Good to see Masaoka die, really makes the story more realistic and also, in my opinion, better; but sad times D;

Next episode seems very promising, either outcome will be very interesting.

Not sure why the death of a character would make the story more realistic?
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Makishima is supposed to be a strong and intellectual villain or anti hero, if he or his plans couldn't kill an important character it would not be very realistic and it also removes a sense of danger.

Ahh ended on a cliffhanger. Urobutcher certainly never disappoints.
This was a great episode, and we're finally reaching the climax.
Akana has gone through major character development. She's much more assertive now.

I never expected Masaoka to die D:

Can't wait for the final episode!!!
What's Akane gonna do?
"We should be more proud of NEETs! Love the country that strives to produce NEETs, for world peace, we must stand up! We must find more non NEET-in-waiting elites, learn from each other , form a new Japanese Party, and bravely challenge the evil! Grow, NEETs! Grow like blazing fire! NEETs!”

I am waiting for the flush of posts blaming Gino for not pulling himself out of the debris earlier (which he did only too late later) but just shouting at Masaoka to hold on to Makishima.

Well to be fair, he pretty much wrecked his arm totally doing that.

As someone who was really pumped for this episode, I kind of felt it was nothing more than mediocre.

It unfolded in an entirely predictable way. The wrestling and the dynamite? The trained police detective stepping blindly into a trap after he was made aware that the area was trapped?

All pops had to do was kick the bomb away and all would've been fine... It takes a lot less time to do that than pick up and throw it.

I do like how Tsunemori's character has progressed though. Next week should be fun!

Well he was running at the dynamite so if he were to kick it he would have had to kick it at gino, which is pretty counter productive xD to kick it away he would have to turn, probably would have taken longer than throwing it.

I love this series, from start to finish i enjoyed every second of it :) one of my favorites, may rewatch the whole thing after i see the ending :D cannot wait to see how it ends, actually can't tell how it will end, which i really like :D

I still want to kinda root for Shougo because the Sibyl System sucks.

Then you are ready to join Sybil. If you don't have red eyes after that episode then you can't be human. Sorry, not an insult, I just don't know how you could feel nothing after that. As a father, it really hit home.

Masaoka could've prevented the bomb from being thrown if he had wrapped his leg around Makishima's arm, or at least pinned his arm to the ground with his body.

I'm not a troll, I just didn't feel a thing. That doesn't make me a troll.

The reason I didn't feel a thing is that Psycho Pass hasn't handled its characters well. They are more tools to tell a story, than fleshed out characters. Masaoka has recieved some, but nothing that really changed my perspective of his character. Ginoza, on the other hand, has been a mess and has changed personality depending on the situation (sometimes being a jerk for no reason, sometimes being a clever guy and so on).

There is nothing to relate to.

And don't pull the "you're not human" card bait. I have cried to anime before. Not just this one.

Reminds me of the vid with the man and the train and the kid getting stuff
but instead of choosing the decision for the common good, he chooses to save his own son which makes the old man a lot more human

Its too bad that Masaoka have to die but since he is revealed to be Ginoza's father, I have a feeling it will end something like this.

I kinda see the death flag for Yayoi but I wonder if I were wrong. We'll see.

Makishima is as tricky as always, I wonder if Kogami can even defeat him in a battle since he got his ass kicked last time.

Not only that, given his deteriorated state of psycho-pass, he may just end up becoming an Enforcer as well, again like his father.
I would so love that. Such beautiful writing. And maybe Gino will stop whining like all the time.

I can't see the old man being that flexible with his legs, more so having to hold Makishima's arm down for a period of time like that with his legs. And it sure seemed like he was already using all his strength to hold down the struggling Makishima with his arms.

Easier said than done, if you ask me. But even if that's not the case Masaoka was obviously distracted the second Makishima threatened his son's life. Probably wasn't thinking very clearly.

I don't know why, but I couldn't connect with Masaoka's death as strongly as I should have.

It just didn't feel strong enough for me. And I loved Masaoka. He was one of my favorite characters.

I mean, I connected with Akane's friend and her death and I don't even remember her name. Something about the sense of urgency and the relationship between the two was just so well-developed that I didn't want to see her killed.

Not saying Gino and his dad's relationship wasn't well-developed, just not in a way that sets up for a death in the family.

Or it's probably because Masaoka was slowly fading out of scenes as the series progressed.

Either way, Urobutcher is on a roll with this series.

He could've kicked it upwards, the box would've taken most of the force... he could've kicked it with the side of his foot at a 90 degree angle... that's not the point. The point is that him grabbing and having it explode in his hand was a device of the writers. It was just lazy, it served its purpose though.

You know he is a detective/old man not Cristiano Ronaldo, if he screwed up the kick you mentioned Gino would've died, I am pretty sure that's not the first thing you would try to do in that situation at least I wouldn't, I would probably do the same thing as Masaoka if not something worse considering the fact my own son's life is in danger and creative thinking is your last box of cookies but hey that's the average old me. So I don't see it as bad writing at all rather a comprehensible course of action for someone within this situation (at least to me).

Great episode, saw his death coming.... but damn it still hit me heard, a father before everything. Masaoka you my friend were epic.

Masaoka no!!! His final moments were simply amazing. I'm pretty sure Kougami is more pissed now than he ever was. His father figure just died. Also Akane has gotten much better over the course of the series. I hope we get to see an epic fight between the two before Akane arrives.

I can't believe there is only 1 episode left. I don't see how it's possible to end it in 1 episode. I hope the finale is done well.

Every time they bloody split, someone dies.

Sad to see the old man dying on his son's arm. Masaoka was my second most favourite character in the anime (after Kogami). Ginoza will be getting a mechanical arm by the end of the final episode. And if the Sibyl system is up and running, he is most likely on his way becoming an enforcer. Everything points to that direction. Kunizuka will most probably survive. And if the system is somehow dissolved (I hope it does) she will return to becoming a musician. That's two ends for you, with and without the system.

And I can almost see both Kogami and Makishima dying. Kogami most likely to take Akane's shot when she will pull the trigger knowing it's in non-lethal paralyzer mode, but the dominator will either be reverted to original state due to Makishima being apprehended or modified by those brains-in-the-boxes.

Outstanding watch overall. Still a 10/10.
