Straight back into things as if the show never left. I think the first half with younger Shimarin's first camping trip is anime-original content, but my memories of volumes 5 and 6 of the manga are somewhat fuzzy. Regardless, this was a nice first episode, and I'm already liking the new soundtrack (even if it's going to have a hard time living up to how good the season 1 soundtrack was).

Love the new OP as well, and just overall glad that my favourite slice-of-life series is back now.

How important is it to watch the first season and stuff before that? I'm going to do this in the coming days, since I was on-hold the first season a few years ago, but I feel an overwhelming urge to start the second anime right away.

Despite how it looks, the anime isn't really episodic and there's a slight buildup about the relations between the characters so you should really watch the first season before starting this one

Hngh, it's so good. My day... no, my week has been blessed. I only finished season 1 like a week ago, but I already missed the Secret Society B L A N K E T. Smol inexperienced Rin is so cute, imma need a gif of that waving Rin.

I see Inuyama's trolling is still in full force, I believed that dog story like all her other stories lmao. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Yuru Camp Season 2 is finally here. I binged this back in December 13 and when I watched this (I'm gonna say this) does it almost feel like nothing changed at all? Yes it does bcos we still have the same feels and the same Yuru Camp warmth, and I feel it'll be better in this season.

In the first half we actually get a flashback when Rin is camping for the first time with her father. Seeing Rin being confused on things that she was unprepared of is really cute to watch. One thing I will say is that she ate the rice too early that she wasted it, poor rice. Also she asks a random stranger for some tips to light a bonfire, that same stranger is an acquaintance of Rin's father who's chilling in a cafe. The first time Rin camping was so cute but then we actually cut to a scene where Nadeshiko is looking at Mt.Fuji all the way from her hometown Hamamatsu, that was SO NICE.

We cut to the present where we see our girls working on their part times just before the New Years. Chiaki is the only who ain't getting a vacation on New Years, aww she's pouting really hard. Rin is planning to camp on Izu Peninsula but will be forced to camp on Iwata. Before she sets off to Iwata, she meets Nadeshiko outside a konbinyi store. Seeing them two together is like a creamer added in coffee, they're just so sweet when they're with each other.

And that is the start of Yuru Camp 2. I'm surprised with how BIG (8.58) the score is, but I think it deserves it. This is the anime that we'll be watching while we're stuck up in our homes as COVID looms again in our daily lives. I'm glad they kept the same direction and the same feel as the first season. Just like what I said...

...but if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing change at all?

So happy to see Yuru Camp again. Been waiting for three years for this

Nice to see how the girls are doing and how Rin started out camping. Awesome visuals and relaxing atmosphere as we know and love. Me made look back when I watched the first season back in 2018. I remember how this anime made me feel better after my dad's passing.

Gonna rewatch the 1st season again while waiting for future episodes.

Is it just me or do the background art and landscapes look even more detailed than in the previous season? Absolutely breathtaking.

As expected, fantastic start for this awaited second season. First half with Rin struggling in her first camping trip was both cute and nostalgic to see. Not to mention the scene with the cup noodles her mother packed for her just in case gave me such a heartwarming feeling.
Second half was also rather entertaining but man, poor Aki. She didn't get any day off as the rest of her friends xD

It's very important. In Yuru Camp the flow of the events is more relevant than perhaps in other typical iyashikei. The entire first episode of this season for instance is full of throwbacks to things that are mentioned in the first, even as subtly as a bit of a dialogue. And in general it's a series with a lot of continuity. It's not like you can't enjoy it, but you'll enjoy the whole package a lot more.

Including OVA and last year's chibi miniseries?

P.S. Do you have an MC from the anime schoolgirl goddess or your userpic?

Uhm, depends. The first OVA yes, it's an origin story of the Outdoors Club. The rest not really, they are random adventures. But seeing the continuity of the series, some could be referenced sooner or later. Same with Heya Camp.

Hmm. You are already the second person to tell me this, so I will try to heed this advice. And if I remember correctly, is this franchise devoid of excessive fan service?

I watched this anime relatively recently and I liked it pretty much because I love SoL with a good plot, which actually tells the story, rather than giving me moe.

That's good to hear. I can expect a fanservice in a harem or a romantic comedy, but when I see it in moe title, I start to feel like a dirty old man/

Then you are in for a treat :). In fact, while the show is no doubt cutesy and moe, it seems the authors are aware of this and try to not overload it so that it gets in the way of the series' other qualities.

And like MaskOfIce said, even if it's not completely, you can consider it virtually devoid of fanservice.

Good episode. The show and gang is back. With their sama shenanigan. Rin plans to camp on the seaside. Nadeshiko screentime is little this episode. The art and OST is good with that nice OP and soothing ED song.

Overall good start for the second season.

It's a bit retarded to boil rice straight in the fire, especially considering she was already in junior high during that time. Otherwise I loved it.

Omg, this 1st episode is so bad, if not because the 1st season is quite good, i would have dropped this anime probably 😓

Flashback is such a weak start, as they should show that in the middle of 1st season. And then the girls talk about their part time job which is such a normies thing. 🤮

But the ending is quite good n hopefully is a sign the next episodes will be just fun cgdct stuff. Which is the reason i wanna watch this anime to begin with. 👍

Lol, I certainly know that the word moe is multifaceted, but in the words of the producer that ANN transmitted, it starts to look like just some kind of yuri bait or yuri-ish fan service. Or is it just that I already have such a professional deformation that I start to see yuri in any mention of cute girl interaction, lol.

But anyway, I appreciate that they wanted to tell the story, and not sell another moe title.

I don’t know why I love this anime so much. It’s really wonderful and the minimal dialog makes if far easier to enjoy the interactions and solitudes of the characters as they enjoy camping.

Who would have thought such a a subject could be so interesting.

Every single second of this show.

I am so glad that its is back for another season. And the show got off to a good start, offering a glimpse into Rin's days as a novice camper. Her first (or last, depending on the perspective) solo camp of the year ought to be fun. Especially as the red string of fate brought Rin and Nadeshiko together again.

I think what they are saying is that they don't want moe to be the single driving element of the show's interactions, not to remove it completely. They say it doesnt' just adhere to it. Of course it's hard to deny that the series has this element.

@RobertBobert I'd say the "touchy-feely" part is not so much about yuri-baiting or yuri-ish (they are fanmade terms with ill definitions anyway) but more about not cuddling or acting cutesy in front of each other. I think the show does that by drawing a distance, like the one people usually have with their friends, chatting, making jokes, etc. The "you're cute" aspect may be a bit of a nitpick but it's kind of welcome, like I don't need somebody telling me on screen that Nadeshiko is cute, I have eyes xD

10/10 season premiere. Pure wholesome goodness and I appreciate how accurately Yuru Camp portrays camping. I've made all of the same beginner flubs as Rin (bending tent pegs, not knowing how to make a fire, burning campfire food, etc.) and yes, hot instant noodles taste way better when you're tired, cold and outdoors.
