meh. 6/10

shame this isnt continuing, it has so much potential, especially with Stella. she is definitely a waifu material, tho i wouldnt mind if this show was a bit more ecchi. ill probably change the score to something better if more seasons are released cuz i really dislike unfinished things.

when MC father got a phone call from Stella's country, did i get it right they told him to back off with hes plotting? i ask cause what they said was so vague almost like listening to some1 who speaks in riddles or how to say it

that would mean Stella's family actually supports their engagement

that public confession, that just was a cherry on the cake :D

8/10

Loved this anime, the story was good and the fights + the music were epic, and romance that actually goes somewhere , 10/10 season 2 is highly unlikely but it would be great if they made one , want to see the seven stars festival :(

Love this anime. I really did enjoy Ikki & Stella and I do want a season 2 but the chances are slim. I want to see the Seven Stars Festival arc & the Vermillion Empire arc but this just might be another great anime that gets forgotten along with it's fans

I was quited turned off by the harem vibes this anime gave off in the first few episodes and by the blatant fan service with which it started... I had initially thought that it was going to be your run the mill harem shit that comes out every season.

Boiii, how wrong I was!

I've never been more glad than today for managing to bear with my unpleasant first impression and continue to watch it... this is one of the best series I've watched in a very long while.

The second half of the anime was especially good. And this last episode was literally the cherry on top of the chocolate cake.

Brilliant

In just 12 episode, the way I look at this show has changed. From some cliche typical magical, high-school to a unique show with those specific genres.

Ikki has redeemed himself by showing his true power, that he's capable and worthy to fight onwards. Eat that shit, stupid father of Ikki! A talent is not always everything! Those few seconds of the action scene is enough to show the intensity of this epic duel!

This is all followed by Stella air-roasting that moldy, fat lump of flesh (So satisfying!!!) Then Ikki PROUDLY proposes and kiss publicly with Stella. Yeah, eat this again all of those students who've talked behind their backs!

Then finally, a call from the Vermillion family telling Ikki's stupid father to let their children decide their life, fucking eat that shit! Ikki X Stella has officially and publicly sailed. After like weeks of being held in an empty prison for over-exaggerated information which is mostly false, hopefully from now on, Ikki can do whatever the fuck he wants with Stella without ADULTS selfishness interrupting their relationship.

This show REALLY NEED A SECOND SEASON!!! I want to see how the 7 stars sword art festival goes on!

Yeah. Too bad that won't happen. You are better off reading the LNs. Volumes 1-8 are on Baka-Tsuki. (The anime covers volumes 1-3.)

The fight was quite cool, i enjoy them when they finish instantaneously but the proposal at the end was meh.

Didn't really enjoy the show, just basically a sword fighting tournament with no merit from start to finish, romance didn't really interest me as well and the final plot of the scandal just pissed me off, what the hell do you expect when you have two teenagers living in the same room. 5.

so effing beautiful, the ost, the art direction, the emotion..

There were quite a few cheesy cringy scenes that I didn't like very much, especially girls crying for help in the Ayase arc, but ever since the final fight of the arc with Kuraodo, the show's been on crack, it was fantastic. The Ikki vs Kuraodo, Shizuku vs Toudou, Ikki vs Toudou fight have been excellent, far more than what I expected from a series like this to begin with.

The OST really did make it so much better, emotions were just pouring out. The OST "Identity" is effing beautiful, really resonated with my soul and just make me feel so much for the characters. Really genuinely rooted for Ikki during his struggle. That's not even the only good OST in the series. Gawd damn would've been so sweet if this was 2 cour and included the seven swords competition.

Usually you'd hate fanservices that's just annoying, but it's sexy asf in this show, especially when it's actually meaningful interaction between a couple who loves each other. It's not just there to show nudity. Not a fan of how the relationship came to be, felt a little shallow but it's been since developed so it's okay.

Still not giving up on a second season yet. The manga's been cancelled unfortunately, without adapting much from the LN.

... I finished this when it originally finished, but I just need to rant to the abyss a few years later.
I didn’t mind the final clash between Ikki and Toka, but I feel like Toka got cheated pretty hard. I personally liked the “One Strike” aspect, but the way it ended just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Toka, who is both talented and hardworking, known to be exceptionally strong, has two years on Ikki, and is very specialized in close-ranged combat, got taken down by Ikki after he’s been malnourished and exhausted to the point of collapsing, and loses her final chance to fight in the festival. I don’t think that I would have been satisfied with any ending(other than saving their fight for the festival), but the way she gets beaten just makes me feel like she’s a character who exist solely to show how determined and badass the MC is, which is a bit annoying since I really liked her(from what little was shown of her). Add that she would probably be able to beat any of the other 5 that made the team in a duel to that, and I just feel disappointed that she was shafted like that.
I will be reading the manga(and possibly the LN) to see is she plays any notable role after this, but I feel like after losing to Ikki, then people like Stella are going to have to steadily surpass her in order to keep up with Ikki’s continuous growth, leading to her being the “former” strongest at the academy meaning less and less as Ikki’s current opponents make her seem weaker and weaker by comparison.
If you managed to read that, good on you. I did enjoy the series overall, and while I can just about guess what I’ll find in the source material from the anime, I hope that there will be a few curve balls to keep it a bit more interesting than a lot of other similar products.

I agree that the final duel is sub-optimally handled and makes Ikki way too OP. It would have been more satisfying and more convincing if he had fought Toudou in proper condition.

As far as I remember, Toudou Touka does reappear and play a role in the following LN volumes. Not a great role, though.

I don't get how this anime is so popular, I found it to be toxic garbage. A Gary Stu who is supposively an incredibly weak fighter easily beats most opponents and when the fight is a little tougher asspulls victories by anime logic of sudden increases of fighting ability. A female lead who at first I thought might enjoy, she and the MC actually get together by the fourth episode, none of that refusing to move the relationship along like in most anime of this type but of course she is so darn inconsistent it is impossible to really like her. I was rolling my eyes when she thinks a kiss could have got her pregnant and then 5 minutes later asks the dude to screw her. Is she innocent or not? She has never had a cold before? I am to take this seriously?

Students hate him and then a few minutes later cheer for him, gossip about him and Stella (a boy and a girl sharing a room what do they or the school expect) and then a few minutes later don't. Psycho students of course, a girl trying to become like her father but of course needs the MC to fight for her since she can't do it herself. These subplots of course have nothing to do with overall plot just time wasting.

How does the student council president get any thrill from that last fight knowing it was fixed, that her opponent wouldn't be in top condition? She should be insulted but of course in anime logic its just excitement of "strong opponent". Who is tired. From being kidnapped by those who want to ruin him. Whatevs.

Even without all the problems of which I rambled off just a few this show is so darn generic that its nothing special. Only thing of note was the confessions early on which hardly is glue to hold this crapfest togehter. Especially as the characters seem to not have a lot of followthrough. Was the marriage proposal a misunderstanding? Naturally right? Pah.

Probably the best thing about this series is that we don't have the typical fumbling idiot MC who gets shy every time he even touches his girlfriend. A confession comes early on and a relationship is sustained. That's actually pretty rare in this kind of shounen setup.

Yep. I'm pretty satisfied with this ending. People might call the final fight anticlimactic but it was a well-executed one and I wouldn't have it any other way. It would have been way more unsatisfying if the fight was longer since he was in a bad shape so ending it all in one single strike was a logical choice. Unlike with Todo's match with Shizuku, the latter was a long-range fighter so Todo had to keep closing the gap between them while Shizuku tries to maintain her distance. In this case, it's a full on sword fight so they put everything in one slash. Todo's Raikiri has been described as a one-shot technique as long as you enter within her range while Ikki put everything in Itto Rasetsu as evidenced through all the bleeding in his body. Once Ikki enters Todo's range, she unleashes Raikiri and Ikki attempts to overpower it through surpassing his limits. Is it cliche? Yes but it's justified. Pretty good fight, I must say.

To get this out of the way, I'm well aware at how generic the plot is. It's really nothing to brag about as it's entirely just a tournament in the school and with that talk about about the Seven Stars Tournament, it looks like it won't change anytime soon in the source material. I think I just appreciate the execution of the tournament concept since every fight highlighted in the show provided some good development for the characters and we had amazing fights like Shizuku vs Todo. While the general plot isn't that amazing, I appreciate the other things that come with it such as Ikki rebelling the system and a powerful person abusing his power to preserve his ideal hierarchy. We haven't seen much from Ikki's father but he does interest me. Now, the other villains aren't really anything special either since they were just tools to foil Ikki. The real deal here is Itsuki. Since this isn't a complete adaptation, I'm gonna give them the benefit of doubt in that department.

One of the enjoyable things in this anime is probably the romance since it developed pretty early surprisingly and they kept it relevant throughout the whole run. Surprisingly, this didn't turn out into a harem either. I'm not sure if that's something to praise the show for lmao but I gotta give them credit for sticking with the main couple. Despite some girls making advances, Ikki was pretty firm on Stella which was nice since he knew what he wanted.

The characters are great. First we have Ikki which many people would consider as too much of a goody two shoes. I disagree. Towards the end, it was evident that there was a thin line between his longing for approval and his desire to uplift others. He lived his life the way he did because he believed that he might inspire others who have been feeling weak like him but in reality, he was actually unconsciously seeking his father's approval. I thought it was a good way to change things up. After realizing the truth from his father, he had pondered whether his way of living has been for naught. He had worked this hard for someone's recognition only for him to realize that they didn't care at all and then he found another reason to keep walking the path he's in because of the promise he made with Stella. The OST was also nice and complemented the scenes well.

Stella is a tsundere but she's more assertive than usual since she actually takes the initiative in their relationship. From what I see, her tsun moments usually come out when there are other people but when she's alone with Ikki, she's more loving and caring. She has been progressively getting honest with her feelings throughout the show and it was nice seeing them just be a lovely couple.

I didn't really like the incest so I'm glad the story never really acted on it which I think complements Shizuku's character more as someone who supports her brother's happiness.

Alice was a nice supporting character and all with heartwarming scenes and giving good advice.

Anyway, the show isn't perfect but I did definitely enjoy it a lot so I'll give this a 7.

Damn, I shed a tear, especially when Ikki was about to collapse before he even reached the school... That finale was amazing, why didn't I watch this anime earlier. I have no words, silver nexus did a good job in this. One thing I wish was that for their budget to have been even higher. The fight with Touka was nothing short of awesome too.

With all of that said, that proposal at the end was the best scene here! Even the Emperor of the Vermillion Empire was caught by surprise. I hope that from now on they leave the two lovebirds alone, especially that sorry excuse of a father and that oily fat bastard.

Anyway, 9/10. A bit of an unpopular opinion here. Would recommend.

I would want a Season 2 but it's been almost 5 years now and no word from the committee has been said about that, so yeah, I'm a bit sad that it's really over now. But all's good. I had a fun watch and enjoyed it so much!

Alot of people are underrated this anime..
They forgot that they enjoyed the anime very much..

I can give this anime "9" if they had more stories and more ecchies stuff like High School DxD..

The heroic male MC really inspired me..
He start from the bottom, struggling.. Get in love with someone..

IK it just the basic feeling of romance-action anime, but this anime had a lesson not to give up on your dreams..
The brighter someone is the more effort someone to get their dreams..

Nothing to really praise this adaption for, but nothing I can find that I really dislike about it either. Only nitpick is it felt a bit too rushed; haven’t read the light novels though so maybe the pacing was the same there. However at the end of the day this show did me a solid, nothing special here but I did enjoy it. Will continue the story when I feel like it, but I’m just glad for now that this wasn’t a waste of time for me. Ultimately we have pretty basic characters, but at the same time I didn’t find them dumb or annoying, and that’s a huge plus for me. 7/10

Good episode, I really liked the way they show Ikki's inner fight with himself in the beginning. The fight with Touka was just as I expected it to be... But they could have at least shown the shot of an actual strike, for epic and all.

I've read the manga before watching the adaptation, so watching these series was... Not as exciting but I've gotta praise Silver Link for not failing. Some moments could be done better than they are now but I can close my eyes on that.

Nothing too extraordinary or mind-blowing, but not too bad at the same time. Just another "tournament-shounen-ecchi-romance" kind of anime.

In my opinion, one of the most underrated masterpieces...

I've revatched Rakudai kishi no cavalry for the second time, and it left me with a lump in the throat.
Well done, very nice job.

About the whole series, there is one season, 12 episodes unfortunatley,
nice storyline, nice character development, and nice animation!!!
I really enjoyed it for the second time, for me in top 3 anime i watched.

So, i just wanna discuss about storyline and whole anime too.

I am kinda sad to see Ikki suffer that much, but he overcame as the best one. I like the whole storyline because Ikki suffered that much, he stayed strong mentally and i really like that. He haven't got love from his father nor his mother, and again managed to be a great person with awesome personality. He was dumped by his father, and after that he found a nice place for him and people who love him and appreciate his work. He finally got what he deserved.

Anime was awesome, and i think there would not be second season. But in the other hand, it is good, because whole story ended, and there is nothing much to be showed in second season in my opinion. Everything finished, he got appreciation by people, and he found love of his life. i think the second season would be superfluous because as i said, there is nothing to be showed. And the creator tried to make a light novel which contains 12 episodes and he did a pretty good job.

10/10 for me :)

Now that was a rushed battle. It only lasted for like 10 seconds. Putting the opening in that moment wasn't unexpected in the slightest, but Identity is such a 10/10 opening that I'm not complaining at all. It made everything more hyped.

Damn, the proposal though, did not see that coming. Stella is so great. I feel bad for Touka, I wish she passed as well instead of that lady with the hat. Those 2 sisters/friends seem to be important and will get some spotlight in the next arcs, but a season 2 at this point sounds impossible. 8/10

A finale episode, with a proper concluded ending, very hard to see, but we find it here !!

The major theme that hold me to this anime till the end, is obviously, the romance of our sailed couple. And in fact, these types of romance where we actually get out couple sailed within just 1 season, very rare to find... To be honest, i actually shred some tears seeing the hardship of our MC, Damn ! how pathetic condition he's gone through. Loved all the characters, even the tsundere is not being that generic annoying tsundere, infact, an understanding and lovable character. BroCon handled well widely good.

And now it's been already 6 years like, and there's no hope for a S2. According to my research, it's source material, i.e. it's LN has already reached it's final arc (last volume released somewhat in the middle of 2020 and till date no new volume, dman slow, and it broke it's own streak of new volume every 5/6 months) BTW, my point to this was, may be for LN boost, they can release a sequel, just an expectation, at the end we can only finger crossed hope 🤞🏻

Watched both Roku and Raku the same day, Roku as in (Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records) and I gotta say holy shit Rakudai was a boost from watching Rokudenashi which in my eyes looks like to super similar shows when you haven't watched any of them, only seen the characters, cover image and some clips before. But I got really surprised when I had just seen many of the flaws of Rokudenashi and it's bad animation compared, and then watching Rakudai which I had not that much higher expectations to but I was totally wrong. The show had me since the beginning of episode 1 and I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen, Im really glad that Rakudai wasn't another dumb harem magic school shit, but we actually have a main heroine also and some decent relationship between the two instead of stupid stuff ending with a kiss after 229 chapters like Nisekoi. The show didn't cut short on the romance part nor had too much off it. Rakudai imo had a really good balance of romance vs the rest of the shows focus and they together boosted my enjoyment for the show, too little of one side would've changed my view of the show quite a bit. The animation was over the top for my expectations, ofc it's not ufotable, but I gotta say, damn!
I was fine with how Rokudenashi ended and will maybe at some point in the future end up trying the LN but Im not in a hurry. Tho the opposite goes for Rakudai this second I can say. Gotta within the next few days jump into the LN when I have time before my current feelings and memories of the show ends up decaying so I can keep the enjoyment going at MAX rate.

Even though it was clearly a bit rushed, it was still a great final for me that ended up with a proposal. Sometimes you just gotta go for it, right?

Overall a 9/10 anime for me. Too bad a second season was never made.

Really? Toka is only Rank B? On paper Stella truly is the most powerful in the school right now huh

Nice fight against Toka. Straight to the point.

Man, this could've been an easy 24 ep. anime. It has a nice simple story, the mc and the waifus are interesting, the battles were cool, the romance was charming, nice ecchi here and there, and very few boring moments. It really needs a S2. 8/10
