When you watch stuff written by Maeda, there's a decent chance that it's bad, but once you get to the parts that are written by the other Key writers (like the 2nd half of the gang arc), you'll start to miss him. |

| It doesn't get good at 20 hours, it's always entertaining enough. The plot just takes a massive twist and the characters change quite suddenly. Shit hits the fan, so to say. But hey, it could just be Kokko does not enjoy jrpgs. There's really no reason to play something if you feel like it's not worth it. I personally love the combination of a cheerful cast, classic fantasy, jrpg gameplay and drama but if the humor and drama do not get you, you probably will dislike it. |

I played it up to a certain point but it felt like a bunch of meaningless fetch and kill quests without any real intergrity or overarching plot. And from what I've heard, it never really develops one. The battle system was quite dull too |

| It really doesn't in the first game, it's all character building and adventuring until the end where there's kinda of a big mission, there's tons of foreshadowing thrown in the middle that hints at a plot but that's it, and the second game is also taking its sweet time. Lots of things overarch though, there's just no plot, but characters keep coming back, things you dismissed before are now important, etc. Seriously no reason to play it if you aren't ready for that, no other game is going to give you an experience like it when it comes to that though. |
