Kjeldoran said: Well, it's a nice theory; but you're missing an important factor that disproves it: Suzaku is already a Knight of Rounds in the OVA judging from his clothing and the respect he's being shown, and Charles didn't even know about Suzaku's desire for knighthood until Suzaku brought Lelouch before him. It's already largely known that Akito the Exiled takes place between R1 and R2. At the start of R2, the EU was in the verge of collapse/disintegration, and if I remember correctly, the EU was actually taken into the fold of the Britannian Empire within the first five episodes; in fact, further into R2, the EU as it exists now in Akito was wiped off the map (as a different color of course) I wonder if it's safe to assume that Pendragon is in Russia, or at least in the vicinity of St. Petersburg? I always thought it was in what would be the USA. Anyway, I'm seeing that the basic assumption/hypothesis is that Lelouch (there is no doubt in my mind that it isn't) has already been to Pendragon, brought before the Emperor, and been brainwashed by Charles's geass. Meaning, that has been brainwashed to act as Julius Kingsley, and will be brought before the Emperor a second time to become the Lelouch in the first episode of R2. There's actually a second possibility: Lelouch as he appears in Akito the Exiled is one who has not yet been brought before the Emperor and had his memory erased. When he first appeared in R2 as the brainwashed Lelouch, there was no need to cover his eye and did not wear one (he only wore the geass-shielding contact after he regained his memories), so why cover his eye now? Which leads me to think it's possible that Lulu has been forced to act as Julius under some sort of binding order (such as threatening Nunnally/revealing who abducted Nunnally and the chance of releasing her if he complies). After all, Suzaku, who's constantly guarding Lelouch, is now immune from Lelouch's geass, and Lelouch cannot beat Suzaku, so he's in checkmate. Also, since the EU theater is so close to Pendragon, once Lulu has been all used up, the emperor can do his thing; Lulu and Suzaku probably took a plane to Vladivostok and are taking the train west towards Europe or something. The scene where Lulu is crying out for water is an odd scene, especially after his drastic emotional change when coming out of the train. It's not as if Lulu has never played the dramatic actor act before---so there could be a connection there, that Lulu is tormented by the development at the end of R1, but has not had his memory erased (yet) and is forced to act as Julius (probably to crush the entire EU theater and bring them to surrender, as Emperor Charles obviously would know that Lelouch is unparalleled in military strategy). It's all conjecture, but there are enough subtle things going on that would make Lulu simply getting his memory wiped twice a bit too simple. One hole in my theory is that in when Suzaku brings Lelouch before the emperor, Lulu was still in his school uniform (or was it his Zero suit?). But then again, that's only a cosmetic issue; they could always do away with that ex post facto. We'll just have to wait and see. Honestly, the way Lelouch acted at the end is extremely out of character for the normal him at the time. I'd put it at a 95% probability that old Charles erased his memory and made him Julius, and that he's going to do it again once he needs Lelouch as clueless C.C bait (every Geass but Lelouch's in the series is multi-use, why can't Charles' be multi-use too?). Maybe the "I need water" bit was just Lelouch fighting against the effects of the Geass on the train ride, up until he finally gave in and became Julius. On another note; I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the Lancelot in action with the new CG. Everything so far has been amazing with just Sutherlands, Gloucestors, Alexanders (5th Gen Frames), and strange custom frames fighting against each other (possibly 6th gen frames). With the Lancelot, the frame which both had the most badass fight scenes in the anime and is supposed to be the most advanced frame in existence (tied with the Guren as a 7th gen frame), its fight scenes in the OVA will surely be of jizztastic quality. |

Yeah, I thought Akito was like Suzaku who was using the geass used on him to make himself stronger, but I guess not. I'm just confused now. And wtf was with that Lelouch like guy. It was Lelouch with a different name. Akito was soo awesome in the battle and the end. I love his relation with his brother. Its so twisted and dark and mysterious and complicated. Ahhh, I want the next movie to come out. |

This was quite a bit better than the first movie. The fight was awesome, great soundtrack. Also like everyone else has said, that's most likely Lelouch either before his memories were overwritten or before the "memory wipe" that was shown in the series. Akito's brother's Knightmare sure is flashy lol, can't wait to see Lancelot. |

Wow, I actually enjoyed that quite a bit. On top of the delicious action scenes, there was actually some substance to the story here. The first movie felt kind of bland, but I like the direction this story is heading towards now. I really like the different perspectives on the world within Code Geass that we're getting here. One of the main problems I had with the main series was how one-sided a lot of the overarching conflicts felt, but I'm glad that this movie series is adding a bit more dimensionality to the Code Geass setup with little details and its insights on Elevens and other factions outside of what was explored in the TV series. Out of the three, I found Yukiya the most interesting, especially with the bits of back story he provided. Aside from some of the inherent flaws derived from the core concepts established in the Code Geass franchise, one of the biggest qualms I had about this movie was Leila's character, which has felt almost utterly useless in the movie series thus far and whose personality seems to only consist of a shallowly-developed, sappy, overly-upright "I want to save everyone" attitude. On the other hand, I really like how Akito's character is shaping up, and I'm excited to see how his story will unfold after seeing what was hinted at in this movie. On a side note, I really like the European Knightmare designs. The way they moved added a lot of visual interest to the action scenes, at least for me. Shaing's Knightmare on the other hand... I could not look at that thing and take it seriously. The part with Suzaku and Lelouch... errr... I'm not sure how I feel about the integration of the main series into this spinoff, since I feel that the story presented so far is fine on its own. If they manage to integrate it cleverly and sensibly, then I'll be impressed, but I'm pretty skeptical right now. |

Do people actually think that it's not Lelouch? It's so obvious. It was good to see Lelouch and Suzaku this episode. So now we know this takes place between R1 and R2. The action in this movie was really good. Looking forward to the next one. |

Kjeldoran said: That's true, that must have slipped my mind, or I sneezed when they mentioned that. Oh well, it's not like that block of text is going anywhere. Even though I'd have to agree that Lulu getting double wiped is probably the right assumption, I still think the other theory fits Code Geass's air for the theatrical a little better. I'd have to agree on the last bit; your theory, contrary to what the odds may be in favor of, fits nicely with Code Geass' typical dramatic aesthetic and how they usually build up the aura around Lelouch pre-combat. Another thing I really liked about what you said (which probably would've proved true had Suzaku not clearly been a rounds member already) was its potential in changing how we view the first episode of R2: if I recall correctly (which, admittedly, I may not), C.C. and Kallen "knew" when and where to acquire Lelouch (Kallen obtaining a job at the casino, C.C's purported purpose of the entire operation "to pick [Lelouch] up") and plan the operation to rejuvenate the Black Knights, so for all intents and purposes, I think it possible, if Lelouch was acting, he somehow managed to notify them of his captivity and plan a year in advance (making for quite an entertaining upcoming episode). Nonetheless, they more likely 'just' monitored Lelouch's daily activity and were all ostensibly dramatic just because, 'cause that's how Code Geass plays that kind of shit. It's fun to dream, though. Great episode btw. I thought the animation was sleeker, and had a bit of elegance to it; more narratively in-focus and tight -- far funner to watch than the first one. They upped the intrigue for the next installment with Lelouch's arrival, so hats off to Sunrise for that (I didn't think they had the gall to bring out Lelouch this early, albeit I suppose it's easy fanservice, so whatever). |

Amazing episode! Looks like the next shouldn't be so long a wait. I've seen a few mentions of the geass-related effect in the battle but no explanations so far so here's my thoughts/hypothesis. I'll use the best wording I can think of at the time but apologies if it isn't quite the right terminology. Spoilered to save space... First off we see the scientists commenting on the similarity or compatibility of the brain waves between Akito and the other 3. It is for this reason Leila isn't affected Later they have the screens showing a network diagram with Akito's brain in the centre and the other 3 around it. This looks like it has Akito's brain waves overflowing into theirs. I don't think this was intentional on Akitos part but more his geass-addled brain activity became so intense it was somehow transferred through the knightmare system to the other three, effectively suppressing their normal thinking and causing them to experience the same effects as Akito, some kind of combat psychosis where they focus solely on the destruction of their enemy. However, I'm not sure why Akito isn't dead after the death command from his brother or how it now manifests during combat as we see. |

Thanks. Just what I've been looking for. Have better quality? I read it somewhere when the first movie came out, it is suggested that Akito and his brother Shin could have Chinese blood(Japanese-Chinese mix?). Any confirmation on this? I know this movie take place between first and second season of CG,but is there any possibilities that maybe in the last movie, they will explain whether(don't click spoiler tag if you haven't finish Code Geass season 2) Lelouch is truly dead or not? |

Any extra scenes of Lelouch and Suzaku is orgasmic. Is anybody else wondering why Lelouch was struggling on the train and begging Suzaku for some water? What did they do to him? Did the Emperor use his Geass on Lelouch to make him believe he had some sort of deficiency/illness? To contradict that: Suzaku showing hatred towards Lelouch and the fact that Lelouch is wearing an eye-patch makes me believe that Lelouch's memories have yet to be wiped. Also, how is Akito half-immune to the Geass? I only say "half-immune" because it seems as if Akito is taking his brother's command (to die) and forcing it onto other people rather than fully taking it in himself. It's as if he is just a vessel for his brother's Geass command. In any case it is extremely similar to Suzaku's command "to live" in that it has saved both of their asses multiple times. Aaand, does Akito have his own Geass? Can't wait for the next episode. |
