance dont because they happened too damn fast for you to even dare, art and animation were meh at best.. you can tell CW put all their eggs(pun intended) in one basket this season. I’m just glad this all over now.

It’s really a shame because season 2 had no reason not to be a 8.7 or higher. Goldy Pond is one of the best shonen arcs I’ve read. If you’re going to rework/rewrite the series, it should’ve been what came AFTER that, not before. S2 should’ve been exclusively GP like how S2 of Dr. Stone was stone wars. They could’ve easily milked another 12 ep season after that too. The pacing would’ve been better, the tension and mystery would’ve been better, etc.

Shame really, but it’s been fun watching with all of y’all week in and week out and laughing at this wreck that we once loved.
I haven't read the manga so I don't really know how much worse this is than it's supposed to be, but even I feel like the ending was rushed. I didn't really feel emotional because of how quickly everything went back to normal. Like, Emma says she'll stay back, have an emotional scene, and LITERALLY 10 SECONDS LATER, SHE REUNITES W/ THEM?! what did she even do in the ending?! climb a mountain, say bye to mujisha and go back?! this would've felt WAYY emotional if they actually built up the scenes properly. This is literally nothing compared to S1, I felt like I was watching a different anime where they have no idea how to direct an anime. I'm really not trying to be rude to the director, but come one. What a wasted opportunity.

I am really angry why would they exclude the major plot point in the ending.

Definitely not as good as the first season with a lot not making much sense (e.g. lambda escapees feeling regret killing demons), but still somewhat decent. Its disappointing to know major stuff has been cut and rushed but as an anime-only viewer it could definitely be much worse when looking at what happened to the butchered Tokyo ghoul adaptation. The only really shitty part was that manga-content-montage at the end which really ruined any chances for a third season, making me question why they even did a second season if they were going to speedrun the end.

Disappointing. I never liked the franchise in the first place buh wow they ruined it very bad in this second season. Probably what annoyed me the most was Emma's "ideology" and how she was making everyone stupid in the process lol. 2/10 for the anime cuz the involuntary comedy.

This was bad, really, really bad. But come on guys, don't act like if the anime were faithful to the manga it would be better, manga after S1 went downhill and a very few arcs later was horrible and annoying, you all wanted to k!ll Emma so she can just shut up for once and stop crying and saying she want to save everyone, it was soooooooooooooooooooo freaking annoying.

This was bad. The beginning was good IMO, it was rushed, yes, but I would've never guessed it was going to become this. From the moment Norman appeared (which should've been the moment real shit started to happen), the second season started to go downhill real fast. And the ending, oh my lord, even as an anime-only, I was very dissappointed at how much things were left unexplained. This was bad, but IMO it wasn't as bad as Tokyo Ghoul S2, so I give it props for that. Very underwhelming season compared to the amazing first season.

While I'm like many others in the forum, am disappointed in how they wrapped up with pictures only -- I don't entirely hate it. I'd have loved to get that goldi pond arc, but I think they wrapped this better then the original ending. It seems more true to Emma's personality
. Phil getting older hurts my heart. But he's a good boy. To the end. I think, now in the last scenes he's about as old as Emma was when they started this journey? (9 to 13ish looking at his design? idk)

I kind of wish Ratri would have put up a better fight, or maybe tried to kamikaze his ass out, but I get that we're short on time.

I am disappointed though because up until where the goldi arc would have been would have been a solid 9/10, now it's closer to 6.5/10. I enjoyed it enough, but had complaints as it seemed a bit more unsteady near the end.

As one who didn't read the novels (some reviews compared this series to the novels with disappointed opinions), I thought this series turned out rather brilliant.
The whole concept of demons and food supplies, and the ingenuity of the older children to figure this all out and not only work out an escape plan, but work out how to solve the problem once and for all, seems brilliant.
It had a good ending, as far as I'm concerned.
Blasting Myuk's song so the whole neighborhood could hear it, was like a victory lap.
I'd be giving this series more like a 9 than a 2.

Okay so let me start by saying that this season was indeed really bad. It is however not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. I've seen it described as pretty much the worst thing to be shown on a screen. It is obvious that there was a lot of content cut and even with the stuff that was shown they easily could've fit it in a 24+ series.

Normans' story got rushed, time skips didn't make sense and were only confusing and dissapointing, and the plot was too reliant on convenience (they grace field infiltration could have been pretty good if the ''twist(s)'' had been set up properly. This easily should've taken 6+ episodes at the minimum).

Most characters were actually undeveloping as the series went on. Very black and white ideals which lead to straight up annoying decision making at some points, of course the characters also didn't stay consistend in their views (like everyone suddenly is chill with literal demons, the sick fuck that expiremented on everyone doesn't get attacked by anyone, and everyone forgives Isabella; a woman who has literally sold your family off to be eaten by demons?!)

Animation-wise it was way worse then season 1 and the amazing points of view from season 1 didn't make a return the cinematography was passable at best. The music did slap tho.

All in all the show was very dissapointing especially after the amazing first season. This is probably also the reason why so many people rate it a 1 or 2. It had a lot of potential and blew it. Still it was enjoyable enough and had some very nice moments in between the dissapointmnts. It is a 6/10 for me. Did bad as a sequel but decent as a stand alone (not considering the greatness of S1)

Pretty much everything said here. Would have been probably better as an 24 episode series. But by far not the worst thing I've ever seen on a screen. 6,3/10 for me

Because The Promised Neverland Season 2 is skipped almostly important manga chapters and ruined it which was really horrible, production quality was mediocre, overall story a huuuge downgrade from the previous season which was so good... I think it will become completely failure and dogshit comparing to the great and awesome Season 1. It was 2/10 for me.

Check my TPN2 anime review, you could understand that why it's a huge disappointment, disgrace and uninspired anime sequel I've seen.

If this last episode had a lead up to another season then I can give it a scored as high as 7. Can you believe that!!!? Buuuuuuuut it instead had the most pathetic excuse for an ending. They skipped tons of chapters and a lot of amazing arcs for no good reason, just because it’s what the author wanted. I thought besides the fact that they skipped a lot of content that it was still pretty ok, but it’s still far from being good. Shit I liked Tokyo Ghoul Root A way more than this. 5/10

As an anime only watcher I can say that this season is NOT that bad as the score it has. Is it worst than 1st season? Yes. Was it completely rushed, skipped things and the ending was a picture slideshow? Yes. But is still a pretty decent anime, I can understand the hate from manga readers but for anime only is not that bad, could be a lot better of course, but at least we had a “good" ending.

I'm going to read the manga (although EVERYONE hates the ending too) and edit this comment when I finish it to say if it's actually that bad in comparison or if it is still “good" as an anime only show.

EDIT: OK, now I understand all of the hate from manga readers. It is a shame that this season skipped completely +100 chapters it is ridiculous that important characters does not even exist because of that on the anime. But as I say before as an anime ONLY this season was kind of "Good", but as adaptation is truly awful at the level of Tsukihime (The Tsukihime anime does NOT exist is a meme for a reason...). Even with all that I have to admite that I liked WAY more the anime ending compared to the manga, the manga ending for me was really bad, while in the anime the ending was not great it was still good.

Unlike many people, I enjoyed this season a lot. I still think the first season is a masterpiece and this one a slight downgrade overall.

It felt rushed towards the end (I guess I was expecting a showdown between the kids and the higher ups while I was watching the last few episodes) and another episode or two, but it is what it is.

I love that it didn't end like certain similar anime with the humans' and non-humans' conflict.

They ruined what was supposed to be a masterpiece! The story should've ended in season 1, when the children escaped. That should've been the ending. Even though it would be open-ending, at least it ended with a good impression from the viewers.

I feel so sorry Yakusoku no Neverland ended this way. Disappointing.

Okay so when i saw this anime teh 1st season was AMAZING 10/10, It was basically an anime version of Shawshank Redemeption where they had intricate and elaborate plans and figuring out how to escape. even if most of the "intense" cliff hangers at the end of each episode were pretty much all false to trick ya it was fun.

This seasn though, ugggh. Instead of theme mostly figuring out and planning they just learn to hunt for like 6 episodes, then we find out Norman is alive and wants to go to war but doesnt, rendering that 2 episode arc kiiinda pointless and at the end of it all it became this saappppy dumb generic "friendship is magic" plot. and if that wanst bad enough we dont even get a liiil mystery on the very end, like FMA where its like do they ever meet again or do they just stay n tehir own sides of the gate forever, and the end is like nope happy happy unstaisfiyingly rushed end.

its funny because IN MY OPINION everybody who has watched this season has wasted their time, the animation compared to the first season was bad, i didn't at all like the character designs for the older versions of the characters ... will that stop me from buying merch? no. but do i hate this season and its final episode? yes.

What a ride like a roller coaster. Started (arguably) high in the initial three episodes slowly climbing to a climax, then the ride goes downhill into a succeeding cluster of twists, turns, corkscrews to dizzy the riders (episodes 4-7). Next, some tension builds up as the roller coaster climbs up a smaller hill, races downhill, then performs the same routine again (episodes 8-9). Eventually, the ride has to end and does so by slowing down as the carts ploddingly reach back to the station on the ground (episodes 10-11). This season would have done better with one more episode to conclude the hurried ending because at least the conclusion would look something else other than a powerpoint montage at which point a simple message should have appeared that stated, "Go read the manga!". However, after looking at the last episode I now have a good reason to read the original source (and if you check my profile I have no stats for manga).

Btw, Phil was the real guy. The best guy.

They completely undermined Norman and Ray's integrity for the sake of propping up Emma's retarded pacifism.

You thought Norman was supposed to be intelligent - some kind of master strategist? Nope, turns out he only chose genocide because no one told him, "this isn't what you really want." Oh, okay, thanks Emma.

0/10 ending to a 10/10 show, doesn't even matter that it was rushed.
