Tbh this series would've been way more interesting if they made my boy deal with unrequited love. Like, Majime's character development practically halted after this episode, especially so after the time jump between eps 7 & 8
I think Nishioka finally realised that he's a very important part of the Dictionary Editorial Department, that he's not someone expendable and that everyone in the department is really grateful he's there. He's going to give his best. Go, Nishioka!
The highlight of this episode was definitely the romance. I was surprised by her reaction when Majime said love letter. She went all "WHAT?!" I didn't think it was a rejection though, but I was confused.
So it's true. Majime's letter was too difficult to read for most people, but she saw the heart in it. When I heard her say "watashi mo suki desu", I just shivered! What a sweet and lovely moment! It feels a bit rushed, but purely because they didn't show us the interactions that happened in between, because I think this anime does quite a bit of time-skipping. Would've loved to see more, but I'm not complaining right now! Their scene together is just so sweet and genuine that I got goosebumps. Kaguya is so gentle, tender, sweet, kind, and loving. I love her.
This anime is so good! Why don't more people talk about it? It's so underrated! Looking forward to more dictionary-making (something I never thought I'd say) and more interactions between the now-a-couple Majime and Kaguya!
So Majime didn't sleep at all this episode, did he?
Ah, sweet romance <3. I didn't think it was too fast, rather this pace is more realistic than what happens in most anime. People don't usually circle around each other for 3 years in some strange mating dance with endless cultural festivals and fireworks before declaring their feelings.
I love Majime's character. Despite his awkwardness, he is an earnest guy that doesn't come off as being creepy. He's diligent, but caring. I can understand why she likes him.
