| Usually anime like this doesn't do much for me, but for some reason I absolutely loved every minute of this episode. XD Seriously enjoying this a lot more than I would have expected. | This show is refreshingly honest/open with the ecchi stuff, and is really funny in a different way. Wow, Ali project returns to make a new ED, been a while since i heard that quirky style. So many old singers returning this season. Finally: This is the second time when Silver Link added a slap where there wasn't any to begin with (in the original, Stella didn't lose her bra either). This is rubbing many fans - me included - very wrong, because Stella is NOT a typical violent tsundere-bitch. Silver Link should stop altering her character, since it doesn't help in the least. It's only making things worse. All things considered, still good entertainment (and it's obvious that the vast majority of people unaware of the original have a good time). But it could be better. Hoping that Silver Link is regaining their stride. To eveyone in this thread bitching about this episode, no one forces you to continue watching this, yet you continue, why? cause in truth it's your guilty pleasure -might as well state it's cause most of you will return here in a few weeks and start bitching all over again. DETAILS PEOPLE! DETAILS! No one ever stated this ain't a cliché (One of the most clichés out there) Don't like it? Don't watch. It's that simple. It would make more sense if Silver Link where to reorganize the scene were Ikki beats up the jealous dudes AFTER this episode. So it might not be entirely skipped, just moved. |

| This episode focused on ecchi too much! Aaand here I was, waiting for the ERASER scene... :( The anime also skipped out on Stella-Ikki comedic conversation, and Ikki admitting he was indeed charmed, and SADDENED (which seldom happens in a story) by the fact that Stella called him a pervert . This episode also made Stella more tsundere that she actually is by changing the end of the bath scene (bikini top coming off and slapping Ikki VS Stella just rushing out the bathroom after pressing it behind Ikki's back).... :( |

| So there is a transgender character on this show. Hopefully she won't be the butt of a ton of jokes because of it. What is it with all the incest in anime these days? Ikki's grandfather offered some encouraging words, but wasn't he complicit with the family's horrible treatment of Ikki? |
| The backstory was decent. The self-awareness at the beginning of the episode made me think it might be okay, but then they turned it into a double subversion with the kiss, which I didn't care for. At all. I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but the rest hardly looks different than anything else I would expect from the genre. AP24 said: Thanks for the info. |

I mean they did do a fist bump at the very end of EP1 to signify their new working relationship. The dere parts is just Stella already being somewhat interested in Ikki with her mounting him and all. Somewhat flimsy in comparison to the LN, but hey there's only so many minutes they can cram in one episode and the cuts were acceptable enough. #2 - Yeah the scene where Stella was staring at the bathroom door before the bath scene was really insufficient in this regard. A disappointing cut, but still acceptable in my opinion. #3 - Now this one will have different connotation from an anime-only viewer point of view. My interpretation of it is Stella asking whether or not Ikki is attracted to her breasts, or in this case her body. This somewhat alters the meaning from the source, but overall it accomplishes the same objective of Stella gauging where Ikki stands so to speak. And let's face it, the episode was already prefaced with Shizuku clearly being a blood-related sibling of Ikki. So still an acceptable change although the slap was indeed an unnecessary addition. Some of the context from the LN may be missing, but I think SL added just enough to prevent it from being just pointless fanservice. Though they're really going full steam with the misdirection... While anime-original, both are rather justifiable given the context of the situation. I agree that it's largely unnecessary, but works given the notion of misdirecting their audience. Does it change Stella's perception as a character? Perhaps. But the game doesn't really change until the next story arc. Post pool-scene (because we all know stories like this just have to have a beach/hotspring/pool episode) is where SL will really be tested on whether or not they can keep it in check. Until then just enjoy the ride. |

| I don't know why people are complaining so much about this episode, I found it quite enjoyable. Dat wincest came out of left field. Seeing how this is a romance, and he said his sister was blood related I didn't expect her to initiate like that, lol. I thought the scene where they were all over Ikki was hilarious. First the arm between boobs, then the kiss, then Shizuku and Stella really quiet and really fast mutter those insults and then immediately fight. Then they keep calling each other names the entire time they cleaned. I thought that was done way better than the usual big chest vs small chest cat fights. People complained about Stella being bitchy too? Was I watching the same show? Because I saw a Stella who was jealous of girls clinging onto the guy she was interested in. Then she waited for him to give him a drink and had a talk with him because she wanted to know more about him. Then she gets into the bath with him and washes him and puts her tits on his back.....and she's bitchy how? I thought she was noticeably more dere this episode than last week. Only thing I'm disappointed in is that someone mentioned a scene where Ikki beats up some guys who are jealous of him and he had girls fawning over him. That I would've liked to see. - Who knows, maybe they'll do it next week. After all those people saw what happened with him being pounced by his sister it'll spark more interest in him around the school. They could just change the order shit happens. |

| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA OR LIGHT NOVEL BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Ok, let's just review what we saw here. We saw the newspaper girl press Ikki's arm against her bosom, but with nothing else indicating sexual interest at all. We saw the imouto force a kiss on Ikki when he wasn't expecting it, and a clear indication that he isn't interested in his sister that way at all. Neither of these makes this harem or incest, so there is really no reason for all the hysteria and faux threats to stop watching (I'm on to your game, you'll be coming back to dump on this show for the next ten episodes...). We did see a lot of skinship between Ikki and Stella, as well as clear indications that both of them are developing interests in the other that are romantic and sexual in nature. I like true harem shows and I have no problem with incest...but those just aren't here nor should they be if the adaptation is going to be true to the source material. As for that unfortunate off-screen slap (the one we didn't see but reasonably assume happened), I'm willing to consider it a panic reaction out of Stella's embarrassment with Ikki noticing just what had happened to her top. And regarding the wardrobe malfunction, sure it's a bit of fan service--but that's what sells BD's and supports anime being made. If it keeps up every episode, this might have to have the ecchi label attached, but skinship and people getting naked is actually a major point of what romance is all eventually about. Also note that the reason people who are familiar with LN/Manga are arguing with you about the nature of the show, and the reason why they are sometimes posting spoilers that they shouldn't is that there is a good base to the story, and they're trying to get you to get past your first reaction and stick around for the development, the tournament, and the underlying plot. |
