| I rather liked the volumes of the LN that got translated, so was looking forward to this starting up. Explanations were severely lacking in regards to the adventurers' statuses, but maybe they'll sort that out next episode, or in specials like mahouka tried to do. Liked the episode otherwise, though I hate Bate even more after seeing the tavern scene animated. I just hope they don't rush things too much. |

| When I first heard this was going to be adapted into an anime after reading the first vol. of the LN, I was a bit cynical but excited. From reading the LN, I could practically taste that it was anime material from the way it was written and just seemed to flow smoothly, but I was cynical because I thought based on the premise it would either be a meh or brilliant. Obviously, it's the first episode so no big judgements can really be made. The animation was smooth, which is a plus and all the important characters are there (though I wish we had more time to focus on them, oh well, next few eps should deal with that). The pacings a bit wack, but then again I don't know how many episodes there are going to be and they do have 6 volumes of the LN out currently so maybe they have a lot to work though. Biggest gripe is the action. Yeah, the blood and gore are there, but it seems a lot more superficial than it is in the LN,a lot more hack-and-slash means-to-an-end than tactical-because-otherwise-you're-gonna-get-your-ass-kicked or heavily emotional like in the case of the fighting after Bell ran out of the tavern. Hope that improves with the next ep. Overall, an okay start. |

| I thought this was going to be just some really lame harem adaptadion, but this is MUCH worse, they got every bad aspect of the Light Novel and intensified them, I was going to watch it just to see how bad it was going to be, but I probably won't be able to make it. |

I thought he pulled off that innocent and harmless vibe the character was going for tbh. I actually hate the idea of ecchi/harem? But then I go watching series like Cross Ange and NGNL and rating them really high because goddamn they're just awesome (yeah Cross Ange isn't harem unless it's Tusk but you know what I mean). I'm more than happy to add danmachi to this wary list of favorite ecchi titles lol. Here's hoping it'll live up to the promise of the first episode! |

| As much as I think that Matsuoka is unfitting here, I think people should't hate him. Blame producers/director/sound director/whoever is responsible for the choice. If voice actors start saying "Nah, I think I have enough roles so far, thank you" they'll stay without job pretty quickly. This industry is pretty harsh. |

And the SAO memories come back immediately as soon as the episode starts playing. Hopefully this anime will be able to right SAO's wrongs, because I'm really seeing quite a similar setup. Lone guy who might possibly become a Gary Sue, lots of fanservice, adventuring, skill-gaining, a similarly drawn fantasy world with multiple species...at least the characters are pretty charismatic. Bell has a cute personality and he's a likeable protagonist. I just hope he's not going to get all OP and ruin the premise of the show. It could be charming show about a somewhat airheaded MC who struggles to find his way in the world, or it could be a stupid show about a somewhat airheaded MC who gets magicu powers and easily climbs to the top. I found the art style to be quite similar to that of SAO. Even the first monster looks like the boss from the earlier episodes of the anime, so...I'm not sure if it's the same artist, or it just coincidentally [ or not ] happens to be a matching style. A little disappointed in the excessive amount of fanservice. I knew it would be there because of the cover of the anime, but wow, was that all necessary? I would prefer for Hestia to have been a cute and child-like character, but nah, she's going all Hollywood surgery on us. Well, I guess the show has to appeal to the watchers who like that kind of thing. Seriously, though, I felt like some of the scenes might be better placed in an ecchi anime :/ I'll live with the fanservice as long as the plot continues to be good, but if I end up dropping the show, the fanservice will be one of the reasons why I did so. /loli As a person who loves mythology, I was mildly annoyed that Loki was said to be a girl, but eh, I'll deal with it for now. As long as it doesn't destroy mythological accuracy to the point where we get another Kamigami no Asobi [ or w/e it's called ], I'll grin and bear it. So, final thoughts. Decently appealing, charismatic characters, looks and feels like SAO, I can't believe it's not SAO! Let's hope that this doesn't take that downward spiral into suicidal destruction that we're all so familiar with. |

| Great and enjoyable first episode. I really like the main character. Kirito's seiyuu may be not the best one fitting to Bell, but it's still fine. Looking forward to the next episode. I hope that this anime will not disappoint me. |

| Good start to the first episode both of the main characters (Bell and Hestia) are quite likable. Also liked the comedy and that little bit of ecchi in there. |

| Really nice ep, I can see some potential development from here on out. I really like this rpg-based world with gods concept, but I would personally love a different theme with it, as well as different resolutions. The art is pleasing and a lot better than I expected |

| Gotta say, I thought that the VA of Bell would sound way worse than he actually did now~ He is.... alright. He still doesn't fit, but I guess I can accept him. 1st EP was pretty good actually, it went the same way as the Manga and I hope it stays like that. Visuals were great, characters look good... only the OP wasn't my kind of beer, it's a bit boring in my opinion. Let's see how this is going to develop~ |

| Only read the manga and I got to say they did a fine job adapting the LN so far (I think?). This series is more suited as an anime compared to other LN since most of the contents are pretty self-explanatory without all those technical jumbo-mumbo details lol. I don't mind this pace and I hope they keep this up without rushing near the end. The story development is good in the manga so I'll be looking forward to these upcoming episodes. I hope that all of these haters would just drop the anime but that's asking too much I guess. |
