I mean, do they even know what they're saying? Lmao, it's all about execution, presentation , theme, style, that makes all the difference. You can have another anime use the exact same formula, but have the setting , style, execution wrong and it'd turns into total cringe. Also you probably did not even know that most of those cliche/ exaggerated scene on some of those anime are INTENDED, and used as a mean/ style to convey something that only anime can achieve. You think people who produce them didn't know those are so exaggerated and out of their mind? They intentionally chose that style. Just because an anime use a cliche line does not automatically make all the good things about it bad. Also just because you hate an anime doesn't make an anime bad either. We're not black and white paper. Like seriously only MAL people will go to that extreme and HATE on everything about an anime if they use certain trope and ignore everything good about an anime and then tell people they have shit taste. They always look at thing in one dimensional way. If there's one part they hate about an anime, they'd ignore every other aspects of the show and go on hating everything about it and use it to justify that people who like that anime have shit taste. But I knew talking to people here is like shouting to a wall, so I'm not going to bother debating anymore. |

I genuinely cringe during the stupid romcom anime scenes where a girl slaps a guy for an accident, or an """accident""". There are points where I've stopped an anime because of it. Not dropped, but give a good pause. |

(coming from a character the other person is not even interested in) "You <insulting word>" "It can't be helped you are such a <insulting word> so I have to come along to make sure you don't get yourself in trouble" sometimes followed by "you better be grateful" And basically every other line said by tsunderes. |

But I knew talking to people here is like shouting to a wall, so I'm not going to bother debating anymore. Yup, I mentioned people like you. And if you haven't read it, I wrote about all the good things(according to me) in my next comment. I don't blindly hate it. I just think it's mediocre. But no, people want me to like it, because they do. Because "it's intended". And this is my fault that I don't get it. Sorry mate, I prefer a story that is realistic in the world it's taking place in, and multidimensional characters who I may think as real people. I prefer immersive stories. And if all the things are intended, maybe you can say the same about a similar anime, Fairy tail. After all we don't know what goes through creators' mind while they make the story. So what audience feeds is what we get from it.(I don't mean it, just a joke) And this is rated above Fate Zero and Parasyte, which are two of the most philosophical stories in any medium. Yeah....... I can agree on something with you, people on MAL just are that way. |
Anime was it's best 20000 years ago, when cavemen drew art with real depth. Modern anime is all garbage. I miss great old days of anime. |

Oh now I remember watching a Shoujo romance OVA... Ahaha The boy just met the girl at the bus station and when they meet again at school, he stops playing around with girls (because he's a huge playboy) and suddenly says " I've decided that I love this girl, so I can't play with you girls anymore" They just met 1 hour ago at the bus station... EDIT: he puts a hickey on her neck in front of everyone after that . MY TEETH WERE SCREECHING |

This was definitely very cringey. You obviously missed the entire point, then. The point being that "Don't believe in yourself; believe in me, who believes in you" is a statement that doesn't make much sense logically, but makes perfect sense emotionally. It's a show you watch with your heart, not with your head. The conflicts are about emotion, not about logic. This is Gurren Lagann in a nutshell. |
This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi! I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom: "Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news. Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people. Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation. There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime. You should be watching Carole & Tuesday." |

Lmao thank you, this completely describes my opinion on Gurren Lagann. It's not supposed to be a realistic show, it's supposed to be something you connect emotionally to. Ofc enjoyment is subjective, so if someone didn't enjoy the show, I have no qualms, but people making arguments about it being unrealistic and over the top in order to justify their dislike for it don't hold that much validity to their opinion in my mind. |

He's not useless. His obligation is not to tell the dead about their past. As an arbiter he must only observe them in order to judge them. Every single line from Diabolik Lovers sounds like pure poetry: "Crying won't help you, Little Bitch." I don't know on which episode you are but you clearly haven't completed it. He's not supposed to judge good. The anime wants to show that nobody should judge other people because one can never know what the other person's real thoughts are. And Decim later starts understanding this thanks to his assistant. |

I know I'm really biased to this (for obvious reasons), and I do know what you mean, but I think most people have interpreted that line as a way of her saying that she herself doesn't know who she is (she is the snow, and she has forgotten her color), because later in the show it is explained that she lost her sense of humanity after living for so long. I agree the line could've been better but I hope I made some sense. :) |
