| Nice 1st episode, great balance of its comedy, drama and music. The animation and art style is vividly appealing and nice to see a background story for Kousei. Well I have nothing else to say here, but great introduction, so I will see how the music flows in the series. |

| Beautiful and lovely first episode. The animation and backgrounds are stunning and the story sounds quite interesting for what is made of. The comedy note gave this show a perfect start for me. I really want to see what will happen and how the characters and the story will develop. |

| Premise is fine but that horrible character design is really off-putting. It reeks of shoujo. So far humour is pretty bland. Like MC. Still better than that noise he's listening to. |

| Wow. I absolutely loved this first episode. I'm a humongous fan of Nodame Cantabile, and I love classical music and just music in general (having played violin, piano, acapella, guitar and even been a DJ) so I was hoping that this would fill the gap that was lost ever since Nodame ended. I already like the main characters from what I've seen so far. Kousei doesn't fall into complete emo-douche mode as the male MC with the "traumatic" past (although his mother was a bitch). Kaoru is like Nodame incarnate with more of a violent and controlling streak in her. We've got the clichéd side character types right now (childhood friend in love with MC, athletic best friend) but this is shaping up to be my sleeper must watch of the fall. Oh and did I already mention that the art (especially the vibrant colors) and music were stunning? The only thing that I would nitpick are the weird designs with the characters' noses but other than that A-1 looks like they did an excellent job. I just hope this doesn't fall into too many overused and worn out shoujo tropes, humor, drama, love triangles/squares/pentagons... But you know what? I don't care. I was excited for this series to premiere and it did not disappoint at all. I'm definitely going to be looking forward to this every Thursday. |

| A very nice opening that gave us all the basics for further character development (and establishes the two obvious couples for shipping throughout the series). From the first bars of the opening theme right through to the end card there really wasn't a misstep. We got a good picture of the dynamics of the relationship between the three friends as well as a wonderful intro for the hyper-kinetic Miyazono who is about to totally disrupt the monochromatic existence that Arima has been experiencing since his breakdown. |

| Huuuuge fan of music anime, having played a lot of piano myself including the Moonlight Sonata No. 3 played at the beginning I can't help but be excited for this show. |
| Aw, I was expecting someone who was more of a free spirit. I mean, interest in Wataru? That defeats my image of her. XD Looks like a love square so I'mma have this on hold. Beautiful animation though. |
| The art seems really interesting, colorful and cheerful, I'm really digging it. Dem piano skills doe... LOL, poor Kousei got KO-ed and Tsubaki couldn't care less about it since it was him that got hit by the ball XD. So his mother is dead and he can't play the piano anymore eh... Damn, even after he got treated so badly by his mother he still cared/cares for her eh T.T Nice photo timing there Kousei! Freaking Kaori's really annoying, she likes Watari for some odd reason and has that fake personality and whatnot... I can see her becoming one of my most hated female characters this season. |

| Great first episode I'm definitely sticking to this. Do I smell a potential love triangle brewing up between childhood friend & new Heroine ? If MC-kun steals his friends potential GF would that be a bro code violation ? On a side note I'm still wondering why I keep seeing all these flip infrared phones in all these animes. Like wtf do those phones still even exist? |

| Kousei playing piano was quite the sight! Getting hit by a baseball xD That bleeding and Tsubaki's reaction. Kousei quitting piano because of his mother's death :/ Watching Kaori playing a melodica! Especially with the kids too ^^ What a relaxing atmosphere. The first actual sight of Kaori being with tears! What a first impression, taking a picture just when the wind blew, "it really is coincidence"! Kaori being a violist and likes Watari. Off to her performance. This was a really good first episode!!! |

| The quality was pretty nice, surprisingly. Hopefully A-1 doesn't end up redirecting its budget from this show on SAO. Anyways, feels like there's going to be a love polygon, which I'm not a big fan on but I do want to see how this turns out. |

| Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso's first episode was great! I love a good romance. I hope I'm not setting the bar too high in terms of the romance aspect though, I look forward to seeing this series. Interesting story in the making. Absolutely stunning artwork!  |

BTW the romance is not the main part of the manga although it is certainly there. It's more about the music and the issues of parental enforcement of dreams. Personally I think there is a love square as follows although i don't think there is evidence for it in the manga so far Childhood friend > MC > Blonde > Best-friend > Childhood friend |

| Oh man, the animation and sound quality are already way up there. It's probably too early to say this, but I won't be surprised if this turns out to be the anime of the season for me. I think what I like most so far (aside from the animation and sound) is that the comedy doesn't seem overly wacky or over-the-top. Kousei seems realistic and it didn't take much for me to sympathize with him. His friends are pretty normal, and Kaori is, well, I'm not sure at this point. More so than Nodame Cantabile (which for some reason I didn't connect with, unlike everyone else who seems to have watched it), I was getting Anohana vibes from this. They aren't too similar, but that's the only thing I could think of while watching. Also liked the Laputa reference. Those kids, especially the one playing the recorder, were oddly well-harmonized. Really excited to follow along with this. The composer in me is dying to hear some good music performances and a stellar OST. |

| I've always been drawn to animes about music and this one does not disappoint! Moonlight Sonata in the beginning was amazing and the music from beginning to end was so beautiful. The anime is all around such a beautiful sight! Definitely a keeper! |

| kinda fun the cover art is reversed Nodame Cantabile :D visuals were really nice to look at,think my favorite part was them all playing music together hope this turns out good. though i'm a little confused on her change from beating the crap out of him to wanting to bring him along :S |

| Beautiful animation, although the character design of the MC seems a bit "off" at times. Yay for another classical music anime that's not a contrived reverse harem! I wish the violinist girl was a little less perfect though. Blonde hair, blue eyes - she seems to be this unreachable standard of perfection and it's somewhat irritating. Perhaps that's just my own jealousy speaking, though. :P To be honest, I like the athlete girl more atm, and it's going to irritate me that the MC will gravitate towards perfect girl instead. Hopefully that won't ruin my experience with the show, but I'll enjoy it for what it is. | YESSS. I expected this to be excellent from the start and it was! :) I have so many positive things to say but it might take a while to type them. Animation is great, characters have potential and I can tell this show will give them proper development. Hmm, lots of characters will get their hearts broken (Honey and Clover vibes man..), the MC will learn to love music (Sakamichi no Apollon vibes), and I like the comedy (the moment where Watari met Kaori for the first time was pretty funny).
