I had slight hopes it would turn out entertaining as the original LWA OVA which was also funded by a Kickstarter. Supposedly the production team felt as if they would have issues with exerting their creative freedom and the project possibly flopping due to consuming trends, but ironically this turned out worse than the "otaku bait" they were avoiding to make. Iirc a few of the key original producer/creators signed on at the kickstarter bailed out, so that's possibly the telling part for the direction change. Akira mostly for the mish-mash of monstrosity, motorcycle, and telekinesis. But to be honest, I can barely remember the film, and I called it up as a byword for those sci-fi/action sort OVA-era anime those 'western' fans often have a predilection for. |

Romeo x Juliet also randomly popped up in my mind, that felt super fresh back when I watched it during a burnout. It's not healing but it has a very specific relaxing atmosphere with its romance, very comparable to Tsubasa Chronicle I reckon. |
