These characters are just so great! Subaru's heartwarming speech to Rem was so amazing where did he pull out all this wisdom?, now I'm sure Rem would become much closer and more friendly towards Subaru. I was so happy seeing Rem smile like that with tears. Truly feels like all her emotional scars are gone.

Subaru is finally going to have his date with Emilia-tan! Of course Emilia-tan happily accepts. :D I can't wait to see the next episode now. *^*

I really love this series. Every episode has been so impressive thus far! :)

Rem simply awesome this episode. Wondering what the hell Roswell meant with "killing the dragon".
You're gonna carry that weight.

If only, I WILL say that at least in manga her and Subaru have a handful of cute moments coming up :) . Can't say same for Emilia I'm afraid :/

Stop calling yourself a retard. You'd be much less competent in his place. Probabilities tell.

Now if he were more reasonable, he'd become some merchant assistant and there'd be no story to be told. It'd be too ordinary. (I should copy this in my mind to paste in the future.)

It's like some kind of fusion dance between Zero no tsukaima and Rakudai Kishi no cavalry (or w/e clone of IS you want to quote). Liked it casually buy I guess it wouldn't be good if you analyzed it. You'd probably destroy it.

Ah, I haven't looked it up but if I were to guess a summary. MC viewed as a 'zero' with supposedly no magical talent in a world with 'insert name for special magic users' goes to academy where he meets a bunch of quirky girls and proves himself to those who look down upon him by showing his hidden talent, would I be far off the mark?

Sorry if I am completely wrong. But the amount of animes I've seen over the past year with descriptions similar to that are too many to count, I'm telling you.

And yeah, you somehow guessed, I'm a stickler for quality. I don't mind casual watching like the recent 'Tanaka is always listless' or 'Nichijou' or pure fun like 'MM!' as long as it isn't cliche drivel. Which is why with recent releases I both love Re: Zero Kara and despise Big Order :)

The only thing is that it breaks the weak/nobody guy cliché but explaining why is a spoiler.

It's literally this episode's title

And that's all .. lol ok I guess... I thought that it was some kind of end, something like end of route in VN (note that I know that this is not adaptation of visual novel)

Sorry if someone already replied to you but I think perhaps the reasoning is two fold.

1. Rem, we finally see the real her and her true bond with Subaru begin.

2. Re-m, notice how the name is separated into the Re- which is exclusive to Rem which is in a different colour now because that difference between her and Ram is shown in it's fullest? This is more of a guess but I like it.

Ah, what you said interested me so I looked it up. Without meaning to offend, this was the kind of thing I was thinking of, with the exclusion of the 'only male in school full of females' cliche I forgot to mention and the for some reason consistent inclusion of a red-pink haired girl with twin tails and a generic looking MC wielding a sword.

I'm being rude I know but the MC sword carrier with a bunch of girls in white uniforms in that stance in the poster for it is reminiscent of a hundred other anime like it.

If there's anything to be learnt in watching anime, though, I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Like, I am literally judging it by its cover just then... But yeah you think it's worth a watch personally?

1. didn't The loli describe the Jealous witch as having white hair? The ears may have been concealed by the hair but the hair kinda gives it a way somewhat, especially when someone calls her by a name of infamy. Perhaps the witch is long dead or something (kinda forgot what the witch's current situation was about) So it may be a common insult, like calling a dark person a monkey despite the vast differences between a human and a monkey.

No the legend specifically states Satella was a half-elf with sliver hair. Not just sliver hair. Nobody is gonna care if just one of those traits. It's combination of them that would alarm people. This only thing people know about her.

2. I'll have to check my book.

I'm not entirely sure if the anime mentions that, but it is in the manga adaptation. Look at the chapter when the dinner with Roswaal happens. And to note Ram was supposed to be guarding her during the outing.

3. Huh?

I'm saying that consequence he was embarrassed in public because Emilia look like normal human girl without her ears.

4. You stated discrimination as if being separate from "looking like Satella." I'm assuming the former is in regards to her ears and the later is with regards to other traits (her hair and/or eyes). The townspeople seemed to at least be familiar with the legend of the Jealous witch since they took it as Subaru was insulting her. But then again there have been works that have treated very recent subjects as legendary or mythical, despite the time in between. I will say they townpeople must've had at least average vision someone being called out in the middle of the crowd I think would kinda encourage me to focus in on that person. But meh, I thought it would've been a way of showing Subaru and us a bit of her struggles first hand if the crowd had reacted a bit more against her. But then again that may be spoiling other things regarding her similarities towards the witch in the future.

Again the legends states Satella's description was a half with sliver hair. Not just one or the other. She must have both hose traits.

Case point Felt didn't so much as bat an eyelash when she first saw Emilia. It was only until Emilia herself revealed to fact to her she was half which when Felt put two-to-two together. Emilia of curse denied any connection and stated she just resembled her.

In the next arc when the story you are going to how the country at large reacts to her when she revealed those two traits. Saying anymore than this is a spoiler.

The next arc is all about Subarus development huh. I already like his character so far but seeing him change will probably make me like him even more( I think @Fappa even said something about how everyone'll view Subaru differently after this arc). We only just finished arc 2, so I'm glad that author isn't trying to shove Emilia development with the twins development at the same time. She already probably has a couple of volumes dedicated to her issues,so I'm assuming the author just doesn't introduce them early on. This is a long ass story after all. This is almost guaranteed to have a second season with the hype this is getting as well as all the extra content still available.

I think they made Rem seem so weak. A random boy she knew for a few days makes her feel better than her sister has been trying to do for her entire life? Anyone with a twin or close sibling knows that your twin makes you feel better than ANYONE can. Either that or Ram was really ignorant of Rem's pain. At least she feels better now. Makes the 'future spoilers' even harder to bear though.

Good god. More people who finally gets how story development works. If show gets 2nd season or anyone reads beyond what the anime will look really silly for complaining about such an obvious traditional narrative structure. Almost freaking character get delved into one point as stated by me, @Fappa and others who know the source.

So this manufactured argument/controversy is soo dumb.

Hnnng. I love this show so much.
I don't know how Subaru is able to maintain such a positive upbeat attitude, but I respect him for that.

And Roswaal. Not sure what his story is, but I hope he doesn't end up being secretly evil.

That is because Rem is emotionally weak despite her appearance. A strong person would not be living her life entirely for someone else mainly out of guilt. It's like living your life solely for revenge once that is gone you have nothing left. Subaru gave her a new perspective showed her she never really understood how sister felt and was only projecting her feeling on to her. Her guilt blinded and Suabru forced her to face the truth and start living for herself.

But I don't blame her for developing an inferior complex with flashback showed.

I'm basically convinced at this point that Emilia IS the jealous witch, or at least, is occupying her body. Aside from the continued references, there are a couple lines from Beatrice that really stand out to me.

"It's said that her body never withers, weakens, or dies. It's said that, though she was sealed by the powers of a dragon, a hero, and a sage, they were unable to destroy her flesh"

This leads me to believe that Emilia is the flesh that Beatrice references, and that some sort of end-game for the series will involve the seal on Satella being lifted and re-taking her former body, causing Subaru and co to try and save her. After all, didn't they mention that the Dragon's contract with the royal family was coming to an end? With the dragon out of the picture/being killed I could see that causing the seal to disappear. Hell, maybe the return by death mechanic is just a method of protecting her body until it can be retaken.

I just feel like Emilia is too nice of a character for nothing bad to happen involving her.

Except that contradictory to what he's been doing so far. He's impulsive at times which get's him in trouble but he thinks plenty about his actions. That how he got out of this arc and how he will get of next one. You just exaggerating his flaws because he not the perfect hero. This episode!!! All the times he died and all the suffering was totally worth it after watching Rem's smile! <3
This flashback was amazing, i can't believe how different they were when they were kids.

I can't believe how much Rem changed since Subaru died and started interacting with her more, Ram didn't change much but Rem...damn, she became the complete opposite of what everyone was expecting. I can't believe she actually changed so much since when we first saw her, she is so cute omg :3

So their village was attacked by someone, and my thought is that Roswaal is the one who is behind all of that, i started thinking about this after the last moment when Ram was on his legs and said "I belong to you..." or something like that and i immediately thought that maybe he is the one behind their village destruction. I might be wrong or maybe not xD We will certainly know it after they will explain Roswaal moments with Ram.

I'm so happy that this is a 25eps anime, it's so great.

And let's not forget about the best moment :3

I would doubt this theory since she apparently was killed and is listed as such in the synopsis but then again Subaru didn't see the aftereffects of such. She may have come back to life if Subaru hadn't already been killed off. Perhaps if she is the witch maybe Roswaals backing of her may come into the fact her innate power can defeat the dragon. I'm assuming out of the trio the Hero and sage are long dead, leaving only the dragon, which Emilia's alter ego is capable of taking out 1v1.

He did that to save the twins so it couldn't be helped. It doesn't make him dumb at all. He's working with limited resources he's got unless you think you could better in that position without sacrificing anything.

Have you watched Boku no Hero Academia? the guy trained hard to learn his power, not abusing it just because he could.

There are so many options to choose, and he took the dumbest ones, instead of "omg, I love you, stop" he should think what to say before he opens his mouth and have the dumbest stuff coming out of it.

he should solve PROBLEMS not to create more of them.

took him 5 deaths to solve this one and even more for the next arcs

When did Subaru use his gate multiple times? He attempted when he first learned about it and failed and then used it as a last resort. That isn't abuse, thats using what you have at your disposal in case of an emergency. im sure hell learn a lot this arc considering it focuses on his development if it angers you that much.

He got his ass ripped by Rem even when he played the house guest role and took off. Even if he had went to a completely new town Rem would've chopped him before anything.

He started out as a moron, processed as a moron.

When he first enter the new world, he never bothered learning anything from it, he didn't learn if he is different than his old world, he never bothered with anything other than, "OH, If i do this, I die... I should just do something else", He should have considered all his options and pick the best route, but instead he just went with the easiest way and tried to enjoy himself instead of trying to figure out why he was teleported to the new world.

He never bothered with anything other than what he wants and didn't bother with what could/will happen.

MC is selfish af.

Why would he not do whatever he wants to in a fantasy world?

Have you watched Boku no Hero Academia? the guy trained hard to learn his power, not abusing it just because he could.

What the hell are you talking about? Deku abusing his power plenty for same reasons. Why do think he get hurt all the time? They aren't doing it for sake of it. Which part of that don't you understand? Furthermore he only train his body to use his power the power itself. Subaru has had kind of time since he's just learned magic.

There are so many options to choose, and he took the dumbest ones, instead of "omg, I love you, stop" he should think what to say before he opens his mouth and have the dumbest stuff coming out of it.

The only thing dumb here is this post. I can't make sense of what you are saying nor pointed out these many options. You're whining for sake of it.

he should solve PROBLEMS not to create more of them.

But HE JUST DID. Besides that is not how life works unless you're some spoiled brat. Not everything works out in your favor.

took him 5 deaths to solve this one and even more for the next arcs

Correction, It took 4.

And so what? What in the world did think a story based on the MC's power that activities upon death he would be about? The whole he use loops to his advantage to solve his increasingly complex situations.

You called him retarded, but don't seem to get that basic fact nor that number times he dies isn't important as much of circumstances and what he learns.

Honestly, that guy doesn't even know he's saying. He's just twisting everything, pulling up examples that make no sense and not backing anything up. It's just shitposting at this point.

Except that contradictory to what he's been doing so far. He's impulsive at times which get's him in trouble but he thinks plenty about his acions. That how he got out of this arc and how he will get of next one. You just exaggerating his flaws because he not the perfect hero. I'm not reading this story for that kind of character, I'm in for someone who has flaws, but strives to make himself a better person.

just watched no game no life before this. nuff' said.

Hahahahahahah... That show where the protagonist appealed to a Queen's human chess piece, and succeeded? The world he was in was a game's. It was chiché. Proven by how the protagonist succeeded so well. This one is medieval, but with magic. It's realistic. People still struggle. The protagonist in that one would have to fight in this one. And he'd die. Things wouldn't be solved by gambling alone. So stop comparing. He'd lose here.

Yes he's naive. It was adressed already. He treated a real world like a game's. Even said that he'd been brought there by some 'kawaii girl'. He tried casting an ability by extending his hand and shouting... Then felt embarrassed. It isn't easy to accept that a world you see in a game is actually a reality. Because that's not possible.

Re:Zero feels more like a deconstruction but people keep blaming it for the clichés it tries to point its finger at. I'll never understand them...

Did REM just steal the show as best girl? I am pretty sure she has became the BEST Girl on this show just saying. I didn't really care for Rem's character until this week when she showed her true self. Pretty sure Rem has fallen for Subaru as well. Roswal destroyed that dog and nailed the Emilia impression lol

I heard somewhere there was an alternate ending to the Light Novels this show's based off, taking place somewhere next arc, where Subaru and Rem run away together and live happily ever after...

If a Season 2 doesn't happen, please give us this!!!
