| Tenshi no Tamago (Angel's Egg) Directed by the legend Mamoru Oshii of Ghost in the Shell fame. It has a 7.68 and I suspect its only that way because of it's obscurity due to its age. One of the most hauntingly beautiful animations I've ever watched. |

| Jinrui Wa Suitai Shimashita at 7.79. I guess it's predictable, a nonsensical seinen comedy anime that mixes up misleading cute fairies and design with weird and deep subjects is not for everyone, but it worked perfectly for me (hence the score). |

| Kono Danshi, Uchuujin to Tatakaemasu @ 6.88 I guess I understand why - it's a short anime (1 episode with 28 minutes), Original (i.e. not based from a manga or any other existing medium), the art/animation isn't exactly what one would view as 'conventional' anime, AND it's shounen-ai - pretty much the formula for a low score. But if people look past the artsy animation style and the fact that it's shounen-ai, it's actually something quite magical. Weird, quirky (I hate that word, but nothing else can describe it perfectly, really), and certainly not original in terms of plot, yes - but the execution to me was perfect. |
