Hmm I'm not sure what to think of the final episode. If we get a second season it is fine but if we'll stop here it is stupid as fuck.

Well. Except for that final episode which leaves us at a weird place this was quite enjoyable. I wouldn't mind another season.

My fave action mecha series ended. no more awesome mecha fights. no sequel announcement like Thunderbolt Fantasy, the other awesome action series. I hope Fall season has a good replacement for these two but I doubt it.

I'm actually really disappointed Kennosuke left Yukina behind. The fact we don't know if she finds him leaves me to put this at a 7 instead of an 8 if she had left when Kennosuke did. At least then I'd know they're together.

The ending I had figured out, and that is not a bad thing. Yukina rediscovers what she wants to do with her life, with even more motivations. We get to see everyone's occupation in the near future. The only weird moment was the the revelation of the "Aida Kensuke"-like guy's father.
I read the word "rushed" everywhere but it never felt like they were suddenly running out of time to do what they wanted to do, there was no sudden speed peak, so I don't understand how it can be declared rushed.

Simple, enjoyable, with no obsession of robots fighting (too bad some episodes went 90% mecha action), pretty enough, well-made outside of the 3DCGI fights over 2D backgrounds. On the other hand, it wasn't exceedingly interesting.

6.5/10 A good way to relax in a sci-fi ambiance.

@Luthandorius How can a full-legnth series become boring once reached the mid-series? o_O It is at eps 12-13 that the real ennemy/bigger threat/revelations kick in to raise the interest of the audience back up!

I really hope they will be a second season or a movie, because I need more ! This last episode was amazing, now I consider to up is score >.<.
I was surprise that they didn't choose the easy way to send Yukina with him on the new planet, but instead made a beautiful farewell scene.

totally not my favorite anime. Totally not among the best animes of the year/season.
BUT it was really enjoyable. And with this setting there could be a really nice second season. But I highly doubt it. As long as they dont get proper writing for the back story.

I still want the second season ^^

This anime is a nice reminder of what older animes where. rather long (26eps +) original story and not just a teaser. Well this certainly is quite open ended. Still the ending was nice and you could always say everything is fine.

(I honestly doubt the second season would be any good if the same staff works on it.)

pseudo bittersweet, bit surprised it is a nice wrap up. But still like an ova/movie of Zeru's home planet & Yukina's space travel.
Everyone's +5yrs get this mature air, except Yukina looks samey lol.
Big surprise suicidal cameraboy is crazy Doc's son lol.
Overall it's fun & nothing too drama tense. Has a challenging combo comedy sol + mech action + drama sometimes don't mesh well. Some episodes were quite funny, others had good action but pacing goes wonky.
In action choreography & cg mechs paworks is quite rough, but they'll definitely improve like Sanzigen & Orange did.

Well, how is that the last episode -at least for me- feels way better than 80% of the show? Especially the time skip!

Yeah, super open ending, I suppose the series was popular enough in Japan to make possible the making of an open ending just in case a second season is doable.

5 years...
Yeah, 5 years in which Yukina never knew someone else... you know, anime logic... she has to stay pure for Ouma!! xD

Well, the series was not that bad so, if there's a second season I know I'll watch it. Maybe P.A.Works will correct their mistakes and it will be better.

finally it's over. a mediocre romance force into a mecha show with the a promising setting only to be shit by crappy execution. Sorry PA.works for me you still have no identity and obviously the mecha genre is not your call.

dumb show with dumb people; both the main cast and the background, was painful to watch. I give it a generous 6 because of the art and the openings.

The last two episodes were better than I expected as they touched on human nature a bit, overall though. one of the more poorly written anime I've watched in awhile. Settled on 3/10 in the end.

Started off great, then pretty much meandered in search of an identity for the next 20 or so episodes, then had a fantastic final two episodes. In the end I place higher value on a show that can provide a satisfying ending and in that regard Kuromukuro delivered.

I'd give a tentative 7/10 just for the solid ending that is sorely lacking in anime these days. Though cannot in good conscience recommend this at all for anyone to slog through just to reach the last couple of episodes.

I strangely found myself really enjoying this from the very beginning. Perhaps the concept itself wasn't the most original but it certainly felt original.
I liked the relationship between Yukina and Kennosuke, the mecha weren't the best design, but the pilot 'armor' [it was literally armor, lol] was very cool. The music fit each scene rather nice, the supporting cast was solid enough [could've been way better but they didn't feel completely flat and shallow either, something that has been annoying me in a lot of current anime], the ending was quite frustrating because OF COURSE Yukina couldn't go with him right away, OF COURSE we needed extra drama, it wouldn't be P.A. Works otherwise. I still really cried at certain scenes though and I still became connected to the characters, I was sad to see it end.

Now... where is my movie w/ Efidorg space battles and a Ken/Yukina reunion?

Loved this show and thought it was well done in that it didn't fall into the trope of monster of the week kind of deal and focused on the small stuff which some people seemed to hate.

Everything as far as mysteries wrapped up well, but they never really explain how Yuki has the *same DNA* as Yukina/Yukina's mom who I think in one of the earlier episodes of the second half were suggested to be ancestors of Yuki which isn't possible because Yuki's fiance was killed and she herself never had kids. The earth being seeded doesn't actually explain it either.

The first half was really enjoyable despite the underdeveloped characters, however the last 7 episodes have been pretty meh. A lot of rushed forced ship by the end of the series, a lot of stuff happening without much being expanded, and characters don't feel like they have much of a.. character anymore, they just go along with whatever the plot demands.

I have had my suspicion that the second half wouldn't be as good as the first half, it's easy to start off really good but then fail to follow up. That said, Mozumi is the MVP of the series.

Just finished it on Netflix. What an interesting show. It wasn't groundbreaking by any means, but I really enjoyed it. Liked the mixture of genres and tones (though it could get bloated at times), characters were alright, and plot was pretty good. This show was like a fusion of Gargantina and Aldnoah. I really want to see more, I loved the ending! Ken and Yukina gotta reunite!

Also Zell became of one my favs, I loved that guy. And I'll also say I hated the boy trio, I honestly wished they got killed off, I found them so annoying!

Anyways, god willing we'all get some type of sequel.

Overall 7/10

The show has interesting plot and good amount of mecha action. The characters were okay but some were kind of irrelevant like Muetta. I didn't really like the ending cause it felt inconclusive and somewhat rushed. Honestly I don't think this will get a sequel since most of the characters have grown up or moved on and is kind of implied that things are getting resolved. But it would be nice if it gets a sequel.

I was interested to see how the last episode would play out. considering they were just finishing the final battle and recooping in episdoe 25. I really enjoyed this Anime, it was a fun watch and id recommend it. BUT! am i the only one super sad about the ending? I can understand a time skip of 5 or so years, allowing the United nations group to rebuild the Elfdorn (sp) ship. But when i saw Yukina 5 years later, as well as some other cast members, it just got me excited, i want more! for five years they must have been training and building the ship, while Ken is fighting with the Ogres. It just left so much to desire. Id be super happy with another season, maybe something with less fillers like a 12 episode run, or even a movie. Its a great story and I really didnt get the closure i was expecting when Yukina and the gang launch to meet and fight with the rest of them. I feel like the story can really take off now, new ships, new mechs, new species and a better understanding of the Elfdorn (sp) control and the manipulation they use in the universe. But i digress, like i said it was a great show, since there is little chance this show will get a new season i wanted a little more info on how kennoske was doing and i would really like to see when Yukina and Kennoske reunite. Ahh i really hope they dont just give up on this anime.

In the end I'm left with some very mixed feelings. As the underdog show of the season, production wise things seemed off at some points, it had some glaring flaws too (like the undressing with handcuffs), and then there was the weird Netflix deal halfway through the series. I never expected it to do any better than a 7/10 at best.

However, it was genuinely exciting, consistently so, the mecha swordplay was at time weirdly historically correct, and some of the plot twists really did surprise me. I considered significantly increasing my rating.

Finally, we had episodes 25 and 26, which were completely unnecessary, and not at all fitting with the atmosphere of the rest of the show.

LMAO this guys father is this werido doc. That makes alot of sense. so yukina is going to space to find ken is where season 2 will pick up if there even is one. Im guessing all the side characters would become pointless then so that makes the time on them kinda pointless as well. still an ok series.

I loved the show and the last episode except for the end. I know others say it was a nice wrap up but it was too wide open for me to be called an end.

I want to know if Yukina and Kennosuke find each other and a better explanation on how exactly they are going to get to Sagittarii that is 250 some light years away.

Where they able to create a device that would create a portal or are they going to be just take 250 years to get there? Maybe I missed something or it I am not getting the implication.

Would it have really hurt to extend the ending a bit longer and answer the questions if there will not be another season? Crappy way to end a great show.

I do not believe it makes it pointless to have the side characters but helps creates a history. It could also be used as a way to explain future actions a character takes based the impact the other character had on them.

It got better in the end and Yukino wasn't so whiny. In this last episode she decided to pull her act together? Couldn't she have done it at the middle of the series at least?

Some characters were pure annoying (camera guy), he got just worse during the series. Seeing the characters grown up was a nice touch. The open ending worked fine for this series.

The animation was ok for the series, at least the natural setting.
As a mecha show it doesn't really work. There are some fights, but too much time is wasted on slice of life. school festival etc. I guess the only reason they had these episodes was to get the student to think about something else besides death and destruction.

The villains in the series was just pure boring.

I liked how this show started off, especially the art. That was a 10.
But around halfway, it started to feel kinda weird. Personally, I found the balance of seriousness and non-sensical slice of life kinda off. They were doing random festival stuff at school or were happily eating lunch at times when the world was being threatened...I often couldn't comprehend why they were acting like all of that didn't matter. It took away from the seriousness of the situation. Also, I wasn't too fond of the music. I felt like many scenes didn't have the emotional impact they were aiming at because the music was mediocre or missing.
I also wanted to ship Ouma and Yukina, but their development felt strange at times... it somehow didn't touch me like other anime managed to touch me. I was missing some consistent development there...

I rate this 7/10.

I feel as though this series weakened the brand for PA Works. Series with these types of ambiguous endings, will never sit well with me. Especially when they don't even have any (hints at) sequels/OVA, much less, any light novels or manga that the audience can continue from. Animes mostly derive from manga, light novel, and web comics. (Correct me if I'm wrong) So to produce a show out of scratch is a risky move. What makes it worst is that they ended it on some sort of cliff hanger. What the heck?
I only want to watch animes that gives the audience a sense of closure. I finished a game recently and there were 2 options to end the game. 1, end the entire apocalypse with a nuke. 2, don't do shit and end up becoming apart of the apocalypse. Obviously, I chose to nuke the shit out of the apocalypse because what can be a better ending than that for the game? I've had my fun, so might as well put a close to it and end it all right?
That's what this anime lacks. There is no sense of closure and with no hint of any sequels (manga or anime), it makes me the ever more furious. Are they going to be forever lost looking for him? How do they know that he isn't dead already? Will they ever find eachother? Animes that leaves me questioning its ending, makes me sick. 12 episode animes with those types of endings, I can let slide, but half a years worth of waiting in eager just to never know what happens next? Disappointing indeed.
A simple sign that shows his existence at the end even if its for a few seconds, would change the entire series for the better. And if you make a girl cry because you leave her even she loves you that much, then you better own up to it. That is the true samurai way.

I finally got around to watching the show.

That's the ending? Really? What an absurd end to the show. No sense of closure at all.

The romance between the two main characters was contrived from the moment they tried to make it a thing, the supporting characters were all pretty lame and unimportant, the show had serious pacing issues and wasted time on typical anime tropes that didn't fit at all in the story, and the mysteries were all resolved with blatant exposition.

Pretty disappointing show, despite the promise it held.
Pie is delicious.

Dude that timeskip was awesome and all cause even the ferrett has a family now but goddamn it can't end like this. Think about it like this, a show where the story is about the protagonist's dream of baking the best cake in the whole world, so all his adventures are about gathering ingredients and learning the best techniques of baking, and then fast forward 5 years later, he's learned everything he needs to learn and then gathered all the ingredients and equipment he needs and then some. And the show ends while he's baking the cake. So my question is, where is the fucking cake? You can't end this shit without showing the final product :/
