It's just that they were already third years, so it was bound to end after/around graduation. Sket Dance was stuck on the fall of their second year for a while (and was potentially endless), but then Shinohara decided to let the time flow again with the School Trip Arc (he says it on the free talk in volume 15), so it was obvious it would have ended after graduation. I don't believe Sket Dance was cancelled though... The latest Volume was somewhere in the top 30 best sellers just a week or two ago. I'm pretty sure it wasn't cancelled, since there are still many series below it that would've got cancelled before Sket would. I think Shinohara felt like it was time to end the series since they were graduating their third year of high school. And volume sales don't really help determine which series get axed, it's the ranking that determines it. |
| It's sad to let go, but if this is it's natural ending then all the better. This manga sure brings back good memories! |

| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
| Dammit I really don't want Sket Dance to end! Absolutely love the series, anime and manga. <3 There is still a lot of chapters that haven't been translated yet so I guess I can still look forward to those until they get up to the final chapter. Hopefully the anime will get another season. They really NEED to animate the Switch On arc and the Trouble Travel arc at the very least. :) I also hope the series ends with a set pairing.
