I feel like the MC of this anime is jsut going to get stronger and stronger to the pointthat he's on a level of OPness like Shiba Tatsuya (irregular at Magic High) or Saitama (One Punch). The amount of titles and skills he keeps getting is insane.

Anyways, besides the talk about how OP Satou is, it looks like they're still trying to introduce the rest of the main/supporting cast. I'm pretty curious as to what will happen after that, whether or not there will be a romance between Zena and Satou or if it just becomes a harem or comedy anime (or both). So far it's looking to shape up like 'In Another World With My Smartphone', which while I'm fine with, won't show any real story until after the anime has already ended (forcing you to read the light novel).

... I wonder when the actual age of MC will become substantial to the plot, or was it just a random thing to differentiate from other isekai shows?

I'd say the only thing preventing the MC's age from being substantial to the plot is the fact that there's practically a skill for everything you wouldn't normally see in a game. So everything comes off as something anyone would think to do if they could raise the skill for it on the fly.

As for the age, it's never random. Consider Youjo Senki and Overlord. Both MCs bring knowledge from their previous lives. This is no different, as the MC often references games and criticizes girls based on his preference. Now, consider In Another World With My Smartphone and KonoSuba. The MCs rely more heavily on their skills instead of previous world experience. You can see how this would overlap with Death March. Not quite sure where Shield Hero would fall, as all the heroes summoned come from different backgrounds/age groups. Probably on the skill reliant side.

The only noticeable age difference I've seen in Death March would be his sexual preference. By the looks of it, Satou likes MILFs, so I can't see romance developing for any of the heroines. When you think about it, that would be considered substantial to the plot. With Youjo Senki, it's the MC's genderswap. With Overlord, it's his being undead. The other three mentioned are more generic, as the MCs are young and haven't yet developed a "strike zone." I'll throw in Word Master as a wild card that also follows this tendency. Hence, age is always substantial to the plot when it comes to interacting with the opposite gender.

Now that I think about it, isekai can be separated into two more types besides transported and reincarnated. It can be separated into those who retain appearance and those who change appearance. It's the OP trait that usually remains constant. I wouldn't complain about the MC being the same in terms of personality if appearance and/or setting completely differ(s).

Little disappointed with this episode, felt like they clearly screwed up the pacing and quality in it. First two episodes were good but this one made me worried. I enjoyed the manga so hopefully, they will turn this around and make a respectable series out of it.

Imo, the only things this anime have going for it right now are the OP and ED, the latter more so than the former. It's not terrible, but it hasn't proven to me that it's more than just another isekai. I don't know why, but I just can't seem to enjoy this that much.

At first, it seemed the episode would focus solely on Satoo and Zena's date until the labyrinth was introduced, which made episode go from "meh" to "reasonably interesting" to me. The slave girls are cute and it's good to see Satoo treat them well. Aside from a few takedowns, this episode didn't have much action going for it but the labyrinth leaves the opportunity open for Satoo to develop new skills.

And once again folks are mistaking an anime for a harem anime.

The demon bursting out of the douchebag sure was nasty. The girls are lucky, that Satou is with them.

This show is god awful. MC's "young" voice is so annoying. There's no tension and nothing to overcome... everything is too easy. MC is too OP for this to be of any interest.

1. This is just episode 3, you don't know that.
2. That's not the point of the show.

Another pretty solid episode and not gonna lie but I'm kind of starting to like this series. Yes I understand it's definitely somewhat generic, but there are other pretty solid aspects, mainly the whole game interface/interactions which are pretty cool.

The Family Harem begins! :D I've been looking forward to this since I heard about it. It should be rather refreshing to see the OPMC collecting girls to adopt as family and serve as his children, rather than serve as his erstwhile lovers and then never bother making any children.

So far it doesn't seem good enough, especially since I read the manga (might switch to the novel, I guess - 100% imagination-driven). I keep noticing tiny annoyances all over the place, mostly regarding animation:

1. Zena's clothes "supposedly got wet" - if you throw out the "fanservice...kinda" close-up frame, not only do her clothes no longer appear wet, but she even has a shawl covering her chest properly. What DID she cover up with her hands, exactly? The shawl? (In the manga the shawl was "originally" semi-transparent, so her gesture made sense).

2. This one's mostly in the "pet peeve" category: in the labyrinth, when Pochi tells Satoo about the spider, all we get to see is a "thank you -> *pat*", no tail-wagging like in the manga. Yep, episode's 1-2 seconds shorter and nothing important lost, but at this point I was most likely already LOOKING for these details because of

3. When Pochi chokes on a honey bun, and Satoo gives her some water, there's no water flowing from the waterskin (did I get the name right?). Could be ignored, if the animators didn't put Pochi's mouth (and "animated" her drinking) on a HIGHER level than the container itself.

4....nevermind - the Broken Leg Kick™ has already been mentioned.

If they cut corners this early, I can't even begin to imagine how they handled pretty much everything related to the Mad Princess after she becomes a regular character. Censored fanservice abounds, I suppose, which would inevitably boil the show down to "yet another ecchi title, except we're using the trendy Isekai setting this time". Or, for all I know, this is yet another anime made to be an advertising campaign for another medium.

To sum it up: the anime version doesn't feel...detailed...enough. The question floating around in my head at this point is "Why go for visual medium if visuals don't bring something new to the table?".

I'm going to stick around until the labyrinth/dungeon part ends, but at this point I'm going to need something promising to latch onto to keep watching.

Why is a human "afraid" of a cockroach? I have never heard of someone being killed by one...

I think he feels revolted rather than afraid

EDIT: Now that I think about it, being afraid of a monster would be the natural reaction at an instinctual level, even if he knows it cannot hurt him. I still think he was revolted in this case, though that's a personal perception.

I agree... There had got to be better ways of devising chants. This is one of the laziest representations I can think of, and it's an awful one. Though considering the overall production so far, I cannot say I'm surprised.

@Tsugumi: If you have no complains with the story, I'd say that's enough to keep a anime only viewer watching. I can't really defend your visual complains, but as far as I've seen, the details lie with the amount of inner monologue they've allowed the MC to have. This amount usually wouldn't slide in anime unless it isn't action driven. Even then, it's possible to have no monologue at all. After seeing what little action there was thus far, I'd say that this story isn't action drive. Therefore, the quality of the animation isn't going to be on par with the more motion orientated anime.

Looking at your 4 annoyances, it becomes a question of whether the LN included such detail since the manga may have taken liberties. AntiMagic Academy and Overlord are perfect examples of liberty taking on the manga front, though I'm sure there are others. However, this only covers your first 2 annoyances, as 4 was definitely the responsibility of the staff. Personally, I didn't notice till it was pointed out. It was such a short moment of action that I wouldn't complain how poorly it was executed. In most cases, the budget goes to main events. I'd wait till one of those to criticize the quality as a whole. 3 is debatable, as flow should not be visible when sipping from a container. It would be if it was waterfalled into her mouth in fear of contamination.

I didn't expect a lot from this anime after the first two episodes but honeslty, it's getting even worse than I expected. Half of the ep was kinda boring and the second half was supposed to have some action that I didn't get to see anyway. I'll keep watching cause it's not terrible but I'm a bit "meeeh" at the moment.

Also, voice of MC really gets on my nerves, I just can't stand it everytime he opens his mouth. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

A date to being with, good start for Satou.

Being able to do washing & drying with magic, that's pretty cool.

The way he used those skills to detect the bad people in the crowd reminds me a lot of the Smartphone in Another World anime.

Those 3 slaves were very useful here and will be good to have around, they will enjoy their new life.

All this was pretty mediocre. I mean i just cant get into it when the MC gains all these skills and can handle any new problem thats thrown at him with ease. This episode is just him that sees slaves and then helps them out and then they get transported to some maze and now they'll look for a way out.

Surely we didnt need more than half the episode to cover that segment if he's so OP right?

Also that demon thing looked horrid and sounded just as bad, in fact, that whole situation kind of sucked but I do like how the MC didn't just dive into the middle of everything, but instead decided to survey the area and all that. Anyway. I'm not liking this but I'm going to continue watching because... fury children... Thats a good enough reason right?

This episode was sloppy though, Zena sudden action felt rather unnatural tbh. There wasn't much discussion to mediate the tension as some one of her status should be doing. The whole thing with Urs being a demon came out of no where. I get he used various skills to convince the locals but it all came so fast I had to rewatch the scene.

Well I've officially decided now, this show stinks. After time was dedicated to developing the MC before sending him to the other world, I was really hoping this would be an isekai with thought put into it. Sadly, I was disappointed.

The MC is overpowered and generic (as usual) and the reason behind it is incredibly contrived (as usual). Even if "Meteor" is a high level spell, having it kill a god-level boss monster is utterly ridiculous. The game mechanics, while true to what a real MMO would be like, are incredibly distracting and add nothing to the story other than to allow the MC to be OP. All the girls are falling in love with the MC for no reason (as usual). Just another trashy isekai to add to the long, long list.
