Finally, we're done with the mommy problems. Now we can focus on "Yuuki Yuuki". Damn, last episode's gonna be hea-vy.

5/5 this one.

Personally I think this was the best arc of SAO to date. It was a mix of reality and VR as well as much needed character development with a nice story, and action as a sweet cherry on top.

It also made me like Kirito a whole lot more; he regained a personality that was previously non-existent, and by taking a backseat we weren't getting a ton of self-insert bullshit the beginning of the season (GGO) presented. It's almost like seeing Kirito's true personality (or what he's supposed to have been), which is extremely awesome.

Asuna's issues with her mom were resolved nicely, although I think it was just a matter of needing a talk, than arguing and being harsh to each other.

I'm looking forward to the next episode. If the ending is good this gets a solid 8/10 from me.

Nice, a lot of feelings like in the previous episode. I'm happy to Asuna, finally she succeed to explain her feelings at her mother.

I think the end of the arc will be very sad.

This ep was really good. Too bad that's there only 1 ep to go... I hated Asuna's mom, even though my favorite seiyuu was playing her, but now she gained a few good points in my eyes.

Well its almost over and even if this arc adapted well i think it didn't go well since its almost over the ending will probably suck watched SAO for VR fighting scenes and they pretty non existent.

Well I would drop the show then because that's not what the series is about. Fighting is not the goal of the show at all and only happens when needed.

I would get in to the whole serious drama stuff if i read the LN but since 75% is missing its just doesn't make you feel for char. so they should focus on the fun aspect of this show like they did in first arc.

I actually quite liked this episode, surprisingly. Yuuki is now a really likable character! As for Asuna's mother, it was nice seeing her cry, since I thought she was heartless. Next week it all ends, I'm kinda sad now. .-.

Adaptation quality matters.

MR so far i the most faithfully adapted arc, while Fairy Dance is least faithfully adapted(Aincrad being second least faithfully adapted). Hint: Aincrad and FD, if done correctly would be ~30-50 episodes long.

GGO relies HEAVILY on all the set-up and character growth from previous two arcs that anime rushed through.

No f*cking way lol
(Only if you are refering yourself to SAO Progressive).

I would give 15 episodes for Aincrad to make a perfect adaptation (it only needs one more, for the sake of some better char-developments) and 16 for Fairy Dance (for the sake of content and development, it needs at least more 5 episodes. The fights in the animateed version were basically huge "deus ex machina"s, since Kirito just randomly shook his sword to win everyone).

THey already added the first boss from progressive. It does not make sense that htey could not add all the other things from progressive and side stories.

Side stories alone were rushed as fuck(yui's story would need one or two more episodes, murder mystery, another episode, etc)

But, I thought that character was Asuna's sub account, not her mom's hurr durr. :P

Anyways....nice episode, felt heart warming throughout the whole thing.
What with Yuuki attending school....in a cool way, Asuna making up with her mom, and Asuna also gets to stay in the same school, as usual. :3 It all worked out nicely. :3

Overall nice episode, but what's next? o-o I wonder.....

It is Asuna's account. And neither was her mom supposed to be that young like she is in the anime.

Did you actually read the novels? Regardless of the events in volume 1, every1 1 of the side stories skipped scenes, dialogue etc. Well i agree with you in the NO WAY to 50 episodes. My estimate on a faithfully adapted aincrad arc with sidestories would come out about 18 episodes. episode 2 of sao1 came from the progressive novel. If we try to include progressive up to the 3rd floor, then perhaps a perfect 2-cour show(maybe a little longer). Idk about fairy dance cuz I never bothered to read it.

SAO1 NEEDED first day.

Kirito's development was lacking. Also, Santa side story SHOULD have been more than 1 episode, or showing Kirito leveling as crazy 18 hours a day would be good for the character too. There were bunch of things that needed to be animated.

50 episodes may be a bit much for Aincrad and Fairy Dance, but the Aincrad arc at the very least could have easily made 24 episodes, maybe even more.

If we analyze just episode 2 of season 1 for example, you can truly see how much A-1 has skipped, so much that they skipped more than they actually adapted

Personal explanation picture: http://i.imgur.com/5KaFpfU.png

Argo literally got no justice in the anime, not even a mention that she was the creator of the guidebook. Only a 3 second appearance in Red-Nosed Reindeer (Sachi sidestory).

Lind wasn't mentioned at all in the anime too, you see him only once in the background in Red-Nosed Reindeer. Seeing that he is the leader of one of the top clearing guilds (Divine Dragon Alliance) and becomes the successor of Diavel's will, A-1 chose not to do anything about that.

Kibaou also appears again over the course of the series, and is one of the major figures in the clearing guild Aincrad Liberation Force that ordered Kobatz's team to attack the 74th floor boss Gleam Eyes in which they were wiped out and Kibaou was also the leader of the corrupt faction that stranded Thinker in Morning Dew Girl (Yui sidestory) and extorted players on the first floor.

And that's just from one episode of season 1.

I was really hoping to see "First Day" animated. Even with "Aria in the starless night", they completely skipped the beginning part which would have given Asuna character way more depth.

Pretty good! Kirito-kun helps Asuna with Yuuki's dream to go to the school and now she can goes to the school every day with Asuna. :)

Yuuki gave straights to Asuna for she can get courage to convince her mother talking with her inside of the virtual game on SAO. Their story was wonderful and I might that her mother is now free to let her daughter study with their friends on her school.
