| Um... Uh... no. Actually I feel like there's a stereotype that people who watch anime are less smart than people who don't. But maybe that's just me. I would say, however, that from my experience, fans of anime tend to be pretty free-thinking and independent-minded, seeing as they're attracted to a form of media that isn't heavily promoted or followed in the West. |

It's based on what anime you are delving into. If you're really getting a good vibes just from watching a handful of DBZ and Clannad all day long (maybe 3x a day), you are probably just seeking anime for enjoyment purposes or emotional resonance. Do not mind what the others say about your grammar, as grammar is not an attribute of intelligence (in a practical sense). Meanwhile, intelligence is a very vague term and requires a lot of etymology and hermeneutics to understand its nature, so it's wise not to compare or associate it with anything UNLESS you have a profound understanding of it. As for correlation, I'm glad that you have rated Ergo Proxy as 10, though there are numerous claims that suggests its incompetency to produce something genuinely intellectual, and is just being desperate for trying to be one, I really respect those people that can understand and appreciate this "gateway show". | (Ignoring the fact that this is likely bait) There's probably an indirect correlation. -Anime is popular among introverts -Introverts are underrepresented in the general population (25%) but overrepresented in the gifted population (75%) So you could argue that a lot of 'smarter' people watch anime, because introverts are generally smarter. |
