To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Eromanga Sensei. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Masamune's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LOLI. As a consequence people who dislike Eromanga Sensei truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Megumi’s famous quote “I love dicks” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Fushimi Tsukasa’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 |

None. I don't think it depends on IQ if a show is difficult to understand, it depends on whether you pay attention to things or not. |

0 since anime is a leisure activity meant for entertainment for the masses, like normal television shows. If it was too difficult to understand, then the masses would have a headache trying to understand it or would leave the show with confusion and distaste. It is by no means profitable to have anime be suited for the intelligent side of a populace since they are a minority (not to mention they are most likely not spending their time watching anime). However, I do enjoy it when anime hides a deeper meaning or understanding to the plot or characters in which if understood will only enhance a watcher's enjoyment and they would possibly feel a bit of accomplishment and feelings for the show. Everybody and their mother possesses the ability to take a piece of paper and a pencil, put on an anime and take notes of what happens in every episode. They then can analyze what happened and base a theory around what was proposed through the storytelling. You don't need a high IQ to do anything around this hobby. Anybody that tells you otherwise is an idiot. |

I don't think you really need an high IQ to understand an Anime more. I watched a few really complicated Anime. I even thought the Monogatari-Series is really hard to understand sometimes but If you really focuse on the Story... it's possible to understand it. |
