This was intense even if it was brief.
Mordred seemed pissed lol. Looks like Jack the Ripper got an injury. I don't think she's even bothered slightly by it or rather, it even healed. There's also more focus on the Red Faction.
About time Shakespeare showed up. What a guy.
Nice to also see the Black Faction making their move.
You know what I find funny?
After seven episodes, Sieg has more character's development and internal conflicts than all Apocrypha characters together so far.

Because he is the main character?
but It didn't work with Inaho Kaizuka from Aldnoah.Zero. >:p

Big fight next week. Can't wait for that.
I would say because Jeanne is a flag holder and not really supposed to be a fighter. So it's pretty much just for show in the same way that Shielder from FGO gains a additional sword (in her later ascension) on her side but never uses it.
Until last week's episode, this series has been kinda slow for me, but it seems like it's finally starting and we kinda know things about the characters now, wich was my main problema before.
I hope it keeps geting better from now on.
Also a question: Have we been given the name for Roche (Avicebron's Master)? I don't remember
(Sorry for my broken english, it's my first time in a discussion, please be nice ^^)

Aldonoah after its first 4 or 5 episodes stopped working at all

that's kinda funny since he's actually not a very good character in the overall LN compared to many others

yeah hes pretty boring as a character. To be honest, none of the characters really stuck out in terms of character development. Maybe Mordred and her master, but thats about it. Shirou gets some interesting backstory much later in the series, but everyone else is just, lacking in development

Mordred really ? she is one of the most generic characters here lol

It depends, if you always found the lore behind her interresting in other works i suppose you would like almost any scene with her. Doesn't mean that much though especially when she known for her nickname "moedred".
Why must they give Sumanai 2.0 three scenes? all of them are kinda boring, even if it helped his character development a little bit... It would also be better if they just ended the episode with the epic charge of the Black faction...
This continues to show what a lost opportunity apo(and overall fate) is. Go Lion and Moedred should have been the MC and half the cast should have been replaced. If it was battle of wits between Shirou, Lion and the nazimillenia dude it could have been cool. Have the whole story be a chess battle between Nazimillenia dude and Shirou with Go Lion trying to detective his way through this mess for MA. No Sieg MC wank, no Astolfo, no nonsensical harem stuff, no low quality comedy.
Alas, Semiramis, Shirou and Moedred scenes continue to be the saving grace of this awful mess and the only reason to watch this.
Loved it.
For a setup episode, this was everything I wanted as a good adaptation (especially after my disappointment in episode 4).
And the PV for episode 8 is already out and look promising, I hope they'll keep up like this from now on.
I waited so long for that Shirou and Semiramis scene and for once I was not disappointed, yay
As for me, Shakespeare's speach was a pure miss. This character has been on the screen for about 2 minutes so far, that's how deep the script is giving unequal time. Sieg just stayed on the farm for about a day or two. Fran's growling is not sexy at all and what A-1 didn't work at all is the "running" movement, looks too much out of place and not connected to the background. It was with Mordred the previous episode too. Also, what about the rule, that the war should not be seen by any spectator? I think an enormous flying fortress is kinda dubious this way.

It pains me to say you're right
If it were for me I would concentrate the story in Moedred/Lion, Shirou/6 servants(The concept of the red team is really cool, even if his Rider and Archer are not that shinning), Nazimillenia (especially Vlad)
And would disposse of MC Homuncubitch, Black Berserker (Everything about her looks/feels/is wrong), Black Assassin (the same but maybe not that cringy as Bers), Astolfo (Astolfo is not THAT Annoying as a character, but his role in the story being the backup of the MC is what destroys Astolfo), the same with Jeanne.
Love that theme song along with Shakespeare's speech
I reckon the war will still be going on until the second half of the anime, so another 5-6 episode for some peaceful moments.
That was a great build up episode. That moment with Jeanne's "Revelation" about Shirou was awesome. Man, the music in this show has been top-notch so far.
Brilliant build up episode, the music used in this episode was fantastic and got your heart pumping. A bit lower on the budget but that's acceptabel as the next episode should be action packed.
Don't really care for the low rating as I'm enjoying the hell out of this

frenze12 said: Can someone tell me if that horse that lancer of the black rides is part of his summoning or just a random horse from the black faction?
It's a fake horse(a golem horse), most likely made by Avicebron.
No matter how you look at it, i'm surprised that i'm at this point.
I like all servants from Team Black (besides Caster) more than the ones from Team Red (yeah, also Siegfried who died early on i liked more than Mordred with more screentime).
So i'd be pretty upset if Team Black suffers losses in this battle.
Now this looks like a familiar scenery if we look at the first scene of the show and we see Siegfried alive. Take that for what you will but i can see where this is going concerning Sieg.

She starts off as someone who is on their high horse and then becomes a bit more understanding of her master. She laughs at his wish but then overtime realizes how maybe its something that she, in a very loose way mind you, wants too. Of course her wish is still the same from beginning to end, but she slightly becomes a bit more understanding. And like i said earlier, there are a ton of even more generic characters. I mean lets just look at the list. Achilles is Gil beta version with his overly cocky personality. Astolfo and William Shakespeare are comic reliefs. Frankenstein's monster is your typical moe. Caster of Black's master is your clueless kid who has a pure heart (spoiler?). The list goes on. This Fate story is a mixture of generic and fairly predictable characters. From reading all but the final volume due to it still not being translated, I can assure you that of the many characters in the story, Mordred and New Saber of Black are the only characters who slightly develop in time but the change is so minor that its hardly enough to even call it 'development'

I can't tell if Fai hates Type moon works, or just the anime adaptations. I'll admit that Fate Apoc. is not the strongest story in the Fate universe although its idea of 'red team vs blue team', is interesting, plus the introduction of the Ruler class.
As for you, Rider and Archer of Red will have their moments, especially Rider. Ill put this next part that hints at it, in spoilers just to be safe.
To keep it light, Atlanta will eventually witness something that will make her change and transform her, in more ways than one. This is when she will become a lot more aggressive and fight much more brutal. As for Achilles, he and Chiron will be having a lot of fights, and in each of the fights, Achilles will have unique weapons at his disposal, one of which is a cheap 'victory due to plot convenience' weapon, but oh well
I agree that the Homunculi kid is a really dull and boring character and Frankenstein's monster is too moe to be taken serious. Jack the Ripper is actually a bit more interesting than what you see. If you watched the previous episode, then you should have noticed how Jack kept saying words like "Us" or "We" instead of "I' or "me". With that said, theres a kinda clever reason for "Jack" being this cute little girl but explaining it would be a really big spoiler since many things happen during that event.. Astolfo is just, comedy relief. He is really weak as a hero even though he has quite a few weapons at his disposal. Jeanne hardly gets enough screen time but it makes sense since she is a mediator and not a fighter. I do look forward to how they will animate her NP since its a simple but really effective NP

Sieg has figured out what his wish is. He got a farewell gift from the old guy. Jack the Ripper is healed by eating a heart. Shakespeare's appearance was amusing. That is one huge flying fortress. Pretty good buildup for the battle next episode.
Next episode should be good in the action department, as things are heading toward an all-out battle. The setting looks similar to the first scene of episode 1, so I'm guessing we're going to see that.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.
Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.
Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.
This is no a tale about servants,
nor is it a tale of masters,
neither yet a tale of saints.
This is a tale of people fulfilling their wishes (which could also be translated as ''This is a story of humans making wishes).
When a individual has a wish and share with other individuals, and these individuals come to understand this wish and feel strongly motivated and enthusiastic about him to the point of taking him for themself with great pride and are proud of his involvement with him, this wish become the wish of many individuals.
Checkate. We've already got the answer for the Fate/Apocrypha's opening monologue made by Sieg in first episode.
That guy with the funny speech was Shakespeare? I must have missed something.
Seeing Mordred pissed was a bit scary. Well, both factions are making their move and damn, that is a huge flying fortress the red faction has. Sieg also decided on his path as well.
I'm curious to see the full backstory of Kotomine Shirou....Kinda reminds me of regular Shirou's in a weird way
Other than that, I'm glad that Mordred and her master survived (And the paralyzed girl and Black Archer because I like them a lot) and I realy enjoyed the scenes with Sieg and the old man
Next episode is gonna be hype AF and I can't wait to see this big battle unfold
Decent episode as things are finally starting to move on, hopefully in the coming battle we will see some Servants lose as the field is still a bit too big for me.
Notatroller123 said: Actually I was wondering where are the other red factions' masters
It's been made very clear that they've been drugged by Shirou into thinking the war is over and therefore relinquishing their command seals. You might've skipped a couple of after-credit scenes.
As for their actual location, they might be in the Church somewhere, or may have gone back to the MA(this one is unlikely though as it could expose Shirou's plan). Their location was never actually said, iirc.
I dunno about the LN, but the manga does introduce everyone at the start, including all the Servants. The anime seems to stretch the info more.
Yeah, they're all introduced at once near the start of the LN. Roche had a decent chunk of screen time in Episode 1, so I assumed they introduced him during that time as well.
Assassin's Noble Phantasm is the Floating Gates of Babylon, which is simply a flying fortress. That's pretty impressive if you ask me.
All in all, it was a pretty good episode building up to a big fight between both sides for next week. Sieg has now found what path he wants to walk on, partly thanks to the talk he had with the kind old man who let him stay for a little while.
A-1 has done a good job animation wise so far. Hopefully they can deliver some good animation for next week as well. =)
