Bam's redemption as an Irregular to attempt an individual test from the floor's guardian (the same guardian duiring his Wave Controller contact), and the reveal of Director-cum-Ranker Yu Han-Sung knowing Bam's determination to climb the Tower all along, to fulfill Rachel's dream and their destiny together.

The Last Examination (the EXTREMELY difficult one): the Submerged Fish Hunt. The vulnerability of Shinsoo for these participants, is the same as the beginning where Leroro enforces the same exact Shinsoo as means to separate the worthy ones from the rest to continue the journey of the Tower, so everyone reprises their Positions (with the injured Rachel by Bam's side). And also, literal traps where their very lives could be finished in an instant. So, working together is the name of the game.

Everyone sure is working hard to survive as long as they can (Shibisu being the decoy as usual) while Khun's strategist continues in the background. At least everyone understands Bam's purpose in this time, to fortify everyone and overcome challenges. Very brief, but an important outlier. Alas, backstabbers will be obstructions, and the wayward Keikaku plan of Khun's was messed up, and leaves everyone in a frenzy.

The CRUCIAL bit: whilst the Princesses of Jahad, Anak and Androssi manage to save Shibisu from the Bull, Royal Enforcement "Yuga" Ren, awaiting for his time to strike, manages to get a hold of Anak, and a brief stint of the saga of the Jahads ensue (with the eventual reveal of Ren's murder of Anak's mother). With the Green April captured and Androssi rendered unconscious, this sinister scheming level is growing to be a huge one. This fight...is not over yet.

A very fast paced episode with no breaks. The end of the exam next week, and what will the Princesses' fate be under Ren's diabolical schemes?

Gosh, that arrow messed everything up. They have to reset the strategy, I don't understand what you are actually doing.

Looks like Aanak and Endorsi are cornered, fighting people like that is not easy. Although Aanak has been given a chance, in my opinion it is not a chance because it is a hard choice, dude.

Big Rak is back hallelujah!! Anyways, now that's done, this episode is the definition in things going sideways fast. Holy hell the underwater test is no joke. The description seems kind of convoluted but made sense by the end. Basically protect the dolphins, sounds alright enough. While Bam and Rachel, still waiting on her to do anything, are in that bubble basically just bystanders during the whole thing. That part is not that good since it makes them irrelevant to what looks like the final arc of this season. I'm sure they'll do more than just reminisce next episode but here it was just going in circles.

Anaak, my sweet baby Anaak. Really sad she's gonna die. My jaw did drop wide open when she was punctured right through her heart of at least chest. Did not expect that, that royal cop is a pos. Saying her even being born was a crime, up yours buddy. Hopes that Anaak would do something to get out of there until she was heavily wounded. Endorsi for all her talk didn't do so good against the Bull. Idk if that cop enhanced the Bull somehow or it was just hiding it's strength to lure her away but damn that was rough to see with Endorsi being overtaken. Now faced with having to kill Anaak after growing so close. No way I could kill my niece so hoping Endorsi will feel the same.

Everything kind of went to shit by the end for the test takers. Khun had a good setup but the cop and Bull wrecked it up. Hatz all alone having to be covered by the spear bearers leading to the goblins seeing them. Oof, not good at all. whole plan has been thrown out, now yet just gotta try to salvage this before Bam and Rachel are eaten by the wrong thing.

Anaak!

Another good episode. I didn't notice the quality of animation issues that others have reported here. Maybe I was too engrossed in the episode.
And what an episode at that.

Anak and Endorsi(best girl?) stole the show. I was hoping Bam would get his sword back but that seems unlikely. Just when you think the princesses are op...

Starting of the test on the backfoot, can't wait to see how they will turn it round!

It's the ol tale of. 'Everything is going well. Too well.'

It's the vibe I got from today's ep. As I myself fell victim to that. Seeing that everything was going swimmingly, and then only for the last few minutes of the episode happen. But hey, it glues you to your set. Which is a good thing. Cannot wait for next week.

Shame they cut that pretty important dialogue between Bam and the Coffee boi but the test itself was adapted well, far better than the previous test atleast, especially the part with Yuga. 5.5 chapters were covered this episode, meaning there's 13 chapters left for the last two episodes.

A lot has happened this episode but there isn't much to say. I am excited to see what will happen with the princess's next week, Anak and Endorsi are my favorites so I hope not something too severe will happen to them.

A lot was happening with that fast pace but regardless, enjoyed this episode again. With this test, I like how expansive the area felt with tons of scenery shots for different locations where different characters were. It does still clearly feel like the beginning portion though since not really too much happened except Anaak and Androssi's whole ordeal but a lot more will happen in the final 2 episodes so I'll be patient on those.

“You’re ignoring me too??” It’s ok Shibisu, you still best boy.

Anaak’s mischievous smile here is so cute after Endorsi promised to be her servant if she beat the [bull](https://imgur.com/a/Pf4a8Ph)

Really wild episode today. So this whole test was set up to kill anaak, that’s really messed up. That means the administrator/director were in on this too. Obviously there’s no way Endorsi kills Anaak next episode, but I can’t wait to see how it plays out.

With two more eps to go, if this finishes out strong it’ll be a strong AOTY contender outside of sequels. Hopefully we get a s2 announcement soon too.

Episode 11 and Yuri & her companions are still finding the way to the test area. Hahaha

But, damn! Ren of RED is so strong. He defeated Anaak in an instant, and he's ordering Endorsi to kill Anaak. Being a Jahad Princess, Endorsi can't disobey King Jahad, what will she do? WTF?!

Leo, you really should pick up the webtoon. Not only you get a better grasp of what is happening but also, for me it's a far better experience than the anime. Don't get me wrong, the anime is good, but the webtoon is a work of genius. The only problem that most people have is that at the beginning it's a slow grind. But it's definetly worth it.

Finally, we've arrived at the climax of the season, aka the part that turned the webtoon readers into fans.

The soundtrack was once again very well done.

It's priceless to watch Bam and Rachel chill inside a bubble while others are literally fighting for their lives.

For me, the only good part of this episode (really good in fact) was the underground sequence with "The Bull", the Princesses of Jahad, and Ren (I think that was his name).

I don't really understand the point of this test. If Bam (and Rachel) are being tested to see if they can continue up the tower, why are they just sitting passively in a ball a Shinsu while all the side characters do the heavy lifting? Bam should be the deciding factor for his own trial, not his friends. (Maybe because I saw this on my phone instead of my computer like I usually do, I missed something, but I don't get the point of the trial except for the fact that it was just bait and a set up for the princesses of Jahad. But Bam or Khun should have at least thought "hey, this test doesn't make any sense".)

That was a little bit of a ramble, but more or less, I just didn't get that invested in the trial/test itself.

The test wasn't done to test only Bam and Rachel, but to test everyone. The difference between this test (a test that could only be done because Bam is an irregular and met with the Administrator) and the other test it’s just that Rachel can participate (and then she would be able to climb the tower instead of being disqualified).
This is the last test on this floor, and their part is also dangerous, if the others can't stop the goblins they're dead.

It's a test for everyone, it's high-risk but also a shortcut. They will be able to advance to the next floor much faster by taking this special test, compared to the normal route.

Thanks for the explanation. It doesn't change my thoughts about it however. This just seems like a wasted opportunity to show a little more of Bam. This trial seemed like it was going to be very personal, but he doesn't even end up doing anything. Maybe on my binge re-watch it will make a little more sense.

Well as expected, the test admins used the entire special test as a trick to silently eliminate the threats to King Jahad. Was Ren the very one responsible for murdering Anaak 1.0?

Bam and Rachel in that bubble was so beautiful, but also really symbolic of how they're in their own little world while all the Regulars outside are facing life and death

Good episode. Suddenly it feels like they have saved quite a good amount of time for the last few chapters of the season.

Although I would still say that there are too many cuts in this damn season and I cannot overlook that. I mean, I do not have an answer as to how to cover such a huge caste in one episode. Most of the shows have a transition between 2 scenes. I do not remember a Shonen with a transition between 5 locations. Tokyo Ghoul has 3 to 4 but to be honest, everyone felt chaotic during those times in the beginning chapters of Tokyo Ghoul:re especially the auction arc.

It would be a huge help if someone can remind me of good directing with 4+ locations in one episode.

I don't really get much of what's going on but well, at least the episodes are fun. I would like to see some proper worldbuilding for once tho. I think this is a common issue nowadays; anime adaptations overall are pretty messy and rushed because producers don't want to risk wasting money and the target audience is probably composed of impatient teenagers. That was most likely the same problem with Dorohedoro on Netflix.

Kind of late to the party, but the whole idea of an administrator test instead of the normal ones is that those are so hard they are made with the intention that the irregulars fail. So basically if Bam didnt have any friends who would help him during the test, he would eventually fail it as his only win condition would be extreme luck rather than skill.

If im not wrong the author explained this, that the real intention was rather failure than winning. Tho, he got lucky and his friends will help him. But yeah, basically he is stuck on the shinsu ball and cant do anything about it.

What you are saying makes sense as the administrator (or someone else) says "You need luck to climb the tower". However, it still puts him on the sidelines, which I feel like wasn't a great choice at this point in the series.

Despite the fact this episode adapted an enormous 8 1/2 chapters, I thought this episode was better than episode 7-10, possibly even the best since episode 4. The basin looks great. I lowered the score from 6 to 5 after the ninth episode, but I think I'm changing it back to 6.

11 1/2 chapters left for 2 episodes. Looks like the finale will be decently paced.

I agree. This episode was way better than episodes 7-10, both as a stand-alone and as an adaptation. The anime-only moments were not just fillers or go against the original plot but rather complimented it (Kancho and Blarogue deahts, Hansung and Leroro conversation). It's a shame that Bam/Hansung and Bam/Adrossi dialogues weren't included but it's ok. I hope they won't cut short Ren's monologue on his motive in the next episode though. They should have enough time for it and his next scenes in the next episode considering how ep 12 is gonna end.

Tower of God delivers yet another fine episode! Bam and Rachel finally get the chance to work together in a test that could change everything for them moving forward. This also puts the competitors in their toughest challenge yet, not only because of test itself but because dark forces seek to take advantage of the in order to eliminate the princesses of Jahad.

Even if Bam and Rachel are relatively safe from danger, the episode was really good at building up tension for the supporting characters. This show has proven to be the MVP of the season, and with only 2 more episodes left, I can't wait to see what happens next.

I liked the episode. There was a lot of good moments and build up for the next one. The test was explained, not too many holes and no chocobar comedy with Rak. Now as a webtoon reader, I'm disappointed not being able to watch Bam's coolest moment in this arc with Hansung Yuu. Also felt very bad as anime totally ignored BamxEndorsi ship as well as their conversations with each other, how Endorsi came to like Bam. Hoping that the next episode do their ship some justice as it'll be the last opportunity in this season. I'll be very dissatisfied if one of the fmc candidate and love interest got totally ignored. Now let's talk about BamxRachel, it was handled a bit too well, so I'm hyped how they'll handle the next episode. It'll be Rachel's last opportunity to climb the tower, she must choose wisely. Her choice will determine her fate as well as Bam's. Yuri being Yuri as usual with her interesting carefree and do-as-i-wish personality. Interested to see yuga's true personality in the next episode. Very hyped about the next episode because it's the moment I was waiting for after tog anime was announced, please do webtoon justice in the next episode and I'll forgive all the holes anime created. ✌

As stated in the episode this test was set up to kill anaak, the true motive wasn't to test bam and Rachel.

I feel like the show really needs to work on how often they present new information through exposition and also how much time goes into actually explaining things.

Other than that, I can't wait to see the direction the show will take towards the end of it's first season(hopefully we get a season 2).

P.S. When they said "Bull" I REALLY didn't expect it to look like...well this:

Apathy towards the characters makes it very difficult to enjoy the show. Sigh...

It was Ren, actually. In episode 9 we had his fight with Hansung. They were both using creatures, which makes both of them Animas (people who are able to control other creatures), just like Narae - the blonde regular girl. Khun caught the fact that Bull might be controlled by someone but a little too late. There was also a scene in this week's ep when Ren attacked Anaak with somet hings jumping out of his suit - those were other hidden fish he controls.
