Oh geez, seeing that bloody arm on the ground...shit got real fast.

On Legoshi's side, his condition doesn't look too well. Riz and Tem's scenes were very chilling to watching considering how different they are. Seems this season isn't holding back much when it comes to animal feelings. That was intense.

Sorta wish they kept the scene with the arm actually being ripped out like in the manga. But i guess TV broadcast rules. :P

But damn those baritones (i think, could be trombones) in the ost with Riz are so damn good! Deep bass notes fit Riz well! And man. I love Riz! One of my fave characters finally gets his limelight! Didnt think theyd do the whole small pupil with more whites on his eyes, but im glad they did! And that 360 during the riz x tem hug moment into the bloddy face.. that was amazingly done!

it seems that the killer wanted acceptance from Tem so much that they subconsciously hallucinated a reality where Tem accepted them, while their instincts as a large carnivore took control of their body and devoured Tem. Such a tragedy. This is what could have happened to Legosi and Haru in episode 1 if he didn't snap out of it quickly enough.

I think this is the first time an anime has made me feel bad for a murderer ...

Oh damn, that final scene with Riz. Kinda reminded me of the movie Voices with Ryan Reynolds, you feel with the murderer but in such an uncomfortable way.

And yup, that's how it was. Riz has been living a life with self fabricated lies. Everything after "You carnivores are all monsters" at that
Manga or anime, this is one of the most fucked up moments of the series

Well I wasn’t expecting them to reveal the killer that anti-climatically, but I think it was best that they did it this way. The bear was obviously the killer, so it wouldn’t have made a lot of sense to have a huge reveal for it. I also liked that they complicated the bear’s character by not being an evil guy that just wants to eat herbivores. That being said, it should’ve been well-known that Tem was friends with him if they were best friends.

Geez, Riz was about to absolutely wreck Legosi right then and there. I can't imagine what other sh*t is gonna go down now that they know the truth. The 3 of them can't possibly walk around casually anymore knowing they have to watch their back every moment.

Shit went down REAL FAST everywhere, and the threat of herbivores and carnivores is as ever present a.k.a Kibi's arm dislodged for an (intentional) freak accident that caused the interspecies segregation.

The finding of Rhys in the anime felt somewhat anticlimactic with a simple confrontation with Legosi, and now Pina wants a piece of the murderous pie. Guess they wanted the impact lessened (considering the circumstances), and this worked for the better in pacing.

Of course, this affects the Drama Club, and I can surmise the "Breaking Bad" tones of obedience vs. defiance.

The backstory of Rhys in the Drama Club though...Tem's friendship was working for the better with him, like best friend buddies. The therapy from Tem certainly rears its ugly head when Rhys tried to force Tem to see the real him (leading to Season 1's opener scene).

What an episode though...

Legoshi once again wildin with these questions.

It also seems that my theory on Riz was correct. Although, I wasn't expecting the story on how the murder actually played out to be so bitter-sweet.

Riz has been outed as the killer, Pina and Legoshi know, Arms being ripped out, School closing, The drama club on its last legs, Possible carnivore-herbivore segregation. A lot of shit is coming up next, and I'm all here for it.

I have a question... Was Riz and Tem's final dialouge the illusion that Riz had? Or did that dialogue actually happen? I am quite confused with the context and motivation of why Riz ate Tem.
Even if I'm alone, I'll go, even if I want to die.
I can hear your voice, saying I shouldn't die.
Even if it's difficult, even if I cry from loneliness
I can feel warmth from deep inside my heart.

Going round-and-round and flowing, time is ever-changing.
I can't remember what happened anymore, but
If I try and close my eyes, I can hear someone's laughing voice
For some reason, now, that is My Most Precious Treasure.

Damn. Starting the episode with a bloody arm on the ground and ending it with sympathy for the murderer. Tbh I was lowkey hoping that arm was fake and Kibi was gonna reveal his real arm underneath his T-shirt or something.

The part where Riz was chomping on Tem was a nightmare and will haunt me for some time.

All in all, it was very terrifying to watch.

Damn this was a rollercoaster of an episode. I genuinely thought that the arm thing was a prank. They are actors after all. But no, he literally ripped his arm off without realizing it. Then the second most nonchalant reveal ever. Riz getting angry had me scared. He seems friendly and immediately shifts to terrifying when he realizes the gigs up. Guess it all ties up now with the whole pills in the bin.

The final dialogue did happen, though Riz hallucinated Tem accepting him, when in reality Tem was probably screaming for help or something. Riz's carnivorous instincts took over his body, by the time he snapped out of it, He had already devoured Tem.

That why this show is meh and it's history is shit, makes absolutetly no sense how their society reached this point if you need pills (that doesn't realy work) to suppress carnivores and let them live together. It's like a history where humans live under the water using oxygen tubes and diving suit since the homosapiens era.

How would that not make sense? Carnivore too dangerous so carnivore take pills to make them less dangerous. Seems pretty simple to me.

Well, only a select few actually need these pills. And I don't think that even they have to take them all their life. Perhaps, it's just a temporary thing when the carnivores are young. Or if they want to live and work with herbivores for an extended period of time.

This was a dark episode. Did not expect to see the killer this episode. As soon as I saw Big Bear, I knew it was him. The show made it obvious. Pina is also involved; I am guessing there is a particular reason behind that. Also, Big Bear was gruesome dude.

anyway move on, even if he didn't want to harm Tem he still did it, but I guess now either he will commit suicide or sacrifice to save someone else, I don't think there is another option to clear his actions, or maybe he will just go to jail

The ripping-his-arm incident was so sudden that it didn't even feel real at first, I thought they were acting or something for a few seconds; everyone reacted so tardily, they really should've been faster. Tem's killer has been exposed, and it's getting real dark real quick!

I honestly feel so bad for Riz. He is like Legoshi was in the first season, but just having gave into his full strength. He had to take pills to hide his strength and it was hurting him. Being bigger and stronger than everyone around him made him feel lonesome. He finally found a true friend in Tem but let his strength and urges get the best of him and went too far. I doubt anyone will care about the details. Both the herbivores and carnivores have so much to worry about. Many things of which they can’t help and have to deny their nature.

Great episode and show in general. I loved the ost that played when Riz story was explained.

The pills did work, Riz just stopped taking them. If he continued using the pills, nothing would've gone wrong. Also, not every carnivore needs pills. While we can assume that other species do take the pills, we currently only know that bears who happen to be taller than 2 metres have to. It seems to be a very small minority.

geeez, sasuga Beastars for making me feel so conflicted on a villain lol

Well first thing, looks like it did indeed end up being Riz that was the killer, ngl at the veryyy beginning of the series I had initially assumed it was Legosi, but at least there is some resolution there. Tbh I thought Pina was gonna end up taking credit for finding Riz was the killer and completely void Legoshi's efforts, but so far doesn't seem the case

As for Riz's backstory, it's a shame he did end up believing in his own delusions that he no longer needed the pills, especially when he had a great friendship going on with Tem, but damn, that scene where Riz thinks they're hugging it out but in reality he was killing him was just like oooo damn

Though I'm curious how Riz is gonna play out now, he's clearly busted, he clearly has some weird guilt from the aftermath, but so far at least it doesn't seem like he's facing any consequences lol

I mean it was an accident. The only thing he really did bad was not confess and then try to cover it up by beating up Legosi and threatening to kill him and Pina.

Damn its always the nice ones that are far more scarier. Nobody understands the real image of em and they always have inner demons trying to lurk outside. Both Riz and Tem had good things going on until they touched what should never be opened. Tread with fear upon the unknown.

And damn Bill x Els. WEW Legosi ain't the only one with a thing for small furries eh. XD

Damn things started out really bad when one of their club member got their arms just ripped from the body. This time Puma is clearly guilty, although unintentional. And because of this, the Drama Club might be forced to shut down, and worst of all, the segregation of carnivores and herbivores. We're really getting into some Crow Laws stuff here, ladies and gentlemen.

But the big one that happened in this episode is the reveal that Riz is the one who killed Tem. Unfortunately for our big bear, is that Pina overheard that reveal and is keen on putting the conditions on our suspect. And then we got the backstory...wow that was beautiful with its misery. Tem was the one who provoked Riz to change and stop taking the suppressant pills, and this lead to his unfortunate death. The shot and the transition where Riz and Tem were shown hugging was really done well. When we cut into Riz bloodied and Tem's body lying on the ground, the reality just sets in for me. Even though it is really cruel and unforgiving of what Riz done, for some reason...IT IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL.

"Memories Soaked in Honey", the painful memories of Riz soaked and covered by the honey that he's drinking, what a fitting title for this dark and revealing episode.
