@Doougii - Kami no Tou: Has 3 of your likes' genres: Adventure, Mystery, Drama, for me was a solid 8/10. - Darwin's Game: With 2 of your likes genres, Mystery and Shounen, was a pretty decent anime. I used this one on item S.18 of the AWC 2020. - Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!: Adventure-tagged anime, rated +8.00 on MAL, I think deserves a watch. 9/10 for me. I used this one on item B.15 of the AWC 2020. - Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu.: Has the Adventure genre, solid 8/10 for me. - Yesterday wo Utatte: Drama anime, adult characters, maybe you like that. 7/10 for me. I used this one on item P.18 of the AWC 2020. Hope you like what you select from the list. @ScarletCelestial To ScarletCelestial 1.Kimetsu no Yaiba or Demon Slayer: 26 episodes. Availability: Funimation, It's about a kid named Tanjirou, who discovers that his family was killed by demons but fortunately, and unfortunately, his sister is still alive but turns into a demon herself. And so begins a journey of a boy just trying to turn his sister back to normal while hurting down demons, so he can find the solution to help his sister. It has amazing fights with some beautiful animation and hilarious moments that, while distracting sometimes, makes for some great characters and their development. Dorohedoro: 12 episodes Availability: Netflix The story begins with a humanoid lizard eating a wizard head. Why is he doing this so ask? Well, you see the humanoid lizard, named Kaiman, was a human before but he has no memory of his past nor does he have any clues to find his body. But he does have one solution, if he puts someone in his month, they will see a guy there either saying you're not the one or angrily saying you did this to me. But so far, in the first episode, it has been the first opinion. And so begins a journey with Kairman and, his partner Nikaidou, hurting down wizards in search of the one who did this to him while a wizard group, lead by En, wants to take revenge against Kairman. With mystery and great action, and the addition bouns of being one of the few anime that can do CG and 2D animation being greatly well done, its an amazing anime. Kakushigoto: 12 epsiodes Availability: Funimation A girl, who is 18 at this point, walks to this house. A house that was own by her father, a house she was told to go to by a mysterious letter, a house that when she enters she finds pages and pages of a manga about dirty jokes but why this is the case she must discover within the house. But that's not all to this anime. You see the anime also focuses on her father, years into the past, where you discover that he did all of this... because he was embarrassed about it and didn't want his young daughter to find out. And so begins a hilarious story about dad making sure his daughter not find out about his job while dealing with the problems of being a mangaka with a sad story about his daughter discovering how much her parents love her. Hope you enjoy all or one of these anime! |

@Rinarin Baby Steps First up we have Baby Steps, a sports anime in which the main character is not a natural born talent and instead has to work hard and use his intelligence to win matches, With a touch of romance which seems to be one of your favourite genres. Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan An absolutely hysterical anime about a boy with psychic powers and his struggle to live a normal life, sure to make you laugh a ton. Whilst technically 120 episodes they are only 5 minutes which works out to roughly 26 normal length episodes. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou Here’s a show that’s more relaxed and slow paced than everything else I’ve recommended, A sombre Sci-Fi Mystery, Girl’s Last Tour follows two young girls as they travel through a post-apocalyptic world. Stranger: Mukou Hadan And finally a shorter option in the form of a movie, A great samurai film with one of the best choreographed/animated fight scenes ever shown on screen. I've gone for a wide variety in my recommendations so hopefully you are able to enjoy at least one of them. @Punkero Hi Punkero, You've seen quite a lot of anime, but after reading your post and looking through your list, i've come up with 4 recommendations that i hope you'll like, i personally enjoyed each of them thoroughly. Akatsuki no Yona This one is on your PTW list so it was a no brainer. The story is rich in character growth, betrayal, romance, action and by the end of it i felt quite attached and empathetic to each character. Princess Yona starts the series as a spoilt, selfish and brattish girl, but after being cast into the harsh worlds reality, she finds inner strength of character and learns to overcome many obstacles in her path thanks to her trusty companions. It's a fantasy medieval setting with lots of battles and horse chases. Sora no Otoshimono: Forte Looking at your list it appears you've watched the first season and the movies that come after this 2nd season, so if you have already seen this feel free to ignore and go with one of the others. It seems you enjoyed the first season, so you already know what the second season will hold. There's lots of ecchi fanservice and perverted humour. The 2nd season delivers the same quips and gags from the first series but also expands on the story. The humour is outrageously funny to me, but the story advancements keep everything on track as well. I found the movies a bit dissapointing but i would highly recommend the 2nd series. Zombieland Saga Zombieland has cute girls vying to become idols but with a deadly twist... It's a fairly light-hearted series and can be quite comedic, however the zombie aspect is very unique and memorable outside of all the other sol idol shows. The idols manager is by far the funniest character becuase of his random one liners. Highly recommended to you having seen lots of anime, because of it's unique take on the idol genre. Another Another one (pun very much intended ;) ) not on your list. Another is about as close an anime comes to pulling off a traditional horror story. It's mysterious, it's gory, it's filled with memorable hyper violent deaths, it even has a couple of jump scares, but it also has a decent story. Because you said you like Mystery and Horror, this one combines both and i got sucked into trying to figure out what is actually happening to the characters at the school and who is committing the murders. By the end, characters you thought were good turn bad, and characters you thought were bad turn good, it keeps you guessing all the way to the fiery conclusion. I hope you enjoy one or several. Happy watching !! @KuriPuri I would like to recommend: ACCA: 13-ku Kansatsu-ka Aoi Bungaku Series I want to recommend these two anime because I feel like these anime suit the criteria they made while also being excellent anime to watch. ACCA is one of my favorite anime. It is a nice blend of mystery, relaxation, thriller, and anticipation. The world is constructed in a way that allows you to imagine how these various districts function and interact outside the scope of the anime, so the world building is also nice. I also recommend the Aoi Bungaku Series provides a sense of thrilling dread. It is a collections of depressing/mysterious stories that aren't exactly horror but will allow for further interpretation on your part. Also, due to the various stories in the anime, you may have some stories that you like more than others and some of these stories have manga that elaborate further on the concepts! Hopefully, you like these recommendations! |

@Gwathgor My recommendations for Gwathgor Cyberteam in Akihabara: Well, for starters, it constitutes both a magical girls show and mecha, and it was created in the 90's, so it basically covers all of your "likes". JoJo's Bizzare Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders: The best moment to continue watching JoJo is any moment at all, and it only gets better from here with the introduction of the Stands. Kamisama Kiss 2: or maybe you would prefer to continue with this cute and funny romance shoujo we both seem to have loved. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: and lastly (and to give you a much shotert option just in case) this OVA that works pretty well as an appetizer for one of the best Slice of Life manga ever written. @UnwantedLoli A lot of the anime on your PTW list are shows I haven't seen yet, so I decided to limit myself to just one thing I've seen (as well as one wildcard I thought you'd enjoy). From your plan to watch list: Serial Experiments Lain - If you can get past older animation (the show aired in 1998, after all) and the required rewatches it takes to fully comprehend the narrative in Serial Experiments Lain, you'll have a great time watching this show. It's one of my favorite psychological anime. Wildcards: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - You don't need to watch the original Ghost in the Shell movie to enjoy this, Stand Alone Complex is a 26-episode long side story about Section 9's exploits in other cases. Granted, it does have the Mecha tag, which you may not like (don't expect Stand Alone Complex to be a mecha show - aside from the episodes about the Tachikomas, mecha aren't relevant in this show if I recall correctly), but it does also have plenty of action. @Papa_Dragon Ajin (Action, Mystery, Horror, Supernatural, Seinen) *Yes it is CGI. Luckily, not that kind of cursed CGI. You'll get used to it once you got immersed in the story. The grayscale color palette makes the animation bland to look at. But I'll tell you that the fights are really great in both hand-to-hand combat and gun fights *Kinda like Tokyo Ghoul where a guy got his life messed up and strives to survive as a newbie in the half-human monster business. *Has awesome badass villain gramps. *MC may be flawed he is unlike most generic MCs. Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Romance, Seinen) *One of my personal favorites. Teenage girl fell in love with a post-menopausal guy. Nope, it's not what you think it is and I'm glad. *A heartwarming and innocent story with a realistic take on the said trope. *Makoto Shinkai-esque type of animation but has a livelier palette. *Akira, our heroine, a lovable kuudere who gets even more cuter when she get romantically excited *And lastly and probably one of the best selling points, we have Ref:rain by Aimer for the ending theme that's pretty much about it |

@-Ez_Bri_zy- This was a bit tricky for me because you have seen so very much. I ended up needing to ignore one of your requests (before 2000), because so much of my list has already been seen by them. That said i was able to come up with 2 recommendations. 1.Knights of sidonia Interesting characters get you emotionally invested. Hits both the horror and mystery notes, and even gives you a bit of spectacle to round it out. The real drama comes out in season 2. 2.B: the beginning A mystery thriller that'll keep you guessing. The best parts follow the detective. |

@Imyreld Hello Imyreld, I recommend you the following titles: Promare: Lio-hen and Kiznaiver. Why those two? Because I saw you gave a good grade to both other promare franchise anime you watched and I thought it will be a good addition see the last episode involving this universe. Also because Kiznaiver is a really psychological anime with deep bounds between the characters. It's really an evolution of the human mind and has a relatively good concept. I won't say more since I know some people enjoy listening to anime without knowing too much about them. ;) I hope you'll like these and have a nice day! :) @acloudwithfeet B: The Beginning The reason I want to recommend this anime it's the plot twist. At the first episode, it makes you feel that the center of the plot will be just the police researching to find a serial killer, but it suddenly grows bigger and tells you it's further than that. I specially like all mystery and thriller anime, but this one it's one of my favorites. I hope you like it! Mugen no Juunin: Immortal The reason I wanted to recommend this anime it's because of its violent beauty, I don't know exactly how to describe it. The art and music takes you to another era, and makes you empathize with the sense of justice and honor of the characters. It's somehow a little dark and bloody, but it doesn't stay there, because you can see beauty even in the darkest places. Idk if I should say this, but I think you haven't watched much samurai anime, this one could be a change Zankyou no Terror The reason I'd like to recommend this anime it's because it's one of my favorites. This anime it's just wonderful. Not only the plot it's interesting and makes you feel like watching the 11 episodes in a row, also the art and music are just amazing, and the characters and their differences of personality, how the story develop and also, that final message. It was so stunning, it makes me cry every time I rewatch it, I absolutely recommend it! Serial Experiments Lain This anime it's just prophetic. It's a must. It feels so actual even though it's older than me. Akira This anime it's a classic too, I recommend it because it's really good, and I like it. It's also a cyberpunk anime, not really common I think @Wyvern22 Gregory Horror Show The Gregory Horror Show is an absurd anime with awkward 3D CGI animation but it has a lot of charm in it's short episodes. If you're looking for something that isn't popular this might be up your alley. Quanzhi Gaoshou If you're up for a Chinese battle anime this might be your cup of tea. Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na! On paper Eizouken is the exact opposite of what you were looking for. With a School tag and high popularity, but I think you should still try out this anime about the creative art of animation. It's wildly creative and doesn't feel like a school anime. |

@__Saku re: Recommendation Roulette Hello,__Saku -san, Hope you had a great Weekend! Stranger: Mukou Hadan - This movie is very similar to Dororo, but action scenes in this movie are more impressive. If you liked watching dororo then I would definitely recommend you watching this movie. Ookami to Koushinryou - This anime revolves around a merchant and a Wolf goddess and their journey together. Most of the anime is just business talk with some hint of romance between two MCs. If you are interested in economics and girl with animal features and wits, then this anime is definitely for you. Bartender - It's simple anime featuring Cocktails, Smiles and tears! Okay that was a bit cringey. The story about a bar named Eden Hall where bartender named Ryuu Sasakura makes cocktails that puts the customer's agitated soul to ease. If you are interested in tales of the drunken adults (not some stupid blabbering but about their lives XD) then this anime will impress you. OR Isekai Shokudou - Incase if you are not interested in alcohol, then how about food? This anime very similar to Bartender, the only difference it revolves around food and has fantasy elements. Bartender is more mature and realistic compared to Isekai Shokudou but I recommend that you try them both if you like at least one of them. P.S. I really suck at recommending things to others (as you can see from my lousy writings). I hope that at least one of them manages to impress you! (β•Ν πΊ •Ν ) @Yterbium Higashi no Eden If you are looking for something that will catch you off guard, this is the right show for you. You won't know until the end, who is playing with your mind and who is telling you the truth. Also naked NEETs is something you must see! (Or maybe not.) Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note If you feel like watching some anime from last year's summer season, I would definetly recommend the adventures of Waver Velvet (aka Lord El-Melloi II). It will play with your mind in the right way and even if you are not a big fan of the Fate series that much, this one might be a nice surprise. Nice soundtrack and animation is just a bonus. Gangsta. As the name implies, there are gangsters which means there’s a crime. But don't let it fool you. It's not your ordinary "crime anime" as this one gets hella complicated towards the end. Despite having some comedy here and there, the majority of the show has a mature feeling. The soundtrack is also briliant. Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi There is saying about the God, that "He rested on the seventh day". Well, in this anime, the God decided to forsaken the world. The series tells the story of a young girl named Ai living in a world without God. Apparently, God has abandoned this world fifteen years ago and now, new humans are no longer born and the dead can no longer die. Luckily, there are beings known as gravekeepers that can maintain balance and bring peace to those who are deceased. Sankarea Zombie fanaticism! Don't imagine the apocalyptic future with tragedy outcome, but a cute, romantic, maybe a bit playfull anime (with some gore feeling sometimes) where one of the main characters is a zombie fanatic. The sad story goes behind the cuteness and everyone has a secret. The OP and ED will make you feel like you are supposed to watch something really cute. Ergo Proxy A really beatifull aesthetic feeling. You can't describe the story, you have to see it yourself. Someone hates this show, someone loves it. |

@smhmines Kimi to Boku. I don't watch a lot of slice of life or romance, but I remember this series being one of the SoL series that I enjoyed the most out of the ones I've watched. Monster This is a long series, but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. The way the plot gradually unfurls the nature of the show's underworld and the past of the main antagonist keeps the viewer intrigued, even if it might drag a little near the end. Hinata no Aoshigure Onto the shorter end of things, Hinata no Aoshigure makes up for its brevity with its appealing art style. I know you prefer if anime look pretty, so I wanted to make sure I picked at least one entry that stood out in that regard. I'm new to recommending things like this, but I hope you enjoy! |

@AngelShiva Had an extremely hard time trying to pick out some stuff I could recommend as I have very little on my list which you hadn't already seen. To my knowledge none of these would fit into the September challenge, sorry about that. However, the three anime I picked I enjoyed myself and would recommend to almost anyone. Isekai Shokudou A calm and interesting look into a Japanese restaurant that closes on Saturdays. On Saturdays, the restaurant opens to another world. Beings from there of all different races and stories taste beautiful looking cuisine, often their first time doing so. The episodes are in an episodic style with a main plot in the background. This is the most peaceful of the three options if you want a relaxing watch. Princess Principal Mysteries. Steampunk. Cute girls. A very good combination. I think this is one of the most unique anime I have watched. The pacing of the storytelling is perfect to make sure you're entertained throughout. ShoujoβKageki Revue Starlight A somewhat lighter take on the format of Mahou Shoujo anime. Girls from a music academy compete with each other on a stage observed by a giraffe for the lead role in "Starlight". There is a strong focus on the relationships of the girls and how competing for the lead spot causes rifts which have to be mended. @Eleanora1315 Mo Dao Zu Shi: An action, fantasy, supernatural, and (slightly) BL Chinese anime with really great characters, fantastic animation, and a beautiful score. Its a little confusing at first because there is some context they leave out that exists in the original source material, but overall it feels like something refreshing and original. Banana Fish: An action crime drama set in 1980's New York. The story is pretty good, but the characters make it great. The chemistry of the main two is really well written, and it keeps you wanting to binge the whole thing. I don't want to go too into it because it is best watched mostly ignorant of the premise, but it has a lot to say and does a lot of it really well. Hellsing Ultimate: Just a wonderful, bizarre, gory time with vampires killing Nazi Vampires (TM) in competition with a militarized Catholic Church. It also makes watching the abridged version on YouTube a much more fun experience. Jojo's Bizzare Adventure: To me this is shonen at its most pure insane form and I love it. I know its not for everyone, but I would like people who are into shonen to give it a try at least, I know that when I did I binged Part 2 in a single day. @SheyCroix β¨For Sheycroixβ¨ Hello, Hello! Here are some recommendations for you~ βPiano no Mori (TV): This series was really refreshing. I binged it (and the 2nd season!). If you can pass over the CGI, give it a try. I enjoyed it way more than the movie (that you liked!). βStarmyu: Because you like Bishounen :) βHigurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai: You haven't finished the story yet! You watched the first season (which you liked) but this season explains the first season so it's a must :D The plot is so twisted, you'll love it. βB: The Beginning: Mature, murder, interesting plot. βKujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau: I loved the art of this series. Story with over-used tropes, I'll admit, but overwall it was pretty decent. βFlip Flappers: I loved the art of this one! There is yuri but it's subtle. It's mature and twisted. βTerra e... (TV): Mature Sci-Fi that will make you think about "What being human really means?". βGlass no Kamen: Because the recent version is one of your favourite and this version is really good also! βNana: This one is 47 episodes. This is more than you asked for. I know. But I still recommend it because you have a lot of other choices. The only negative thing about this anime is that the author went through a depression and never finished the story. That appart, this is my top 1 romance of all time. It's mature, it's deep, it's complex. No annoying characters. They have flaws that make you want to cheer for them. They have qualities that make them special. This anime (and manga) is good. In case you didn't like my suggestions above, here are 2 shorts easy to watch : π Angel Densetsu: I litterally laughed out loud watching this. Maybe I'm immature, IDK. But seriously, characters were cute and story was good. π Asobi Asobase Specials: You've watched the main anime so you know what to expect from this special. This is as good and humoristic :) And for the end, this is some recommendations that were not on your "owned" list. Yup, I'm trying to get a cookie π π« Ai Monogatari: 9 Love Stories: Romance, mature. Some stories are better than the others but they all are worth watching. π« Otaku no Video: This one is a documentary about otakus from the 80-90s. I'm not sure how much about this is really a documentary, but it explains some backstories about the creation of Gainax and I thought it was not only informative but also pretty entertaining. π« Nemure Omoigo, Sora no Shitone ni: Short Sci-Fi movie that was pretty good IMO. π« Tamako Market: Cute romance. I fail to understand why it was once rated so low on MAL (it was once near 7.00). It's cute, relax, no annoying characters. π« Kemonozume: Mature anime with sex and monsters and love. Art is weird as fuck, but it deserves a watch. π« Shigofumi: A story about love, life and death. A little bit similar to Jigoku Shoujo (which you haven't watch...? Omg I should recommend this also!) but less horror and more iyashikei. π« Memories: 3 interesting stories, mature, won an award. π« Mitsuami no Kamisama: A short movie about a girl and a boy falling in love in a post-apocalyptic word. Give it a try! |

I hope I manage to find something to recommend that you will enjoy =) This is a rather new (2016) Chinese movie with a really pretty animation and good story. It has a lot of supernatural factors too. I think it's a safe choice for a fun movie. It's kinda hard to explain the lore but there are dolphins and spirit world things =D Ok now this one is really interesting, I myself haven't watched yet though lol buuuuut It's on my list and I know it have some pretty interesting highlights with music and action. It also has a Idol vibe to it. I think you might really enjoy this one. Princes connect is based on a mobile game if I'm not mistaken, in any case the reason for me to recommend this anime is because it has a lot of cute shine explosions and it's well animated xD Aside from that it's an anime with a decent amount of action and comedy on a fantasy setup. If you enjoy it there will be a second season next year. Baby steps is a sport anime about tennis, pretty much a kid decides to get extra excercise by doing tennis and end up enjoying it. it's a bit longer than what you asked for (25 episodes) but this anime is one of those that you watch like at least 5 episodes everytime you decide to watch hehe A strong suit of the anime is that is 'realistic' like no super power/ op main character, which gives room to good development (there's a second season if you decide to watch and enjoy it) This one isn't all that popular but still a really good show, it's centered around 3 friends in high school but the music is one of the focuses of the show, if you are in the mood for a slightly slower paced show I think you will have a good time with tari tari. Here's another shameless recommendation of an anime I didn't watch xD I checked the first episode and it has some of the things you are looking for. It's fresh, action, supernatural, chinese what not to like? haha Jokes aside it seems to have some a solid fan base (season 3 aired this year) and some fight scenes were really well animated for what i saw. This one is more of a 'It might be a good idea to check' recommendation hehe This last recommendation don't exactly follows the preferences that you mentioned before, but checking your list, scores etc I've noticed that your taste is somewhat similar to mine. So I've decided to add this Ghibli movie that isn't as popular as others but still pretty good imo and since it wasn't on your PTW here it is ^^ Hope you find some time to watch it someday hehe and that's it ~ Hope you can find something to watch on the animes i've listed above =) |

@Jhiday Hello~ I'd like to give you some more and more varied recommendations, but it was difficult to find something that you haven't already watched or that wouldn't have any of your dislikes. That's why I have only two recommendations for you, however I hope you'll enjoy at least one of them. Detective Conan Movie 01: The Timed Skyscraper Fitting both your comedy and mystery likes, it's a very fun movie with engaging plot and likeable characters. Works perfectly well as a stand alone, though since you've seen Detective Conan: Episode One and know the basics of this universe I think you might enjoy this movie even more. Black Jack OVA Now for something darker, a psychological mystery drama. Because of heavily episodic plot it's pretty uneven, with some episodes being outstanding and other not as good, but overall I'd say it's a solid series with very nice visuals and great atmosphere. I saw that you dropped a related series, but from what I know Young Black Jack is pretty different from any other installments in this franchise and generally considered weaker, so I think you still may like Black Jack OVA. |

@ShockZz Witch Hunter Robin 26 episodes Gothic/Noir mystery with supernatural powers. Slow paced but compelling mature story, unique characters. An art style different from the standard. I found this to be very good and something I would highly recommend. Fuujin Monogatari 13 episodes Another with a more unique art style. Which is probably why so few have seen this. A supernatural, slice of life that's unlike most slice of life anime. This one's good, quirky and fun. Kamichu! 12 episodes Yet another supernatural slice of life anime. This one is just great. One of my favorites. Middle school student dealing with school and home life while trying to manage being the new local deity. It funny and really does the slice of life pat really. I dont know why more people have not seen this. |

@MochizukiTomoya My recommendation to MochizukiTomoya is Perfect Blue. It is my favorite psychological horror movie of all time with a lot of depth. This movie constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat as it ramps up in intensity throughout the duration of the film. MochizukiTomoya mentioned that they'd prefer a movie and they also like the Psychological genre, so I thought it'd be the perfect choice for them. |

@bigdud24 Haha, I already knew you were my not-so-secret giver :P Sadly I've been fairly busy and have only had time to watch Blood - The Last Vampire (inbetween trying to watch my roulette anime) but I have Sakamichi no Apollon on the ready for later ^^ For Blood, it was nice to get some kind of insight into what the franchise was like, but as a standalone movie I just don't think it was all that much. Maybe I'd think more of it if I had more context, but sadly I don't :p It's cool though how they hired English VA's for it. I'm grateful for the rec as it meant I finally got around to jumping into the series ^^ |

@jimanator Thanks for the recs. B: The Beginning was a great mystery and definitely the type of anime I typically enjoy. Plus, Season 2 will be coming soon so that's always a bonus. @AngelShiva Now, that makes a lot of sense xDD From those I have on oh-hold, I decided to watch "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai". Since I'm gonna use it for monthly and 52w, should start it this coming week. So I'm kinda looking forward to that. As for the others from that first part, decided to prioritize them, so will add to my queue for the 52w to watch them eventually too. Many thanks! As for those from the last part, I was aware about most of them (just not interested ^^;). The only ones I didn't know of and that caught my eye were "Nemure Omoigo, Sora no Shitone ni" and "Mitsuami no Kamisama" (which reminds me to try and get them). So I will give those a try too~ ♥ |

@Jhiday I'm sorry I haven't watched the anime you recommended yet since I'm trying to complete a 25 episode anime for the main roulette right now! @tamochinnn first off, I have to say that you put in so much effort in your list and it was really cute!! That said, I really enjoyed the two that I've gotten to so far. Giovanni no Shima was very emotionally touching. The animation was very nice and went really well with the mood of the entire movie. It was a very solid choice and I'm glad you suggested it to bring its attention to me (even if it was in my PtW list, it might have taken some time for me to get there.) Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san was such a delight. This really is a gem and I'm so glad you suggested it to me! I was laughing a number of times while viewing this, so it really was a great anime to chill with. I might not have ever stumbled across this anime on my own, so thank you again for this rec! As for Shinreigari, I plan to watch it very soon for one of my 52 week shows. Was thinking maybe this week, but I've been pretty busy/worn out so it might get pushed to another week. I am looking forward to it, though, since your other recs were on point! |

@-Ez_Bri_zy- - Thanks for the recs even though I have mixed feelings on them. -Hisone to Maso-tan I enjoyed. I gave it a 6 and for me that's a good score. It had a really nice artstyle and animation, I liked some of the chars and some others I found annoying like Eru and Nao. -Shinsekai yori I'll prolly finish today. I'm not digging it too much and it'll prolly be a 4 or a 5. -Durarara and Subete ga F ni Naru I have no intention of watching. I watched the first few eps of Subete when it was airing and I disliked it so much I couldn't bother adding it to my list. Drrr I simply have no desire to watch. Sorry if this seems a bit harsh. |

@MochizukiTomoya - Thank you for your recs, I ended up going with the one that piqued my interest the most - Un-Go. I'm a big fan of Bones, and I've been meaning to explore more of their originals, so this was a good chance to get to it. The episodic mystery setup was fairly interesting, the setup and payoff of each episode was done in a way that made me excited to see what the outcome would be, and what kind of cyberpunk twist they would add to it. In a way, it's kind of an undoing of the mystery genre as the premise is that the truth is something that ends up being better off left unrevealed to the in universe public, which is a fascinating concept. I also really appreciated just how mind-bendy the latter episodes get, where the larger plot comes into the spotlight. How all the mysteries ended up tying into the larger mystery of the setting was also super intriguing. Plus it ended up being pretty strong thematically: the important yet hypocritical nature of propaganda, the necessity of revealing and hiding the truth, the necessity and futility of war, the media, and more. All this and the various curveballs thrown my way made this a valuable watching experience. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the prequel film soon as well. While I might not have had time to get to the rest of your recs for this challenge, I'm sure I'll get to them sooner or later. P.S. Was also a fan of the production value; Bones really doesn't disappoint. Plus the ED was a banger. |
