| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I have not read the manga yet but the beginning of this episode was pretty typical. Mm, I find some of the music to be a bit silly. Arata seems to be a gentle guy though who cares about others. I feel a bit sorry for the grandma. Arata is also dressed kinda funny, almost looks liked a girl kinda. Oh snap: Some of the action were okay I guess. I'm still curious on what direction this show will go. |

| Captivated me enough but will need more episodes to form a more solid opinion. I liked the dual storytelling of the two Aratas. Should be interesting to see how they mature as people being placed into completely different times |

| Looks like fujoshit... Every 30 years, a new princess is chosen from the Hime family to serve the Hayagami. The time has come again, but over these past years, records state not a single female has been born, save for one, the 15-year-old Arata. The only problem is, Arata is actually a male! Forced to disguise himself and take the place of the princess candidate until a formal one can be found, he attends the festival only to witness the current princess, Kokuri-hime, murdered, and his own life is forfeit as well, by the hands of the princess’ personal guard, the 12 Shinshou. As he runs for his life, Kannagi of the 12 convinces everyone that Arata is the one who has murdered the princess instead, and now everyone in the Imperial Court is after his head! It fucking is. |

| Actually interested. Looks weird, but hey better than a lot of shows this season. I'll see where this goes. Weak ass MC goes into a different land. Hopefully he gets stronger. |

| Well that actually wasn't bad. Better than I was expecting at least. The concept isn't that bad and the setting is pretty interesting. I thought at first that they will change the focus on each Arata every episode but from the ED it doesn't seem that the other Arata has that much screen time. Let's see how this works out. 7.5/10. Will follow |

I wasn't expecting Hamaji's voice to come out of Kotoha either so that was a nice surprise. I also liked the ED. We'll see how this goes, I have more patience with anime than manga, though looking at the number of episodes, guess it's going to be an original anime ending. |

I loved that part of his story, his suffering really gets across and you do feel sorry and relate. The whole Kadowaki getting transfered and Suguru betraying Arata were pretty impactful scenes in the manga, but in the anime it was more like "oh hey, this happened, but we don't have enough time to show the details". Arata had a lot of depth in the manga. I hope they have some flashbacks on his past later so the viewers can relate. Other than that, not a bad adaptation. I'll keep watching it, but I recommend the manga over the anime. Also, that ED was pretty boss. |
| Well, I missed the parts that show how bad arata was bullied, and how despicable kadowaki is, but if felt good to finally see this animated,I tought it would look bad but the graphics were preety great. very nice ending, can't wait to see how the did the OP.Strangely the didn't show some support characthers that show early in the manga despite showing kadowaki's orochi, wich appears only in the fifth volume. overall a good episode. I'm a bit concerned about the possibility of a alternative ending but I'm curious to see how that will work, or not work... 8/10 |

| Fairly happy with the first episode, but yeah, agreed with other manga readers, the start with Arata felt pretty bare, I hope they put more about him in the coming episodes. Still, ahh, Kannagi, how I adored him, nice seeing him animated. |

| I have not read the manga and went in here cold, but it was much better that I thought it was going to be. It has all the Yuu Watase-isms, including the handsome bishonens, the intricate plot underneath a deceptively simple veneer, the many main characters, a lot of them with tragic backstories. It didn't have a lot of overwhelming humor, which I'm glad for. I liked the plot line for both Aratas and I like that the 12 warriors here are actually evil. It reminds me of Fushigi Yugi but with the celestial warriors all trying to kill Miaka rather than protect/fall in love with her. This will make things pretty desperate for our fish-out-of-water Aratas who will have to save the kingdom from these evil bishies and their horrid plan. This is very fairy tale-like, which is one thing that I enjoy about Yuu Watase's work. Its a very complex fairy tale story that somehow still has both very real tragedy and very real happily-ever-afters. This gets a 7.95/10 for me. |

| Compared to the manga, the first episode was too rushed It was an okay ep, but it feels that we were not given a chance to understand what was happening I hope the pacing would slow down, because the manga is pretty interesting and good imo The ending song was good, but the scene used was pretty bad 3/5 |

Especially Kannagi and Akachi close up, sure look gay.. Kannagi look like a girl there? I actually think they should just animate the 1st chapter, blue Arata run into the forest and then swapped with Arata. Then next episode show exactly like how 2nd chapter is, starting with his mom tell him to go to school. But then now I think about it, the 1st episode would be weak like this, without introducing our main lead in it. The staff probably thought like this too. 1st episode is important. So they want to end with Arata using the sword. They will definitely show the whole flashback in 1 of the episodes since they still need to introduce Kadowaki into the story. |

| Oh there are two Arata? One in school while the other world as the "princess" But they fused or switch places? Now Hinohara is in Arata's world. Interesting anime. |

| A little different than I thought, I thought that the girl with bom boms on hair will be the boy disguised as princess :P and I thought that the plot will be about that he needs to be in this disguised for all the anime :P (after reading the plot & looking on the promo pictures). I had higher hops for this I'm little disappointed. The fantasy Arata look a lot better that the one from the real word - hope he will be also in later episodes as I didnt read the manga. |
