Emilia was one of the main reasons why Re:Zero was such an awesome anime.

Why?
Just because Subaru chose Emilia over Rem?
Just because Subaru didn't choose a psychopath as his lover?
Just because Subaru was loyal to Emilia (the person who he loved the most) instead of falling for a lowly maid?
Or is it Emilia's fault that instead of being a crazy, obsessive, psychopathic, murderous filthy maid unlike Rem, she is actually a caring, kind, elegant, beautiful, compassionate queen?
The only one who deserves to be burned alive is Rem (and Onodera) who manipulated Subaru into falling for her even tho she knew Subaru loved Emilia.
As for Onodera and Chitoge, I did watch two seasons of Nisekoi (and also read some chapters of the manga) and I have to admit that Chitoge is at least better than Onodera.
Onodera has less substance to her than a generic moe character (just like Rem) and that's a fact unlike Chitoge who is actually selfless and wanted Onodera to end up with Raku just so Onodera could be happy even tho she also loved Raku.
Emilia has a selfless and pure heart and she didn't even hurt Subaru ONCE.
On the contrary, she always healed him and saved him countless times (even when she didn't know him, she still trusted him and saved his life).
That personality alone was enough to melt Subaru's heart. How could Subaru betray a girl like that?
On the other hand, Rem tortured and brutally killed Subaru because she was a little suspicious of him and the excuse for all of that was because she had a dreadful past?
Emilia had a far worse past than her. Emilia never knew her parents and her only family (her aunt) was brutally murdered by the witches and her whole village was destroyed.
But unlike Rem (who was unable to save anyone in her village), Emilia at least tried to use all her powers to fight those witches (even tho she was only a kid that time) and tried her hardest to save her village. Everyone hated Emilia because she looked like a witch while no one hated Rem. She was despised and her whole race was frozen.
But even after that, she still wanted to save her village so she participated to become the queen of Lugunica even tho she knew that all the people hated her due to her looks.
Almost everyone hates her, but she still works hard and tries to save any person who is in trouble. She can never ignore someone who needs help even if that person hates her.
That fact alone makes Emilia far superior than any person. That is the reason why she is the Ideal girl!
Even after Subaru embarrassed Emilia in front of everyone, she still forced him to heal his injuries in Crusch's mansion because deep inside she still cared about him.
Rem on the other hand loved Subaru because he saved her. She also saved Subaru countless times, but if it weren't for Emilia telling Rem that "Subaru is a good person, Rem", Rem would have kept on killing Subaru again and again the next day.
Rem murdered Subaru two times, but Emilia always cared about him. When Subaru was killed by Rem, he wanted to gain her trust so he worked very hard even though he became sick afterwards. He was broken from inside. He wanted to cry but he couldn't. He couldn't even tell anyone about his problems. No one cared about him since he tried to hide all his misery by putting a pathetic smile on his face so as to win Rem's trust. Even Rem didn't care about him at all. But Emilia saw thru that facade. She forced Subaru to sleep on her lap. She didn't question him or his motives (while Rem killed Subaru for that). She just provided him what he needed the most and after all the love that Emilia showered, Subaru then started to cry.
Rem also manipulated Subaru into falling for her by faking her death and even after she knew that Subaru loved Emilia, she still proposed to him and forced him to accept her.
But Emilia doesn't care about any of that, when Roswaal told Emilia that if Subaru saves Rem from her coma then Subaru might love Rem more then Emilia simply replies that she doesn't care about that and that she will help Subaru achieve his goal even if that means distancing herself from Subaru even tho Emilia also have feelings for Subaru.
That is the kind of girl Emilia is, so comparing her with someone like Rem is like comparing infinity with zero.
I'll say it again, Emilia is the IDEAL girl! You can't find a girl like her in real life!
Emilia is the personification of beauty and elegance. She is not just a mere elf, she is a goddess.
There are no negative flaws whatsoever in her personality! She is the most beautiful being in this whole universe!
